It says at launch not throughout the lifecycle of the game, it would be so funny if they flipped the switch once people had bought the game.🤔

I did pick this up, but I'm trying to finish Ghost of Yotei first. I'm actually shocked the file size wasn't as big as I thought. Now, I will read the rest of this thread. Lol. Sorry, I've been MIA like a mudda fugga. 🤪

Too late in the day really. It's only because Battlefield 6 exists and Activision's 'too big to fail' statement is coming back to bite them. They will re-apply SBMM gradually and call it 'matmaking calibration considerations' or some other corpo drivel and it'll the the same old story. Probably happen a week after release too in typical bait and switch form.

    Battlefield 6

I won't lie that video is a hard watch, it's just some guy ranting about a game he does not like and complaining that people are enjoying it... It was never going to be quite old school battlefield in part due to the people that have recently been employed to try and reboot the series and in part due to gamers wants being very different today. I think the biggest criticism currently for me is the maps, if you compare to old school Battlefield the maps are actually somewhat lacking. Operation firestorm (though I am not such a fan) is much more reminiscent of the series, plenty of infantry combat spaces but a larger map with scope for vehicles to really be utilised. They feel very COD esque generally but I understand why because of the people making the game and trying to lure in new fans. Server browser was taken out during the last game wasn't it? Portal will help to mitigate that I suppose and the complaint around skill based matchmaking, it is there but games are not prioritised on that. Heck if it was I think Macca, Lee and I would have been bumped right up to the best players last night as we finished 1, 2 & 3 almost every match. My only other gripe and I had a play with it last night trying to unlock the spawn beacon but the assault class is kind of pointless and the shotgun is stupidly overpowered but then there are always balancing issues when a game like this is first launched so we will see how it is in a few weeks. I may give the single player a go at some point, I am after a meaty rpg to play at the moment but nothing is really jumping out at me currently.

I bought the digital copy because game share effectively halves the price. Not played it yet, but looking forward to getting a regular squad.

  13. The first football manager video game came out in the early 80s on ZX Spectrum and Commodore 64 and was recently re-made for mobile.... and completely under my radar was also released on Steam last month. I played it when I was 10 years old 😍 It costs £4.99 and I've bought it to play on SteamDeck. Expecting nostalgia to take over when I try it out in a bit. I loved the original, so let's see if I can take York City back to the 1st Division 🫠

  14. Hey there, this is a community forum, if you want to join the community go to the Introductions thread and tell us about yourself. Also, engage with other threads and the interests of people in this wonderful community of ours. So far you're coming across as someone trying to grow their YouTube channel with no interest in anything else and we don't tend to respond well to that kind of thing. Cheers 👊

    Battlefield 6

I am having a lot of fun with this game, it's not quite old Battlefield but it's got some of the good aspects of it. Firestorm is one of my least enjoyed maps purely because of the snipers sitting on the fekkin tower. I think they should increase the bullet drop on sniper's to add some more skill to them and that would probably help resolve my gripes with it. Generally the maps are pretty good, I really like Manhattan with the bridge and generally the gameplay is pretty good, I am finishing in the top 4 or 5 spaces most matches so I haven't lost my edge with the Battlefield games which is always a plus. I have not used tanks as much as I did on the past few games either. I think you can see a lot of COD players on the game, the way they move, the lack of utilising the classes, videos online moaning about mines and such and there is often a lack of thinking about how you play, understanding that taking bases closer to enemy HQ in some game modes pulls enemies towards them allowing your team to recapture bases and such. In addition I have also been playing with map editor, it's a bit fiddly but I am getting used to it and despite it's crudeness in terms of just plonking objects down I had my first map published last night so I can now host it in portal. I have every intention to try and create some smaller COD influenced maps just for FG use and maybe we could get them going on FG Friday's if anyone's interested?

    Battlefield 6

I grabbed this in the end and they made some good changes since the beta. It's been quite an enjoyable weekend with no real server problems or any major complaints. Not sure how much staying power the game will have with this pool of maps but there is just about enough content and stuff to do. The progression and unlock system is a carbon-copy of Call of Duty and the gunplay seems a mix of COD and BF. This is definitely the easiest Battlefield game I have ever played and any experienced FPS player will absolutely shred most of the time. The maps are all decent enough but the bigger ones really shine. The New York ones are decent too and hopefully we'll see naval and more snow ones coming up. Operation Firestorm feels off though and a bit unbalanced which is a shame though. Game runs pretty well which is a bonus too!

  17. I saw when he made it initially in beta for free to download but I was worried it would take the shine off the golden old days! Let us know how you get on Philly 😎 Soccer Rivals was the one me and @Findmartin played to death on my Amstrad CPC 464. A board game styled management game, loved every minute of it!

  19. Well this was inevitable and will likely be one of many breaches thanks largely to half arsed 3rd party verification companies being targeted after the UK's embarrassing implementation of their online safety act ID photos of 70,000 users may have been leaked, Discord says WWW.BBC.CO.UK The platform says hackers targeted a firm that helped to verify the ages of its users. Never give away any personal information because you never know where it will end up or how it'll be used. Consequences may not be realised and it could take years to be discovered if at all.

5/10 for the campaign and I must admit, that's actually higher than I was expecting. Battlefield 6 Campaign Review - IGN WWW.IGN.COM Battlefield 6's campaign is a safe, dull reimagining of what the series once was, rather than a bold reinvention of what it could be. Probably shouldn't have bothered with it really. I also don't understand why they take this half-baked direction and have done since BF1. Just like MW3 2023, it's just generic and has no substance. Not even sure how developers concoct such pointless shit.

  28. Loved the first game but the second i swerved as it changed what was good about the original, with floaty parkour and they also nerfed night-time. This looks like a return to form.

  29. I'm glad its till 4 player co-op on this one. A great find too as I've not heard about this game at all! That flying dropkick is hilarious. I'll probably add it on my Xmas wishlist, but could get it slightly before as you'd expect it to come down to around £40 soon. The first one was such good fun, so many of us picked it up too and it was mental at night. The video you've shared seems like its very similar which is great news.

  30. You joke about it and whether or not it is another topic of conversation but I suspect we will see it go round full circle. Digital is great and conveniant and has been for some time however as prices of all these subscriptions increase and mount up they won't hold their appeal forever. We are seeing it now with people returning to vinyl with music again, people also like to own things.

I miss the days when developers would just throw all the content in day one and people would be happy playing for months. This seasonal shite is so tiresome now.

  32. They are blaming the tarriff's, but they are made predominantly in China aren't they? So I get the arguement then for raising prices in the US but not elsewhere. I suspect this is more that they are not making as much money from the consoles as they had hoped, they don't seem to understand that it is solely their fault. I mean everyone enjoys an era where games are more open and available on all consoles but the only first party stuff Microsoft has made since the launch of these consoles is flight simulator & Gears of war remastered remastered for a second time. There is no reason in today's world to buy an xbox console as far as I can see, to sell a product it still need's to have something that makes it stand out from competitors and they just don't have that. They have completely bottle this era, I mean Sony have not done a good job but Microsoft just blew them out of the water.

  33. This looks much better and I think it's free to all owners of Dying Light 2 premium. I don't think I'll be paying £50 though so I will wait for a sale. The original was iconic but I never got round to the second one as they made some foolish mistakes and it took them 2-3 years to fix them to a degree. Even then, it didn't look like it was anywhere near as good as the original which has aged like fine wine and I still regard that as having one of the best atmospheres in gaming. It's an incredible deal if you can play this for free though!
