The best and only sufficient explaination I can think of is this: It appeals to the kid in me. Yes, Im only 19. But I had to grow up fast. Something about this show (whether it be the humor, or the animation, or the characters or the ability to go to extreme levels of "D'aww" without ever becoming cringeworthy) makes me feel happy and content. Everyone has an inner child they like to indulge with cartoons and video games, me liking this show is no different (no matter the packaging). Atleast I think they have an inner child. /God, I hope they have an inner child.2 points -

That's kind of what I was thinking. Trekkies, DnD geeks at GenCon, those guys who wear cheese on their heads and paint their obese bodies for a football game, etc. etc. Why all the angst about this as some oddball sub-culture? C'mon people, go judge people based on race, religion, and sexual orientation like a normal asshole.2 points -

The new TMNT game is kind of crap but I'm still trying to beat it... People care because they're intrinsically fucking assholes. I thought that would be clear to anyone who's ever traveled the internet. Like the westboro baptist church idiots. God Hates Bronies2 points -

Several thoughts: Who hates bronies? I find them hilarious. Bronies are not hated, they're pitied, ridiculed and the target of exasperation, perhaps, but not hated. The world is a better place when you have things that everyone can laugh at (bronies don't count as people - they're ponies). Is this like when ugly/fat people yell "You're just jealous of my body!" at anyone who'll sit still long enough to make eye contact? Cause it feels like that. /Claiming an identity built around a kid's show is kinda sad2 points -

What i've learned about those sites is that you use those builds to start out. And once you get a feel for your champion.. You will be able to customize your own builds. That's what I've done with Darius, Riven, and Caitlyn.1 point -

It's like the Tim Tebow phenomenon, people resent him because he's "in your face" with his religion, despite the fact that by all accounts he's genuinely a really, really good dude. How fucked up is that. You see, the problem isn't with Tim Tebow, the resentment comes from the insecurities of the people who hate him. I submit that most (very deliberate choice of the word most, i.e., not _all_) people who really have a hair across their ass for bronies, do so out of resentment. They resent that someone else has something that they're really into, resent that someone is part of a sub-culture that they know nothing about, resent that someone has this special thing that makes them happy. On the part of the bronies, they probably have a tendency to be overly enthusiastic as a defense mechanism for liking a "little girls" show. But that's really kind of irrelevant. Whether or not they're 'in your face with it', this is the internet, don't read their posts.1 point

Robert E Lee's Definition of a Gentleman ----- The forbearing use of power does not only form a touchstone, but the manner in which an individual enjoys certain advantages over others is a test of a true gentleman. The power which the strong have over the weak, the employer over the employed, the educated over the unlettered, the experienced over the confiding, even the clever over the silly--the forbearing or inoffensive use of all this power or authority, or a total abstinence from it when the case admits it, will show the gentleman in a plain light The gentleman does not needlessly and unnecessarily remind an offender of a wrong he may have committed against him. He cannot only forgive, he can forget; and he strives for that nobleness of self and mildness of character which impart sufficient strength to let the past be but the past. A true man of honor feels humbled himself when he cannot help humbling others. ----- John Wayne defines a man based on his acting experiences: "I want to play a real man in all my films, and I define manhood simply: men should be tough, fair, and courageous, never petty, never looking for a fight, but never backing down from one either. "I made up my mind that I was going to play a real man to the best of my ability. I felt many of the Western stars of the twenties and thirties were too goddamn perfect. They never drank or smoked. They never wanted to go to bed with a beautiful girl. They never had a fight. A heavy might throw a chair at them, and they just looked surprised and didn't fight in this spirit. They were too goddamn sweet and pure to be dirty fighters. Well, I wanted to be a dirty fighter if that was the only way to fight back. If someone throws a chair at you, hell, you pick up a chair and belt him right back. I was trying to play a man who gets dirty, who sweats sometimes, who enjoys kissing a gal he likes, who gets angry, who fights clean whenever possible but will fight dirty if he has to. You could say I made the Western hero a roughneck. "I would like to be remembered, well... the Mexicans have a phrase, 'Feo fuerte y formal'. Which means; he was ugly, strong and had dignity."1 point

They're *sniff* beautifulBack to topic, I'm not missing the point I get that it's viewed as a girls show but I still don't get why people care so much. It's what they like so leave it be. I'm a 1D fan (considered a band for pre-pubescent girls) so what, there songs are awesome. It's not just the bronie thing though, hell I think gay is wrong, men are supposed to be with women IMO but I'm not going to protest against same sex marriage, if that's what they want to do then good for them. It will never end, Bronies, 1D or same sex marriage there will always be people who don't like or don't understand people who are just different.1 point -

I think you're missing the point. TMNT is a "boys" cartoon. MLP is a "girls" cartoon. Like Strawberry Shortcake, Sailor Moon, Rainbow Brite, etc... Even at McDonald's here when ordering a kids Happy Meal they ask you if you want a Boy or Girl toy. It has nothing to do with the show being animated it has to do with the target audience. Grown men watching a little girls show is what people are finding hard to deal with. It might have to do with homophobia? I've never watched the show but I would. I might like it too. Also I love the new TMNT animated series. TMNT fan here since ’89. These live on my left front home theater speaker...1 point -

It's just a cartoon I don't see why people rip into bronies, hell I love TMNT and Pokemon (early ones, not these retarded OTT ones of today). How is it too far for someone to have Rainbow Dash headphones, I have TMNT socks so does that count as too far or is it just because people are too shallow and narrow minded to get that people have different tastes? Just because you don't like "that gay little pony show" doesn't mean other people can't enjoy it.1 point -

That doesn't help me in the slightest. I honestly can't tell if this is satire or if this is a serious thread. The whole post reads like "brony" is a substitute for "gays". In the closet? I am tolerant of Bronies as long as they dont force their stuff on me i won't force my stuff on them, etc, etc. But then there are the crazy bronies that are running around wearing Rainbow Dash headphones with their laptops that have pony backgrounds and Pony mods for games like TF2...thats taking it too far. But Bronies like Datte i like because the just understand that MLP isn't everyones cup of tea and accept them for that. and dont pull a "Bro" (PewDiePie Fanboiz) and instantly scream insanity at us because we dont enjoy what they do. Also, Pony Porn. No. Just No. i've seen people making those kind of emblems on Blops 2 and people like that need to be hit upside the head by a..........should i say a baseball bat or a cricket bat? Bat. because that crap just aint right. Maybe i also have a bit of a soft spot for people that are semi alike Furries because i've been around people like that and managed to become quite good friends with them, maybe even made a furry skin for garrys mod using some E2 stuff simply because they were nice people.1 point -

I take it you're talking about Ziggs, seeing how you play him quite a bit. So what you're going to want to do is start out with 1x Crystalline Flask 1x Faerie Charm 2x Health Potions You'll need that to be able to stay in lane longer. Which will give you more gold and exp, than if you just have to constantly recall. While you're in your lane, try to stay there until about 1,300ish gold. Then you can recall. On that recall, what you'll buy will be dependent on how your laning is going so far. So if you're getting hit for a lot, and can't return much damage back, i'd recommend buying the Chalice of Harmony. If you're doing good defensively, feel free to buy the Blasting Wand. You'll also want to buy your first boots to work up to the Sorcerers boots. Feel free to check this link out. It'll probably help you find the best build for the champions your looking for. http://www.solomid.net/guides.php?g=34629-zakkery-ziggs-build-guide1 point -

Drifters "Get off my lawn" thread
TigerBurge reacted to BO7H B4RRELS for a topic
I've worked with juveniles for the past 7 years in group homes, detention centers, intake facilities, and as a therapist. There's without a doubt a difference in the level of respect this younger generation generally shows toward their elders (and their peers) than previous generations. The pendulum has swung too far in the wrong direction. Kids used to get it pretty hard. Maybe, some could argue, too hard if you go back in history far enough. Now we are all about protecting our children, which is great, but that can even be taken too far. It's hard for parents to raise their children how they were raised because it's not the same world, not even close. This generation has been tossed into a global society (largely because of the internet) which has to have some major implications, but I don't know what just yet. Everything they've been raised around is instant gratification. Instant messages, programmable tv, microwave dinners, porn, etc., they're constantly in a stop-watch world where things are moving so fast. I'm sure they're more stressed in some ways because of the knowledge they have of the world that many of us probably never did. I grew up playing army/guns in the back yard. Playing kickball. Riding dirt bikes. Doing kid shit. These kids grow up watching people get beheaded online. We can't comprehend what it's like to be them, and they can't understand where we came from either. We're growing rapidly right now. We are living in a special technological era. Times are changing fast and I don't think kids are ready for it. They're back-lashing because they're scared and confused. .021 point -
