So I picked up a 1TB had yesterday on a sale, and am going to slap it into my PS4 once it gets here on thursday or friday.

Is it possible to ghost the one drive to the other? Or will I have to redownload all the games, and save data?

Any advice before I do this?

Is it an internal one or external? By the sounds of your post it seems internal and I'm pretty sure i read up before you have to reinstall and redownload the updates, including the OS via USB. Its why i chose to do an external as i couldn't be arsed with the faff. I don't really see any differences in loading screens either. I'm pretty sure @crispymorgan found a quick youtube vid on how to do it some time ago.

Found this guide

Basically I can backup everything to an external HD, grab the OS from Sony, and then run it all internally here without uploads/ downloads in the short term. Which will be nice and give me something to do this weekend!

I'm sure that was the one @crispymorgan found before.

You done this yet @Sennex? Having a bigger hard drive is possibly one of the best quality of life game decisions to take.

Dell still hasn't shipped them yet. Which is annoying as hell. I bought them because of the Thursday deliver, but the order status hasn't changed at all since then

Other than the backup and Restore, this took all of about 30 minutes. Which was mostly getting the OS onto the new drive. Swapping the HDD was so flippin easy its not even funny.

Nice job Bart. Can you use the other one as an external HDD as an additional 0.5TB?
