I couldn't see a thread for this which surprises me.

It seem's to be our surprise new game recently, 6v6, fluid combat in the Overwatch style. There seem's to be a few of us giving this a go so come this year I can see it getting some use!

This thread is to ask about people's favourite characters, any tips and tricks for anyone struggling to find their feet and also to talk competitive nights. I think it might be good to create some events and get a full squad of 6 on the go as co-ordination on these game's can really send things your way!

So to kick this off I am going to make a suggestion for new players for each class -

Tank - Hulk - Easy to get to grips with, has a great deal of health and his Ult just allows you to charge in and attack like mad (Click the sticks in for an entertaining move on enemies if they are close enough). Don't forget when you die as Hulk you turn into Banner, if you keep your distance he can deal a fair amount of damage with his Gun

DPS - Punisher - For anyone who has played a shooter before he is the character to use. Simple, has the choice of machine gun or Shotgun and can deal a fair amount of damage. His ult can clear out a whole team with it's rockets and using positioning his turret cleverly can allow you to deal huge amounts of damage.

Healer - I think this is a tricky one, there are definately some good one's but I think for a new player I would suggest Jeff the land shark. He can spray and pray so to speak to heal and launch out little water bubbles that players can run through to heal.

You've made a thread so you've answered your own question. I feel like I should give you a banana 🤪🤣

This was meant to be for people's suggestions, those 3 are only my opinion and could very well be wrong!! 😄

I could also have sub consciously answered myself as usually no one is on here to reply! 🤣

I saw a few people on this last night, I may have to download. It looks like fun and I want to get abit more involved again now!

So far it has been a breath of fresh air playing this. Don't get me wrong, Competitive is biting our asses a lot, but so good to learn more and work as a proper team. Wins feel deserved when they happen.

My characters I love so far are:

Tank - Groot

DPS - Starlord, Iron Man, Magik

Healer - Cloak and Dagger, Mantis

Cloak and Dagger feels really good and helps make you feel like you can impact a game on attack as well as defence given it has Cloak's side of attacks to take into the game. Most DPS are really squishy so having the right heals in the game seems to be the way forward!

The past few games on this have been a little frustrating, partially because I can't work out where we are going wrong. Even when we have good games as a group we still seem to lose so I have opted to have a break from it the past few evenings.

As for my go to characters, they differ from the suggestions above and that's because they much more suit how I play -

Tank - My go to tank is Peni everytime, she is such an aggressive tank and if you have a good healer behind you, you can really wreck teams. I also have a few clips where I have used the Ult and held off or even killed the whole opposition team after the rest of my side has been taken out. You just sometimes have to be clever about where you position your auto mine device.

DPS - I seem to be struggling a little bit with DPS at the moment. I had a good game with Scarlett Witch the other night, the first time she has really clicked for me but as good as her attack is the range is quite limited which means you have to keep darting in and out and timing it so you don't suddenly get pulverized as she is a little squishy. I enjoy playing squirrel girl as her explosive shots can cause some damage even from some distance away though I don't think I am getting the best out of her yet. Then playing as Mr Fantastic is like having an extra tank which is absurd. It's great for holding a point a little while longer after your team has been killed off but he is so frustrating to play against.

Healer - I think Cloak and dagger is great, being able to switch to attack when required too otherwise Luna Snow is probably my other choice. Her speed can help you get into the fray as and when required but healing is quite easy to play with as well.

Currently my favourite characters are:

Bucky (Winter Soldier) - useful for dealing damage to tanks as they move towards the objective/rest of the team and good combos against DPS/healers.

Invisible Woman - has taken over from Mantis for me as can solo heal a team with her and also contributes a lot to DPS.

Scarlett Witch - the easiest character to use on the game imo but also quite cheesy. Have to be more strategic with ultimate ability as easy to get shot doing it.

Also like Moon Knight, Iron Fist, Squirrel Girl 🙂

I usually avoid tanks as not my strongest point but I’ve also not really used any yet.

I'd agree @Luseth, DPS is actually much harder than it looks to settle on some characters. I'm either feeling invincible or I'm getting wrecked. DPS health is so squishy right now and I think the game very much depends on healers which is probably why so many of them have abilities to keep the team invulnerable for a number of seconds. And weirdly, Healer's seem to be easier to play too.

Tank is one where the overall game isn't heavily weighted towards them so maybe its more than we have to look at the Team-Ups a whole lot more.

@Andy_White_07, love it mate, good to see someone do well with Bucky and the fact you have Invisible Woman down already is a good thing! She is far too OP on release for me. If the opposition knows how to do run Mr Invincible too, you know you're in trouble.

I want to try more Moon Knight as I've got a hang of his abilities but need more time with him to get strategies right. Tried Venom last night as if I'm tank i'd rather be an aggressive one. He's bulky and has good health if you use his R1 ability at the right time but definitely feels like he is super weak at taking heroes down. Its like he is literally a Level 32 boss from The Division; bullet sponge that never feels like he threatens you.

How much is this? I've been wondering when we were gonna get another good game. Is this another Overwatch?

It will cost you the astronomical amount of zero pounds and zero pence.

Its Free to Play.

In short, yes, very similar to Overwatch. Different but samey. 6v6 though which is way better and all the heroes have landed very well so far.

I've given a few of each a go!

DPS - I've tried a few, Black widow isn't bad as I do enjoy sniping and seem to be quite accurate, bucky I'm slowly trying to get the hang of, same with wolverine, however whilst playing ranked I've settled on Punisher, I think people massively underestimate his smoke bomb and zipwire, yes his guns are class but when team mates die and your up against it maybe 2 v 6 for a limited time, smokescreen then zipwhire to get the hell back to wait for your team. Also linking up with rocket or a good healer who gives you increased damage or bullets and your near unbeatable!

Tank - Sorry but I will only stick with one on this and that is Groot, the guy is a legit cheat code, using your larger walls to help block damage, staying close to them helps heal you, then using your smaller walls, try if you can to put them above your enemies so they can't see and won't shoot them down, so then when activated will deal out some decent damage whilst using combination of R2 and right analog, his grenade bomb is pretty good also, going back to the walls, they can really help get you those extra seconds needed on the point, blocking off certain entry points for the enemy. His Ult is perfect for setting up a team mate who can deal some damage, grabs multiple enemies at a time and delivers some great damage, keeping them still for around 5 seconds which is more than enough time for someone to dish out some destruction.  To sum up....GROOT IS KING!

Healer - I have tried using Jeff and if used correctly can be an irritating little shit to the opposite team, especially if they are all occupying the point, his ult can take the whole team if needed and launch them clean off the map, his healing process via bubbles and water gun are good but you have to be accurate with that. My go to for healer though is Adam Warlock, I don't he's best being used as a more defensive healer, keeping out of site if possible, don't get me wrong, he can deal damage, if you build up his L2 beam and nail it, easily capable of nearly eliminating someone, combine that with his regular R2 move and it's pretty decent combo, his healing is fantastic though, constantly being able to pick which team-mate to heal via R1 then also using L1 to share the damage throughout your whole team which if used properly is a God send, his ult if timed right is perfection, I think if you use it within 5/10 seconds of team mates dying, can all be revived instantly!

So yeah my go to guys are

DPS - Punisher

Tank - Groot

Healer - Adam Warlock

Favourite Player - Groot!

Now I have had more time with him, I really enjoy playing with Moon Knight! Definitely not a player to be at the front of a battle but his damage output with a perfectly placed Ankh beforehand can destroy a team in seconds.
