  1. Basically I was in two minds as to whether I'd get a PS4 yesterday or just exchange my £20 pre-order for a gift card and get the machine at a later date. So I popped into GAME still undecided and wasn't entirely sure if they had any in stock. I wasn't notified despite them saying they would 1) guarantee a console before Christmas 2) send me a text/email to tell me that my pre-order was available. Anyway I spoke to the manager who informed me that they had some in stock but only bundles ranging from £649.99 to £799.99. I asked as to why my console-only order was not available and he couldn't give me a satisfactory answer. I also inquired as to why a shop of a company with an alleged cash-flow meltdown could stock such lavish bundles and have such a quantity available in-store. He couldn't answer that. By now, I was more than delighted to exchange my pre-order for a £20 gift voucher. This put him in quite a shitty mood. One of his colleagues informed me on the quiet that GAME had deliberately stocked high-value bundles to match the inflated prices currently available online through the likes of eBay. This method gives the customer a massive package when compared to the £500+ sellers on the internet want for just the console. I can understand this logic to some extent but I feel as if the company that I have supported for over 15 years has completely shafted me of their initial promise. The bundles are good when totted up individually but there is no way in hell I'd drop £650-£800 large across the counter. I wouldn't even pay that for a new PC in this climate. I am very disappointed in GAME's sly move to inflate their own prices through top-end packages to deter people away from the net sellers. The manager quoted he 'had loads in stock' but that is probably a number of customers's consoles that were supposed to be just single units and not bundles. Looks like I wasn't the only one that was screwed over a treat. I'm done with GAME now. I always support the high street retailer over the net for certain goods but this is a bit of a rotten trick to pull this time of the year. I wasn't notified and what I ordered wasn't correct either. They've pretty much used my money to buy in products that I didn't ask for. I have my gift card and I will take something off of them but that will ultimately be the last thing I purchase from this company.
  2. Football Manager 2014 £17.49 Payday 2 £11.24 Trials Evolution Gold £3.99 Deus Ex: HR £3.24 Skyrim £3.74 Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 £4.49
  3. Have you tried The Money Shop or Wonga? It's pretty good; all you do is borrow £20 and you can pay it off during the year. I think the total to be paid will be something like £27,328.66p but at least you'll have DayZ for Christmas I'd stick to the mod for the time being and if you have a bit of dosh floating around after new year, it's worth a punt even in this state. You're not missing out on too much at present though
  4. In theory it should be good but when she runs, the physics aren't quite as perfected as I hoped but then again, this is the alpha. Can't wait to see the beta-bum!
  5. I only saw this happen in hack videos posted online so it is most likely a god-mode hack or something but IW probably didn't want to admit their game had been hacked so they just said they fixed the 'exploit' lol!
  6. Merry Christmas to everybody on this forum I've only been on here a couple of months but it has been a real blast with everyone! Thank you all for making me feel so welcome and I wish you all the best tomorrow and for the rest of the year. A big shout out to Dave for his work and dedication on the forum this year and to everyone else for their wonderful contributions.
  7. Arma II Combined Operations has dropped to £3.39/Complete Collection £4.99 which is good if you're interested in getting the DayZ mod.
  8. Was that an actual hack or just a ridiculous glitch?
  9. I bought the Alpha standalone earlier and it's pretty polished compared to the mod but ropey at the same time. Kept losing connection and every time I select a male character, I spawn as a female with a rather large arse.
  10. F1 2013 has dropped to £10.19 from £14.99 earlier and £29.99 yesterday!
  11. Call of Duty Ghosts £26.79 State of Decay £7.49 Baldurs Gate Enhanced Edition £5.99 The Sims 3 £11.99 Rome II Total War £14.99 Rise of Venice £7.49 Borderlands 2 GOTY Edition is now sadly back up to £20 but may reduce again..
  12. As usual, TV is utter wank this time of the year in the UK with repeats of The Bourne Identity (excellent film tho) and The Fugitive with perhaps The Sound of Music thrown in every other day for a fortnight. What's your favourite movies to watch this time of the year? For me; Home Alone 1&2 were utterly brilliant and bring back many memories. I am also partial to Die Hard this time of year but it's already been on 3 nights on the trot last week!
  13. I have it unlocked and will probably give it a bash on the Operation Locker map. Is the UMP any good also? I've just unlocked that and it was pretty good on COD but this is Battlefield we're talking about...
  14. I was looking forward to watching MOTD and I tried to avoid seeing the score but when I caught a glimpse at it after 75 minutes; I just followed the game online and it seemed really dour! Good excuse not to bother watching the highlights now. Last time I did that it was the Man Utd v Chelsea game and that was also 0-0 and bloody abysmal!
  15. Borderlands 2 GOTY Edition just £9.99 now! Superb deal
  16. Timothy Sherwood appointed Spurs boss Didn't see that coming but at least it's a British manager at the helm
  17. Here's the patch notes : New Features: Heavy Duty mode. 5 squad points granted to each soldier at the initial 5 levels of progression. New loadouts added to Infected mode. Weapon Balance: Reduction in the flinch benefit of the Focus perk for Sniper Rifles. ADS speed reductions and further adjustments to Sniper Rifle settings. Additional Fixes: Field Order adds 100xp on pickup. Fix for unlimited perks. Invisible exploit fix. Sod all about spawns!
  18. If you buy the alpha now at £20 on Steam; I think that entitles you to the full game. If you have a dedicated interest in the game, it may be a good investment to get it now while it's cheap(ish) as the full game may retail at a typical £35-40 mark. Problem is, once the beta is out, so is The Division so I can partly see why they are cashing now but if you do get it in alpha state; I don't think you have to pay for anything ever again related to the game.
  19. Arma 3 £23.99 Splinter Cell Blacklist £14.99
  20. Assuming you're not talking about it already instead of a Medieval 'Call of Duty'; why not play Chivalry Medieval Warfare http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0kTAW-Un9o In the Steam sale for £6.45 from £18.99!
  21. Heavy Duty is live with TDM, DOM and Blitz being part of the HD Moshpit. Will be interesting to see thoughts on how noticeable the health increase is. If it's anything like Painkiller in MW2, Ghosts can get stuffed like my turkey this Christmas!
  22. Aaaaarrggh I am still so tempted to get the alpha but at £20 I gotta be sensible plus it's Steam sale season and I might end up blowing a small fortune and then regretting it when I'm skint for new year! Can't believe the beta is still 12 months away also.
  23. Garry's mod down to £1.49 Battlefield 2 is £3.49 and much better than BF4 lol!
  24. I think a biannual release would rejuvenate some level of interest despite leaving a gaping hole in Activision's accounts each year lol! I think they have completely overdone it now though and the annual roll-out has taken its toll on the franchise and left some gamers pretty sick of the series. I wouldn't mind Treyarch and Infinity Ward moving in a different direction away from COD. They have both proved they can deliver a fantastic MP experience year after year that is astonishingly successful in what is a very competitive industry. If they can utilise their expertise in a brand new IP, they may have something that could be as dominant in the new generation. They should exploit the future possibilities and power of the new consoles and deliver a massively engrossing experience rather than a bog-standard FPS with a tiresome format.
  25. Well said Tommy! I think another reason as to why I am tired of Call of Duty at this present time is down to the aggressive marketing the game delivers in the release build up. I've been pretty oblivious to the Ghosts promotion during the year but that didn't help me avoid watching countless videos and reading a wealth of articles about the game. By the time I bought the game; nothing felt a surprise and compounded by the lack on innovation in Ghosts in relation to other COD games, I felt like I'd seen it all before. Black Ops 2 was very heavy in its promotion and even when I was playing that in the first week; I'd practically seen all there was too see in a couple of days. Gaming sites and YouTube is buzzing with Call of Duty non-stop and if it isn't the current game; it's about the next one and it's always in your face. I guess I'm just finding the whole charade exhausting now!
