Sennex 1,972
Are there any games where you can just drive around and not have to worry about missions, or police, or any thing else. Just explore cities and countrysides? Every now and again I play Microsoft Flight Sim, and just being able to explore is pretty cool. I was hoping there was something like that but driving. GazzaGarratt 1 Luke 23:34 'And Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they don't think it be like it is, but it do." Forza Horizon 4 or 5 You can do stuff if you choose, missions, challenges etc but you can also just cruise around. Both are great games 🙂 4 is set in the UK and 5 is Mexico. Think they're on PS5 now as of quite recently Sennex, GazzaGarratt and J4MES OX4D 3 Link to comment https://forevergaming.co.uk/forum/forums/topic/11234-driving-games-question/#findComment-161346 Share on other sites
Sennex 1,972
I have 5 but actually forgot about it. I will see about getting 4 now as well. Forza Horizon 4 has been delisted from sale unfortunately. The Crew 2 has a pretty massive landscape and a great mix of watered-down cities and countryside plus even water. Euro Truck Simulator and American Truck Simulator have huge maps to drive around on. I would have said Forza but when I played the last one (my first experience of Forza) it felt a little overwhelming with races and events everywhere, that said the cars were great in it. I have been wanting a steering wheel recently and contemplating where to go with it. If you are happy to go a little bit older I think Test Drive unlimited was quite open for exploration and just going for a drive or I think I would second James with The Crew. If you wanted to go a little bit different play Red Dead redemption, get to the point where you get a horse and just potter around on a horse instead? Sennex 1,972
There are races and things everywhere, also the map feels a lot smaller than it should be in size. Its really odd. I need to see about getting 4 still, I remember that one feeling bigger Luke 23:34 'And Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they don't think it be like it is, but it do." Deby 11
I think Asseto Corsa has some really good free roaming mods but it requires some investment, installing the mods etc... other suggestions: -Burnout paradise -TDU3 Solar Crown (mixed reviews) -Beam.ng drive (mods free roam?) phil bottle 1 Link to comment https://forevergaming.co.uk/forum/forums/topic/11234-driving-games-question/#findComment-161362 Share on other sites
GazzaGarratt 11,219
@Sennex I appreciate Gran Turismo 7 isn't really an open world racing game - however, it can be quite therapeutic to drive around a few different tracks just in time trial mode (so essentially free play) and mastering the turns, braking points, etc. Elsewhere, you could arguably try Mafia 2? As plenty of time to do open world stuff. Just stick the limiter on and play in easy mode and cops aren't a concern. Driving around, listening to the radio, and just soaking up the atmosphere is my favourite part of the Mafia series...and 2 does it best imo GazzaGarratt 1 Link to comment https://forevergaming.co.uk/forum/forums/topic/11234-driving-games-question/#findComment-161648 Share on other sites
