A remaster of the original Gears is on the way.

Releasing on August 26th for Xbox, PS5 and PC. It has campaign and MP with cross-play enabled. £40 or comes to Game Pass on day one, or owners of the Ultimate Edition get a free upgrade. I'm really looking forward to this one.

  • 4K resolution
  • 60 FPS in Campaign
  • 120 FPS in Multiplayer
  • High Dynamic Range (HDR)
  • Dolby Vision & 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos
  • 7.1.4 3D Spatial Audio
  • Variable Refresh Rate (VRR)
  • 4K assets and remastered textures
  • Enhanced post-processing visual effects
  • Improved shadows and reflections
  • Super resolution with improved anti-aliasing
  • Zero loading screens during Campaign

Again a remaster of the first game? I would like to play this series but only the 1st and the 5th are available on pc, so I am not bothering with them. Why not make a MCC style collection and remaster for all?

Exactly. The 4th is also available for PC but it’s shite and only available on the Windows Store. The Ultimate Edition of the original was also a terrible port. This looks a really pathetically weak effort without the first 3 games. If they then released 4 on Steam then people could access the collection at least. The original will be finished in 10 hours, the MP will be played for a week and then it’ll be gone and forgotten about.
