Plumbers Crack reacted to phil bottle in YouTube Adverts Becoming Intolerable
I (surprise surprise) fucking hate adverts in general. I dont watch tv so i get to avoid them there...but yes, it has gotten to the point on YouTube that I stop watching videos that I'm enjoying. There's an advert at the start of a 12 minute video, then a couple of minutes in I get a 50 seconder. I have no tolerance for it and I stop watching. It's fucking annoying, particularly when you also have to deal with the YouTuber plugging another product themselves part way through the video. It's ruined YT for me, but then again most of the content is mindless nonsense these days anyway🫠

I can't believe how bad YouTube has gotten of late - literally advert spam is insane and they are even worming their way into Premium which is a kick in the teeth to paying customers. I was watching an 8 minute video earlier and was presented with a 30 second advert, I then skipped about a minute of the video and was presented with the same advert which was unskippable once more. Not even halfway through and a 59 second video then popped up and to finish off, I was awarded the same 30 second advert I've already seen twice with about 40 seconds left of the video. So that was about two and a half minutes of adverts on an 8 minute video in which one was repeated 3 times!
Also checked out a System Shock 2 Remastered video which was from a stream and 3 hours 31 minutes long - there was about 40 advert slots in that alone. Assuming the majority are a minute and unskippable, that's almost half hour of adverts in a severely broken up video where if you wanted to quick-skip, you'll probably land on a one minute advert 6 clicks out of 7. You could sometimes bypass really annoying adverts by refreshing but now I seem to keep seeing the same ones over and over and maybe after 15 refreshes then I get lucky and hit a 5 second advert which can be skipped but even after all that, I've saved myself about 10 seconds.
It's just turned into extreme greed and done in the most laziest way imaginable. Seeing the same Primark/Bellingham adverts 15 times in 20 minutes watching videos is becoming torturous and they are planting so many in long-form videos now that it's making some unwatchable.

The better game to watch will get the Man Utd one.
Spurs and Bodo game is in freezing cold Norway on an artificial grass pitch, so will be a horrible game to watch. I have to watch it unfortunately 🙈

I really enjoyed the game last night and it was refreshing to see football played in its purest form outside of this horrendous slow-paced tippy tappy posession-based way we usually see today. PSG did the same last week and it was brutally effective and great to watch.

Plumbers Crack reacted to Greboth in New Minecraft Realm - Cross platform server - now with MODS!
It looks like only Matty can do it as the Realm owner so dropped him a message to post a join link.
Never! It’s nice to be able to crossplay with some mods but Bedrock has a looooong way to go to be on the level of java. Also you have to buy the addons for Bedrock (the server host does, not all of us) rather just download them.
Plus Bedrock is annoying in some respects though I accept this might just be because I’m so used to Java.

Not sure I want to talk about the obliteration of Blackburn Rovers right now. The most toxic environment we've ever had, worse than when we went down to League 1, 5-6 years ago. Ironically, I've spoken to a guy at the club who works in there, and confirms they are just sapping all the energy out of the place. Every bit of spare funds is being sent back to India - and there doesn't seem to be any sight that they want to actively sell the club.
Its hard these days, football. Its a sinking hole that is super expensive, so for us to survive next season we desperately need to find someone that wants to buy us or I seriously worry for the history of everything at the club.

I treated myself to the Bond box set at Christmas so I’ll look out for those 👍

Not quite a technology of yesterday but Blu-Ray DVDs.
Instead of streaming old films (and some new ones) that I want to watch I buy them on E-Bay for about the same cost of a stream and then I own them. They won't disappear overnight if I leave Netflix, etc or the streaming service doesn't host them any more

I used to have a huge collection of DVD's but ended up offing most to Music Magpie to declutter years ago. I'm tempted to start rebuilding again as streaming just feels so soulless and even if you 'own' a purchase that is streamed, it can still be taken away from you at any time down the line *cough Sony. Some DVD's used to have awesome extras on them especially the James Bond films.

I have started doing this with blu rays for the same reason, I dont have to worry about them disappearing on me. I have a little collection should the internet ever go down n such and generally the quality is better along with extra features n such
