  1. December 8th release date.
  2. Another franchise probably ruined by clueless developers I know a lot of people probably don't play this franchise here but this departure is absolutely horrendous - imagine something like GTA turning into anime - that's how shocking this is. Trailer is pure cringe and full of stereotypical hipster tropes that have been way overused in recent years.

  4. It all feels a bit familiar.
  5. Finally a new football game is in the works! F2P and with many licensed players. Could go either way but anything to give EA and Konami a kick up the backside as they’ve become way too comfortable and complacent for over a decade now and I can’t even remember the last alternative football game we had
  6. Kane staying at Spurs aka Man City didn't make an offer😂
  7. I'm definitely completely burnt out on deathmatch-type games now. I don't feel games like core COD have anywhere to go now with their peak of innovation and popularity already long-passed. This has also been echoed in its decline in the last decade - even with better tech and timescales, they never could reach the heights seen in the golden age from COD 4 to BO2. I really like sim games now as they are very relaxing and have come on considerably in the last decade. I don't like the current culture of MP games with skins, battle passes and microtransactions so I'm happy to be out of it. It's all very sweaty now. Battlefield 2042 will probably be the next and only MP game I play as it's never been a series to rip gamers off or be too childish but most multiplayer experiences now are just not much fun.
  8. No crossplay across generations - PS4 and XB1 can play together but those will be watered-down versions of the game with 64 players max. PC, PS5 and XBSX can all play together with the full 128 player experience. Current gen players cannot downgrade to play with old gen users and of course, old gen players cannot play with the latest consoles due to significant technical limitations.
  9. Is there any genres you used to play either when you were younger or in recent times but just don't anymore? I was thinking the other day about some and the reasons why. Here's a notable few:- Strategy/Management games I used to love these when I was growing up - games like Championship Manger, Age of Empires, Total War and Civilization. They were huge time-sinks and highly engrossing but in recent years I've struggled to get into this genre either due to time constraints or just not having the energy to work through a grand campaign. These games also require a lot of brain power and I feel to exhausted and overwhelmed at the prospect of playing a game of this nature. Arena Shooters Loved the likes of Unreal Tournament and Quake 3 growing up but the genre itself has faded massively in the last 15 years and so has my interest. Mainstream titles like COD offered so much more for small team games and then you have grand shooters like Battlefield which offer a massive MP experience. Sports Titles This genre has been captured entirely by scummy AAA companies who can afford the licences which is a huge part of these games. Although these publishers have always played a part in the big names, it's their greedy practices that have turned me off enjoying the products to their full potential plus laziness with non-monetised aspects such as career mode in FIFA has been a real killer. I do tend to pick up one or two of these games each year now but I never pay full price and I barely dedicate any significant time to them. The way FIFA and PES eFootball is going, I may not be buying any games in this genre anytime soon. There's probably a few more but those are the ones off the top of my head. I think open world games will be another one that I overlook going forward - the game would have to be an absolute masterpiece like The Witcher, God of War or Red Dead Redemption for me to consider playing. I feel this is a heavily saturated genre that to me feels repetitive and tiresome. I do think game design is the big problem at its core rather than the genre itself but a game would have to be truly special for me to consider playing 35+ hours on. Oh and battle royale games can sod off once and for all.
  10. This upgrade topic came up in the FIFA 22 thread regarding PS4 to PS5 upgrades. If you intend to upgrade this game to the next gen, you will need the $100/£90 Gold Edition. There is no free upgrade and you cannot do this on the standard edition. You cannot pay the difference either. This is EA's new tactic and I expect other AAA publishers to follow suit so I don't want to see anyone getting burned by buying the base game and then not being able to upgrade and having to buy the next gen version from scratch. Battlefield 2042 Will Give You A PS4 To PS5 Upgrade If You Spend $100/£90 On The Gold Edition - PlayStation Universe WWW.PSU.COM Unlike most games, Battlefield 2042 won't offer a free PS4 to PS5 upgrade, with you instead having to pay for the Gold Edition of the game. We had a good little cup run with free upgrades lately but now with console changeovers anticipated in the coming months, companies like EA will look to milk where possible forcing people to buy premium versions at the potential of upgrading or them getting paid off twice.
  11. There is no free upgrade this year - you have to pay £90 for the ultimate edition to do so. EA don't give a toss about splitting the playerbase - they just want to rip people off because they know people will pay up regardless FIFA 22 PS4 to PS5 Upgrade Locked Behind £90 Ultimate Edition WWW.PUSHSQUARE.COM No free upgrade this year - There will be no free PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5 upgrade for FIFA 22, EA Sports has confir...

  13. What an absolute knob
  14. There's no way cross-gen will happen as both games are running on very different builds - even the PC version will be running off the old gen version this year. Haptic feedback along with the new animation library is way too ahead of what the old consoles can handle. I'm not even sure if PS5 owners will be able to downgrade their version this year either. With FIFA 21 it was a PS4 upgrade that was also downgradable back to its original status so the current gen could play with old gen users but PS5/XBSX may be hard-locked.

  19. Played a bit of the beta and they've done a good job with the remaster - really brought it up to date without losing much of what made the original so good. Sadly there's all this Battle.net integration shite even with single player and they've also removed promised ultrawide support so fuck them and fuck Blizzard. Wont buy this unless 21:9 is re-enabled and this game can be played without connecting to their shitty services.
