    Borderlands 4

Yep, first two were excellent and had a certain charm to them, I enjoyed them a lot. If I want a Borderlands experience I can always go back to them, 2 still holds up really well.

    007 First Light

I know its easy to hammer this, but in a weird way it reminds me of when you feel you don't want to watch a really thought provoking movie, so you just find the best simplistic action movie from the 80s/90s because you know what to expect. It feels comfortable and for those reasons, I actually look at and think I'd defo play this 🤣🤣 Just like Mafia games, a simple level design with basic combat. Lets hope its an easy Platinum @slamminbones👀 That being said, I wouldn't pay AAA prices at all. Pretty sure 1-2 months afterwards, the game will be on sale around £40.

  4. I totally agree, there's a lot of strong teams this season with a lot of cash being splashed on players, with probably more to come before the window closes next Monday. Arsenal and Liverpool probably fighting it out for top spot, with Chelsea, Man City, Newcastle, Spurs and Maybe Forest in the mix again for the rest of the top 6. I would have said Villa and Man Utd too but they both look a little off the pace so far. Thomas the Frank Engine has done a good job so far for Spurs, he's even getting the best out of Richarlison....and I think we'll do a little better than last years 17th place 🤪

That worked out well for that other company didn't it....

  6. Anyone got this yet? Was released at very short notice after 7 years of development the other day and costs less £16/$20. It had 3m wishlists on Steam alone and actually crashed every store front when it launched. Just shy of 600,000 players on Steam in the first few hours. There's even other indie developers moaning about how popular and cheap it is plus how they didn't give enough notice to other studios about the launch. Literally the same situation as when Baldurs Gate 3 angered other bitter devs about the success of their game. I'm actually playing the original right now and it seems a really unique game. Surprised I didn't pick it up sooner. It's basically a Metroidvania Dark Souls. If I keep at it then I'll definitely grab Silksong even at full price.

  7. After last year's debacle, I am tempted to grab this. Looks like they've made some key improvements Also a much-improved matchday engine

    Battlefield 6

Do like me, buy 3 years after release, I'm having fun on bf5 and there are a lot of people ! 😁 The beta didn't convince me. I have high hopes for the mod portal and modding (I don't know much about it), but I'll be keeping a close eye on its release.

  9. Good old Channel 5 Chelsea with LeBoeuf, Kevin Hitchcock, Michael Duberry and Graham Le Saux. That was their standard until the dirty money came in and they bought success. Sadly just like City, nothing will happen with this.

    Borderlands 4

I didn't even bother picking up Borderlands 3 when it was £2.99 so I doubt I'll pick this up. Apparently it's plagued with performance issues and invisible walls that completely restrict the playing space. I'm sure the story is better than the last game but that isn't much of a feat really. The first two were great games but this is something I can't really be bothered with now.

  14. Looks pretty good! A lot of Hitman DNA unsurprisingly but the levels look like they have some massive scale. Performance looks a bit rough but at least it’s a legitimate gameplay presentation

  15. The first football manager video game came out in the early 80s on ZX Spectrum and Commodore 64 and was recently re-made for mobile.... and completely under my radar was also released on Steam last month. I played it when I was 10 years old 😍 It costs £4.99 and I've bought it to play on SteamDeck. Expecting nostalgia to take over when I try it out in a bit. I loved the original, so let's see if I can take York City back to the 1st Division 🫠

  16. About time. He did do a fine job in terms of turning a struggling club into a regular European-qualifying side and the stadium, along with profitability has been very incredible, but his tenure has been riddled with too much caution, missed opportunities and failure to capitalise. It's a different era of football now and Spurs need to take that next step with the foundations being laid.

This game looks very interesting - S.T.A.L.K.E.R meets Deus Ex, Metal Gear Solid, Mech Warrior and a bit of Tarkov in a PS1 visual-fest which further combines first person and 3rd. No release as of yet.

  23. Yeah i think with the money they've spent, if they finish the season trophyless I'd see Arteta's position becoming untenable. Personally I hope they keep him ; )

  24. The Guehi deal looking like it may be off, which is interesting. The only place LFC look even slightly vulnerable is at the back. I'm surprised no-one else went in for him as I was hearing they were getting him for 35m.

  27. It's going to be a very interesting season and I think Arsenal's depth could be key for them but it'll be interesting to see where Liverpool are at with some big departures and incomings. Chelsea aren't quite there yet but they should be better placed to compete for top 4 and Man City will be up there but I can't see them winning it or even getting near the top 3. At the other end, I think West Ham are going to have a very challenging season but for the first time in a very long time, I think the promoted sides may be better placed to survive unlike previous years. Unbelievable pressure for Arteta to deliver this season though - over £1bn spent in his tenure and still only the FA Covid Cup to show for it and that was with Emery's squad. I don't even think the FA Cup and League Cup would be good enough to suffice - it has to be the League and/or the Champions League. Not many teams blow through that sort of rate and win less than Leicester. City were nailing the treble off the back of multiple titles and trophies in which Arteta played a huge part in that with Pep so the expectations will be insane but I think they are well-placed this year to do something.

  28. Spurs are actually looking class so far @phil bottle, gonna be an interesting season I hope if they can keep it up, city will be in the mix, chelsea probably will be as well and I don’t see any way liverpool or arsenal aren’t involved in the top 3. could be one hell of a tight title challenge this year

  29. The original is an all time classic, and old as hell. I'm going to watch Cohh's preview videos on it and hope to myself they have made a great sequel. It's had a lengthy and complicated development though, which often leads to disappointment, so we'll see... Due out end 21 October I believe.

    Battlefield 6

According to a credible leak, two additional maps coming at launch will be bigger which is good news. We already know Operation Firestorm is a good size so all eyes on the remaining two. Hopefully these bigger environments aren't too cluttered so land vehicles can breathe and we have some channels to work into. I hope Eastwood isn't lifted from the battle royale mode though. Played a game on OF earlier and it was epic. This is proper Battlefield and I never really experienced that feeling in the beta

  41. I grabbed this for £42 on Game Thor which is a great site - there was no way in hell I was paying £70 especially for a shot-for-shot remake. Completed the Virtuous Mission part and they've definitely done a great job with the visuals and cutscenes. Controls take some getting used to and there is some annoying collision issues with bodies on the floor though. Unreal 5 once again proves itself as a dogshit engine and Tim Sweeney today has come out and blamed all the developers for problems across the entire portfolio of games that utilise it.

  42. Imagine spending $750 on a PS5 Pro and getting a baseline performance output the same as an Xbox 360! Even upscaling with as much slop as possible can't hide how poorly optimised these modern games are compounded with a sheer lack of power and flexibility from the locked hardware.

  43. From the 2 hours I've seen of the game its clearly very different from the original, but still, it looks well done and a game I'd like to play. But yeah, will have to wait a while to see what happens with ridiculous day one dlc...

  44. The game itself looks fucking class, so these stupid pricing practices may well be a case of shooting themselves in the foot. As much as I now want to play it, I'll be awaiting a sale before I buy it 🙃 Congrats to the bellend marketing pricks 👏

  49. The modded server still exists if you want to play on it 🙂 But I appreciate there's fun in the challenge of figuring out your own 🙂 I remember Voizdev on youtube having some good tutorials on starting and joining servers. They may be out a little out of date now but I'm sure they're still relevant. It's more connecting, joining etc. though rather than hardware. Hardware wise, Minecraft is pretty easy to run so just go with whatever the best hardware is that fit's your budget. Some general comments though, Minecraft is still terribly multithreaded so benefits massively from fast single cores over high core count CPU's. RAM, fast RAM is great but total pool of RAM is more important than speed and even for the heaviest of modpacks I don't think we ever went above 8Gb but we probably pushed that limit a few times. Storage, less of a consideration so really any SSD/NVME would do.
