Big coup for Microsoft and a huge name lost for that cesspool Twitch which seems to be getting worse by the week regarding how it’s run. The move could give existing Twitch streamers a boost to their numbers from viewers who want to stay on the platform.

I think Ninja will struggle to replicate his success but it could pave the way for others to depart and move to other platforms like him for more attractive contracts and better representation. Competition within the domain is good and Twitch have been comfortable for far too long.

He has 71k people watching him right now on Mixer.  Maybe it's just because it's new, but I think it will actually work out.  What they really need is to move a few other big names over and then twitch is done.  I don't watch streams much, but I've always found twitch to be pretty good.  I know there have been some picking and choosing as it relates to people getting banned but I'm not aware of it really being that big of a deal.  I have no loyalty to Twitch and don't really understand why other people would as well.

Mixer has hypezone and I don't think twitch has anything like that.  Hypezone is pretty legit if you've never watched it

It's become a significant deal lately with some truly outrageous decisions and double standards from what I've seen. Usually the community are the ones that get annoyed by such things but now some popular streamers are getting very concerned a frustrated by how Twitch is running the show. It's a good platform but Amazon really needs to overhaul the team that runs it because they will lose more big names and viewership going forward.

Twitch have had quite a few problems of late, especially with the cat throwing incident recently for that streamer.

Never watched Mixer but I dont seem to watch many streams unless it's one of you guys.

I think Competition is always needed and being Ninja of all people to make the first switch will see a shift of viewers for sure.

I want to see the contract numbers on this. (Heard a rumor of 6yr/960M) Should shake up the stream game despite Mixer being a mixed bag to me. (Platform is too busy)

Never heard of the cat thing but just watched the clip.  Jesus people are snowflakes.

The girl who did that has had numerous infractions and has never even had a slap on the wrist. She's also apparently given her cat vodka on stream previous and is generally very toxic. A guy who accidentally dropped his cat on Stream got banned, was used as a comparison as rumours of sexism and bias plague the platform. Another big streamer was banned the other day for showing a comedy customised Hitler character in-game for two seconds by accident yet females have pulled nazi salutes and other similar stuff and gone unpunished.  The whole platform is a shambles and whilst the cat throw thing probably isn't as bad as described, the complaints are mostly down to frustration more than anything.

Twitch need to sort out their crappy broadcasting at anything over 720p.

Bit rates

Weird, our company streams at 1080p 60 fps and I don't think I've noticed any complaints!

It's not weird, its fucking annoying [emoji16]

Twitch doesn't like high bit rates, it's gotten better on that recently but for certain games it still struggles.

What an embarrassment Twitch has become

Streaming platform Twitch's boss apologises after pornography is hosted on Ninja's former channel.

Let's not forget, this is supposed to be a reputable global company yet it seems to be ran by salty babies.

I've been happy as it's been about 6 months since i've even heard his name, don't care for him at all and honestly don't care what he does.

Twitch are somehow fucking themselves over, not quite sure how a company like this can make so many wrong turns but i shouldn't be surprised as i've met people before.

Salty as fuck

That's crap behaviour, they're making it worse for themselves. I only watch him on YouTube so i'm glad he isn't banned on that too!

Another popular streamer Shroud has left Twitch for Mixer today. That's two big acquisitions for the platform and I wonder who could be next..

Mixer throwing dollar bills at these top streamers, I'm just not sure itll change the way people watch channels. Twitch remains pretty easy to interact with from a viewer POV and everyone wants ease these days. When it's pretty easy to find and watch good streamers on twitch there needs to be more incentive to switch their behaviour.

Yep, agreed. No-one I like to watch has moved there yet.

I wouldnt be surprised if we see Facebook Gaming blow up soon. Its so easy to set up, interact and also watch on your mobile with push notifications.

If it's easy it has a chance. However, most top gamers are openly critical about Facebook and rightly so.

If it wasnt for the FG page account, I'd be off FB in a heartbeat. Super false place with horrible datamining on your own life.

Another one gone

That's the top two plus a 1m+ channel gone. I hope Mixer doesn't come across as the Epic Store of stream sites by throwing money around to grow their service but sniping big names and playing into Twitch's controversies will only grow Mixer more.

Didnt expect that one. That's a pretty big move as I'd argue that guy has done a lot for the Destiny community and charities along the way so a good guy going will definitely make a few more consider viewing mixer now. I can see that from his comments already.
