One of the COD leakers has said that the no SBMM matchmaking will be in this game but they don't know if it's the default matchmaking or if it will be a separate playlist. Obviously it needs to be default with SBMM reserved for rank play. If it's in its own playlist then I'll just be sticking to that.

You know I joked but also meant it 😄 I've always been a believer that near enough everything is cyclical, so I won't be suprised to see a boom at some point. I do think we have a chance of another gaming market crash though. Like James says above, the way that people consume stuff these days, a developer can't keep up and the pay in relation to work/life balance is just not good in any way. With Microsoft seemingly moving more and more away from the market, could be a good time for a new emergent to come in if they can figure out a way to break it.

The new exotic mission apparently looks okay, but people are sharing it feels pretty empty. Its such a hard one to balance out now as most common Destiny players that enjoy what its stood for, expect really integral exotic missions, or some form of long mission that has multiple steps. We aren't gonna get that now with the way they can't churn out content to match the cycle of what consumers want. They'll get a spike for the Star Wars collab coming soon. We'll have to just see what actually comes with it that stays and holds people's interest. Now, more than ever though, is enough evidence that gamers way of thinking shows that they just should've made Destiny 3 and took the heat for not being able to crossover weapons. Gamers get butthurt for so many silly reasons and that would've gone away quickly if a new game was out.

I don't like subscriptions in general and they soon mount up. Most people probably have 5-6 across media, entertainment and shopping and this could easily cost close to £100 a month soon. Also when lead companies make moves, other ones follow suit - Nintendo put their games up to £70 recently and like lapdogs, EA and Microsoft were on it within a week. People subbed to the Game Pass for a year will now pay $360 which is crazy! I've said it before, but the Game Pass was originally great value for the gamer but absolutely terrible for developers and it's even worse now even with the increase of price, because the pot share is far more competitive. This is easily one of the worst business models in the industry that in the long run will sink developers because they make pittances per install but are bailed out because Microsoft is their owner or affiliate. When Microsoft shafts them due to a lack of success like they have done with so many already like Tango Gameworks, it will destroy so many studios and careers because no matter how good the games are, they area buried within a bloated pass and cannot earn any money anywhere near to cover internal costs. Epic have stabbed so many developers in the back trying to topple Steam and Microsoft are going the same way with their fruitless attempt to dent the Playstation market share. They really need to abandon this pass altogether. People be far better off spending $15-20 a month on games in the Steam sales and to hell with paying for a console and the online requirement.

You joke about it and whether or not it is another topic of conversation but I suspect we will see it go round full circle. Digital is great and conveniant and has been for some time however as prices of all these subscriptions increase and mount up they won't hold their appeal forever. We are seeing it now with people returning to vinyl with music again, people also like to own things.

I am cautiously optimistic, I want it to do well and I want it to be good however we obviously had our fingers burnt last time around. I have intentionally bought physical on PS so I can sell it if it turns out crap. That said my beta experience it felt like a middle ground with battlefield and COD so not quite Battlefield as I have always loved and enjoyed it but it has some of it in there so an improvement on the last game.

Activision have fucked themselves with this one as it's shown that they're lying pricks. They put out those documents about their matchmaking process and they claimed that ping is king. This reduced skill matchmaking system shows that isn't the case at all. It's now 100% obvious that skill takes precedent over anything else when matchmaking.

Liverpool look awful this season - 3 defeats in a row now but they have actually been fortunate to win any matches. Late goals and last minute winners have saved them but their frailties are costing them dearly now. Even Man City are catching them.
-
Yes, probably going to rewatch it myself. Now having watched Gein I have to say it's weird as ....but you have to watch it to believe they actually made this show.
-
I still haven't pre-ordered. It'll probably go down to the wire. I have very little hype for this but a part of me knows there isn't many good games coming this year and it'll be a good time filler that is popular. I also have a bit of money left in my Steam Wallet that could go towards it. Think I could probably get satisfactory return on it even if the campaign is another miserable half-baked effort but I'm also worried for a lack of content. Everyone else seems really pumped for it but I'm just not.

It's all Activision's doing sadly but Treyarch will get the flak. There will be a big bait and switch on release but I expect most players are tuned into what will happen when the SBMMless playlist doesn't exist. They've already released pages of documents to shareholders about how SBMM is the biggest retainer of players they have ever seen and they have zero plans to ever remove or even reduce it. Can't see anything changing even with the prospect of them getting stomped by Battlefield and losing a huge chunk of players. They will probably argue that the lack of players in the beta throughout is because they removed SBMM and twist it like that.
-
I feel that Treyarch have shot themselves in the foot by adding this reduced SBMM (it's not gone completely) playlist. It's shown players just how strict the current system is so removing for launch will turn those players away from the game completely.

Realistically its between the arse, the bin dippers and man shitty, I can't see anyone else being consistent enough.
-
It should've been Liverpool all day long but they feel like the only side that could screw this up. Genuinely hard to call so far. If Chelsea or Newcastle get a run going you never know. Spurs look strong so I do wonder who can get consistency after the International break.
-
Jeez, what a trailer. Do you recommend the Dahmer one then Gary @techno?
-
Could be the Arse that win the this year but at least the league has seemed more competitive the last year or two, and I'm all for that. And Wet Spam getting relegated of course 🥳

The great physical revolution returns!! YARRRRRRR! 🤣

Its a shame people like Prickford exist, but there's so many good games out there it's easy to boycott the wankers these days 🫠
-
I've been in Menorca last couple of weeks so I'm in a pretty good mood and don't really care what these pisstaking companies do any more...but yeah fuck Saudi Arabia up the arse xx
-
I've made pretty good use of the GamePass until now but yeah I won't be continuing with it personally following this, I've got plenty of games to play on PC and indie companies are making better games than the big boys these days anyway, so bye bye Microsoft. Also, the subscription model is becoming a joke in general, no wonder ppl are returning to pirating.
-
Whether they we like it or hate it - business model wise, having exclusive games to specific consoles makes the world go round. They may have got millions of digital applause online when they said they wouldn't do exclusives, but they kissed goodbye to console wars when that happened. Its just not what the gaming world has ever been and thats why Sony and Nintendo will continue to make the big profits when they bring out their own exclusives.

I've heard its been a better game than BL3, but it hasn't been enough pull for me to go and try it just yet. Not sure I can get with the game to replay through it continuously over and over. For a looter shooter I used to struggle with the combat in BL3 and also the sheer amount of drops the game gives you. I know many that play this genre love drops, and I do....but not absolute shed tons that I've seen on recent videos because I then end up playing Borderlands Administration Simulator. Shame it can't really ever be an evolving live service game. That may have got me into it.

As they added the non sbmm playlist I thought I'd give it a go and it was so much more of an organic experience than any of the time I've put into bo6, I had games where I got shit on all the way through to one game when I got a ruthless medal and I see myself as an average player. Now I'm not falling for this as James said I expect them to return to type but if this is the default setting, not a playlist then I may buy the game. Also the wall jumping is a gimmick that should never exist and the bloody pointless doors ruin the overall experience and are unnecessary, the maps as usual are simply meh. I had so many pointless deaths due to falling off the map. Anyway I don't usually watch much blame truth these days but he's pretty much right here.
