  1. It's bragging. No time frame, no purpose. Just to show off shit you've bought.
  2. You've got a quad Tommy. You'll be able to run this, but I wouldn't expect max settings. When this finally gets to the point that I think it'll be worth buying (as in a game I can actually play for hours on end, not just a hangar I can walk around in or a tech demo) then I'll probably build a 4k PC for it and get a 4k monitor. I've already got some ideas but man, that's gonna be asspensiff.
  3. Also Tommy, never, ever play PC games on a TV. That's sacrilege. You might as well buy a Ferrari and drive it around on hubcaps.
  4. I stole this idea from another forum. Seems to be quite a popular topic so I'm starting it here. Rules: ONLY post things you've bought. No stock images. You MUST have taken the photo yourself. Tips & tricks: Photobucket app for Android uploads photos instantly, I'm sure there are loads more and iOS also has them. Makes uploading and sharing a photo a doddle. I'll kick it off with some of this week's purchases: £5.99 each at Curry's. Can never have too many memory sticks. Christmas gift from Kyla. Wrapped under the tree. Going to help a lot with night shifts. To stream media to our new bedroom telly: No, not some cheap ass Black Friday shite but a full fledged, decent model. £270 iirc, lovely looking thing. Water cooler with filters, to replace our old broken one. £10 for 12 filters given to us by the manager of Robert Dyas, usually about £3 each. top bloke. Of all the stuff we bought, this is by far my favourite. These things were expensive. £30 for a cheese grater expensive. Thing is, I like little products like this which have thought put into them to make life easier. The grater for example folds flat to save space. One of the chopping boards folds into a pourer so anything you chop can be shoved straight into a pot / pan without messing. The other chopping board has a lip for pouring sauces, and on the bottom is has some spikes which hold meat in place when you're carving it. Really clever products.
  5. Ha! You're not that old, old man. I remember the days of having to manually tune each channel individually, and walk back and forth to the telly to change the channel each time! I remember when my aunt bought a VCR with a remote, we were all amazed at how they could get the information across that tiny little cord which was long enough to run around the house with As for the 720/1080 thing, it's only a small factor. Size is a huge contributor, if you've ever seen a 40"+ 720p tv you'll know what I mean. Refresh rate is just as important, as are colour depths, black levels, contrast ratios, etc etc.
  6. 720 ones are labelled as "HD Ready" whereas the 1080 ones are usually "full hd" or similar. HD Ready is the biggest con going, sadly loads of people fall for it.
  7. Ah, Black Friday, aka "we've had these pallets of shitty TVs gathering dust in our warehouse for the last year, give me a ton and you can have one" day. I bought tons of stuff yesterday, the only thing on slecial was a Chromecast. Some of the stuff they were selling was ridiculous. Not only Blaupunkt tvs, but also Polaroid ones, and some other brand I've never heard of. It's all crap. Granted if you're living on the breadline it might be a good deal but nobody woth a decent income and half a brain would even look twoce at them. The 40" ones were 30hz for fuck sakes, welcome back to the 90s guys! No wonder no shops had display models. Also great for bringing the worst out in people, the way some people behaved is nothing short of primal.
  8. I just bought a Sandisk today Tommy. I'll let you know how I get on
  9. Havent watched the video above, but as you spawn a patrol on to the moon theres a massive overhead rail thing. That area is your farming area, I'll hop on and show you my route if you like, I've got it nailed down to an art (without any vids!).
  10. Great that you bought one for your boyfriend Steve //how many channels is it? They're great fun those things.
  11. Cheers Hector. Was hoping for sniper, shotgun and LMG. I can make the rocket one work though
  12. Does he have any of those xp boost things for weapons?
  13. I'm genuinely impressed with that article, the author has a very non-biased and relaxed writing style, well done. Microsoft's biggest mistake was losing Bungie and giving the game to 343 to remaster. Bungie knows that game inside and out, every single nook and cranny. 343? Nothing. This ks what happens when finances govern decisions, not a pretty sight. I don't know if Bungie will be laughing their butts off or crying at the nightmare their legacy has become. 343 must be really feeling the heat, but sadly these are the thongs that happen when you get involved with EA and Activision.
  14. Yay, we need moar meat.
  15. Oi piss off you bullies, you all love me because I'm unique, a fucking ray of sunshine and I bring tears of joy to your faces or some shit.

  20. And batteries for the controller
  21. Oh shit, stop press. He's going to need a MicroSD card too. 8gb is more than enough.
  22. Thats bang on Steve, he's a lucky guy
  23. Anything from 4-7 minutes, depending on your flying style and whether or not you're recording. Just make sure you get the model number exactly right, the non-camera models parts don't fit.
  24. Anyone up for a raid tonight?
