Like the FG Family, my wife's family is rather large and, with mostly grown up children now, they operate a scheme called Secret Santa.
One of the sisters does a secret draw and every member of the extended family is given the name of another family member. Then, each person buys a Christmas gift for the person they've been nominated for up to the value of £15. The only caveat is you can't be given a member of your immediate family (wife/husband/son/daughter/mother/father) to buy for
Last year I had my sister-in-law's husband to buy for...he loves the dundee cake I make, so I managed to make up a dundee cake kit on the budget including the baking tin, ingredients, mixing spoon, etc
We could try that here...say £15.00 maximum plus postage and keep the Stateside people away from the EU peeps to keep the carriage costs down
