Does this mean we now have 2 Formula 1 cars in the game? I'd love to see more released, its one of those modes we very rarely touch in GT games.

The 2 in the screenshot are both 2023 Super Formula cars, just one is Honda and the other Toyota so depends whether you want to count them as 1 or 2 cars.  But there's the older Super Formula car (the one used in the S7 licence test at Laguna Seca) and the old 80's F1 car, the F1500T.  So 3, or 4, Formula cars unless I've missed some.

Maybe cars to try if we can ever get people together for another nice on GT.

  2. I didn’t change my play style to get the Hemlock Platinum, I just happened to look at my challenges and realised I was only a few off.  But I’m not chasing Platinums and especially not Polyatomic.  I just thought I’d Gold the guns as it’s a relativey simple challenge on each gun.  But some are painful so can’t see me sticking with them to get the required longshots for Platinum.  And that’s in classes of guns I use nevermind ones I don’t like LMG’s, Battle Rifles, pistols etc.

    As for Polyatomic, a quick google says there’s;

    11 AR’s

    5 BR’s

    9 SMG’s

    6 LMG’s

    5 Shotguns

    8 Marksman Rifles

    6 Sniper Rifles

    5 Pistols

    4 Launchers

    3 Melee

So 62 if my maths is correct so if you only need 51 you could miss the snipers entirely.

  3. I was pretty close but my record now stands at;

AR's - All done except the M16.  I've only really used the M16 in HC as core it seems meh, so might have to do some more HC to finish it off.

SMG's - All done except the BAS-P, another gun pretty rubbish in core so again think I need to do some HC

Shotguns - All done except Bryson890 which I only need 2x 3 kills without dying which is relatively easy.

Marksman rifles - All done except LM-S, I didn't get on with when I tried it and never gone back but will have to give it another go.

I've managed to unlock my first platinum too on the ISO Hemlock, hearing some comments I expected it to be harder than it was.  Though I imagine some guns will be a massive ball ache to get long shots with.

Next for me will be finishing off the missing guns above and snipers.  I've levelled up most snipers but mostly missing crouched or prone kills with them so shouldn't be too hard to get them done.  Though I know MCPR requires hipfire kills which is bullshit so hoping Shipment 24/7 can get that out the way.

  4. @Luseth It makes me wonder whether I bumped in to you at some point before FG but never knew about it.  My teenage years were very similar to you, including listening to Nightwish.  Though unlike you my tastes haven't wandered too far from the rock / metal genre in the 20+ years since given the next songs my current spotify playlist is Devil Driver, Metallica, Within Temptation, Slipknot, System of a Down, Offspring, Nightwish and Disturbed.  Though overall I'd say my tastes have moved more in the symphonic and power metal sub-genres over recent years.

A mate at work once told me that they did a study that showed you usually switch off to new music around the age of 33 and then start just going over your favourite music types and songs instead of listening to whats in the charts. I can definitely feel that although I do listen to new stuff from similar backgrounds as Spotify is good at linking to your favourite tunes.

Some of us haven't listened to what was in the charts since more like 13 than 33 😄 It makes sense though as, probably easily in to your 20's, you're still developing your sense of self and by your 30's you'll probably have a good idea of what you like and don't.  I don't think my general tastes will change much for the rest of my life but still enjoy finding new bands to listen to in the metal genres as well as the odd one here and there so completely different too like acapella groups or Post modern jukebox.

  5. I don't really use camo's so have little interest in chasing them but recently thought I'd try to get them just for the challenge.  I've levelled up most guns in the beginning to unlock all the guns / attachments and found I'd golded quite a few without knowing.  I'll have to check later to see exactly where I'm up to but think all AR's and Marksman rifles are done with only 1 SMG and Shotgun to gold.  Battle rifles and LMG's are much less used so these aren't even close.  I almost exclusively use Overkill so pistols and launchers are even less.

I have never known a video game to measure its peak time and peak player count as the same thing ever. I mean how many times have you heard in this industry developers and publishers refer to peak declines or underperformance at peak time..

I haven't but that's because my exposure to player statistics for games is limited to what you post as I'd rather play a game than analyse the player base.  You're still confusing things by referring to "it's" peak time and count when, if I'm understanding you correctly, what you're actually comparing is the peak in Steam players against the peak in MW2 players.  It still seems to be an odd thing to do though as I imagine the peak steam usage is the evening in USA timezones when there's many reasons a games peak could be in a different timezone.  As by that logic, if only 1% of American Steam users play your game it would be considered shit even if 100% of Japanese Steam users play your game.

I’ll keep it simple - MW2 achieved around 32,000 at peak platform time that day. That’s all there is to it really and it really is that simple. Doesn’t really mean all that much to a game in a steady monthly decline so there’s no point in squabbling over nitty-gritty terminologies.

It isn't that simple though is it, why was the player count so low at the time? By the screenshot there wasn't a corresponding dip in players on April 11th or 13th suggesting there's other factor(s) for the dip on the 12th.  I'm not arguing against the general trend, I haven't looked at the stats and honestly don't care to either, but cherry picking a outlier is pointless.

Regardless of peak anything from what I see season 3 is atrocious from a 6v6 pov. The rest I could give a fuck.

Why? What have they done to 6v6? I've been busy the past couple of nights so haven't played since the season 3 patch dropped.

So by that logic, if COD has its highest player count of the month at 7am GMT in the morning on a Monday, that means it's 'peak time'!? No that's not how it is defined at all here

Yes it is,that is literally the definition of ‘peak time’.

    Peak time

    noun

a time of day when a lot of people are using the same service, such as the internet, phone, etc.

And you know how you find out when a lot of people are using the same service….you count them and find the peak.

In addition to this, they changed the rate of battle token progression. Maybe slowed it down by 50%.

It felt like I wasn't going to achieve everything.

But with a few days spare I managed.

Max level, Battle pass and Ronin all done. I felt relieved to finish it all.

Did they really? Or did it just feel slower as the season didn't get extended and we didn't get as many double xp weekends and those we did have were right at the end of the season.  Surely it isn't that hard to prove as plenty of content creators should have clips of similar-ish matches in season 1 and season 2 and a 50% drop in progress should easily be noticeable.  But doing a quick search, all I can find is people suggesting, claiming, feeling or other such adjectives it's been slowed down but no proof.

The battlepass is slow overal but I can't say I particularly noticed it being slower.  I hit max level in season 1 pretty easy but haven't hit it in season 2 yet still managed to finish the battlepass in the first double xp weekend which was 2 or 3 weeks ago?

As for the blackcell battlepass, I guess we'll see precisely what it gives up.  A few extra blueprints and some extra skins really won't be worth it but if there's enough "content" in it then it could be worth it.  Else I'll stick to the normal battlepass with the points I earned from the last one.

i've done some things then had to travel for work.

No worries mate, I can understand work getting in the way.  Just hard to judge between leaving a server up and no-one playing it or wiping the server.

Would you jump back on the vanilla server @Greboth in the meantime perhaps? I have some ideas for it.

Yeah I should get back on vanilla.  I just keep getting distracted by other modpacks 😄

  10. It’s a tricky one to compare to the SteamDeck in my opinion.  Yes it’s a handheld gaming device but for the performance I’m expecting it to be, at minimum, twice the price maybe even 3x.  At that price point the competition then stops being the SteamDeck and becomes gaming laptops.

Still it’s good to have more options and i’ll be keeping an eye on its development.

  11. Most gaming related events seem to focus on current and upcoming games but looking at numerous ComicCon's there's some focus on teaser trailers for new things but a lot of the panels and guests are from old shows.  So I think it could be cool to have a retro focused one in a similar vein especially as 5, 10+ years later people might be more open about some of the things that happened during production.

  12. There's been a few rumours going round that Grogu going off with Luke was supposed to be the end of the story line but Grogu returning was forced on the series.  Whether it's true or not who knows but it makes sense as they do seem to have stagnated with Grogu.  Especially as Din's story is tyng up with Bo Katan's and seems to be around the restoration of Mandalor which doesn't seem to have room for Grogu.
