  1. OMFG how is this even possible!? I take it Aitchy is a bloody good translator then!
  2. People are saying this is an early contender for GOATY
  3. Another slick performance from Liverpool today. What an incredible finish to the season it's going to be. If they can beat City and Chelsea at Anfield; it's theirs to lose. I'd love to see them do it because Rodgers has done a remarkable job and the way the team are performing is the ultimate definition to quality football. Spurs had a bit of a stinker today as they have in too many games this season. Sherwood started well and literally gave himself the job but they really need to replace him with a quality manger end of season and bring in some better players. Most of their signings from the Bale money have been a massive letdown with only Chadli and Eriksen impressing. Kaboul, Rose, Ciriches, Lamela, Sigurdsson and Soldado have all had pretty horrific seasons. I can even see Everton pipping Arsenal to 4th place.
  4. Thief £20 It's only been out about a month!
  5. Great start for Hamilton and Mercedes.
  6. I quite enjoyed the DLC for BO2. The first pack; 'Revolution' had Hyrdo, Grind, Mirage and Downhill which were all pretty good and varied maps and had the Peacekeeper weapon which was fun to use. 'Uprising' was also really good with Studio, Magma, Vertigo and Encore. It was really good to see Firing Range back and it looked and felt different but still had the qualities of the original. I didn't get a chance to download the remaining packs for the game due to me having commitments but I expect they were pretty good also. If you're planning on going back to BO2; the core maps and the first couple of packs should suffice for a pretty good experience.
  7. This is similar to my gaming set up
  8. I didn't get this as I was on Xbox but now as I have a PS4; if this happens, i'll be a happy chappy!
  9. Right, I've finished the main story on Ground Zeroes in around a couple of hours. First off; I would carefully consider dropping money on getting this unless you have money saved for a rainy day. £20-30 depending on what system and how you buy it is quite a lot of money for what's on offer but fans with a dedicated interest in the series and The Phantom Pain should definitely experience it. Graphically, this game looks absolutely fantastic. The cinematics and general in-game effects are brilliant for what is an early game in the current generation. The atmosphere unfortunately lacks tension thanks to the typically shoddy AI that has become a part of MGS over the years. You begin overlooking a military base and have two hostages to rescue; it's really that simple. The base is fairly large; not quite Groznyj Grad from Snake Eater but there's lots to do and explore. It's not linear and there are many ways you can approach situations. Once again the AI doesn't do itself many favours and some scenarios can be worked around with ease but if you want to score high; taking care and planning your moves by tagging enemies takes some skill to execute perfectly. The controls and the combat are pretty much as expected from past games and the touchpad is also introduced for a couple of functions. The main problem with this game is largely the length of the story but another couple of issues that seem to strike me based on past games is the fucking lame scripting, weak characters and awful voice acting. These were the pinnacle positives of past games. Getting used of Keifer Sutherland as opposed to David Hayter wont take long to adjust but there didn't seem to be any really dramatic or intriguing characters. A couple of them sound like the actors were reading their lines with a cactus pointed precariously close to their rectum. The dialogue isn't as gripping as I would have hoped for a MGSV introduction and the characters don't seem memorable or powerful at all. The ending is a major let down too and doesn't really set up The Phantom Pain in a blaze of glory. I will give the side ops a try tomorrow but on the whole; this game is pricey but worth an experience for fans. It looks stunning but the narrative and characters leave a lot to be desired. It has the typical MGS feel and style but I feel the story which is the series trump card, needs major work as does the writing.
  10. Should have gone to Specsavers
  11. Tomb Raider £3.74 The Bureau: XCOM Declassified £4.99
  12. You should probably start saving towards a next gen console (PS4 obviously) or have a breather from Battlefield. Ghosts isn't any decent substitute for me and the vibe within the community has a whole isn't the buzz it once was. In a couple of months, the new COD game will be making its entrance and I don't think any remaining content on offer for Ghosts will have the desired effect in bringing people back. The BO2 community across the systems is still very strong so if you're after an escape away from Battlefield; it may be worth revisiting that game. Don't spend any unnecessary money on games which probably wont inspire. Just put the cash in a pot and get a PS4 in the near future and then you'll be all set.
  13. Curtains at Old Trafford it seems and the protest posse will be left with faces redder than their shirts. Leicester 2-0 up at Burnley too which will leave them 6pts clear of them, a game in hand and a better GD. Title all but secured pretty much.
  14. More Shortcut Kits for the lazier gamers: Battlefield 4 DMR Shortcut Kit – $5 Battlefield 4 Air Vehicle Shortcut Kit – $10 Battlefield Recon Shortcut Kit – $7 Battlefield 4 Grenade Shortcut Kit – $5 Battlefield 4 Support Shortcut Kit – $7 Battlefield 4 Soldier Shortcut Bundle – $25 Battlefield 4 Vehicle Shortcut Bundle – $20 Battlefield 4 Ultimate Shortcut Bundle – $50 Battlefield 4 Assault Shortcut Kit – $7 Battlefield 4 Ground & Sea Vehicle Shortcut Kit – $15 Battlefield 4 Handgun Shortcut Kit – $5 Battlefield 4 Engineer Shortcut Kit – $7 Battlefield 4 Shotgun Shortcut Kit – $5 Battlefield 4 Carbine Shortcut Kit – $5 Battlefield 4 Weapon Shortcut Bundle – $15 Seems to cost and arm and a leg for the privilege.
  15. Here's a close up Kudos to them for getting the spelling right at least.
  16. Just picked up MGSV:GZ but I'm worried if I start it now; i'll be done by dinner time Can't wait to play it and it looks a good warm up for the Phantom Pain. I will post some thoughts on it sometime this weekend.
  17. Ah there it is Lame effort. 1-1 so far..
  18. Has the 'Moyes out' plane protest happened yet? Gonna have a job upstaging this
  19. Nice to see Battlefield back to its usual self. I was initially miffed when Naval Strike was pegged back for release on PC but looking at the release elsewhere, it may be a blessing for them to sort their shit out yet again. Oh well, I look forward to playing this in September. Probably!
  20. Drop Zone has been added today apparently and all Onslaught maps have been added to the regular playlists
  21. Well it's DXP weekend for Premium apparently and I was wondering if my Battlepack XP boosts work alongside the double points?
  22. I haven't played Titanfall too much since release due to other commitments but I thought I'd give my opinion on what I've grasped of the game so far. I was overwhelmed at how impressive this game was in beta form and despite a few issues, I was very optimistic that this game would be a major competitor to the likes of COD and Battlefield on the respected systems. The final product seems of a substantial quality but key design flaws in my opinion lets this game shoot itself in the foot. Firstly; the 'campaign' is a complete farce. You have two alternating 'stories' played on both sides which last probably 18 matches and for the life of me; at no point could I tell you what was going on whatsoever. You get a brief cutscene prior to the match and then a dynamic scene before the game starts. It is incredibly hard to grasp what is going on. Dialogue attached to the alleged campaign is also played in the post/pre-match lobbies but most of the time you're busy looking at your stats or loadouts to realise what is being communitcated. The non-existent story is played out on maps and modes like Hardpoint and Attrition but what you achieve on the battlefield doesn't seem to offer any further narrative. Quite simply the campaign is embarrassing and pointless on a ridiculous level. From a technical perspective; it also ballses up the matchmaking when you resume the story as the servers have to find players who are at the same point in the 'story' as you to link them to your lobby. I just finished the IMC campaign and my game of Hardpoint Domination on Corporate was left with just 5v3 players which killed the game. Quite simply, the campaign fails on an epic level and shouldn't have been considered. This is one of a couple of severe flaws in the game. The next problem as I mentioned in the beta was the 6v6+bots. I can understand why they have reduced the player count to accommodate the Titans but this has a detrimental effect on Pilot gameplay. The bots offer absolutely nothing of value and downgrades the frantic challenge. They really should have considered changing the structure of how many Titans are permitted at a time and how they are earned. This game would be brilliant as a 12v12 but the sacrifice Respawn have made for their main selling point with the Titans has somewhat harmed the credibility of the gameplay. Even if they beefed up the bots; it may have improved the challenge drastically but I think the core infrastructure of the Titans is a flawed aspect of the game which is the key part of the title. I think Respawn would be offended if people asked them to have a Pilot only mode with 16v16 or something as it would kick their creation in the teeth but in all honesty; I think it would salvage much longevity if they did this. Basically I feel the Titan implementation has been horrendously flawed. One other key issue I've noticed is this game is quite bare in terms of unlocks and weapons. The beta had quite a lot of content available so I thought but actually the finished product doesn't have the wealth of weapons I was expecting. I fear I will unlock and see most of the game within half the levels of the first generation. This is a bit of a shame because I don't want to be bored shitless in a month or so having seen it all. On to the more positive parts of the game then; in terms of the graphics, they are very good with amazingly varied maps. The engine which I found incredible on the beta is as swish and brilliant as ever. The movement and controls are absolutely pristine and it's an absolute joy darting round the map. The feel of the guns, the unlocks and the combat is of that of Call of Duty. It really feels satisfying and in some instances I'd rather opt to be a foot soldier than fart about in a Titan blowing shit up. The games feel really balanced and any camping murmurs and typical FPS moans are well and truly put to bed in this game. It's fast, frantic and pure fun of the highest level and fans of UT and Quake will have a blast. The leveling and design mimics that of Call of Duty as expected, from the people that ultimately created the structure in the first place. You can create your own loadouts, add attachments and all that which is great. There is a good amount of stats and challenges to keep your eyes on too. The Burn Cards are also pretty neat and essentially act as perks but they can be used only once until you die. It's a good job they are readily available as maintaining them is a nigh-impossibility over a duration of time. Overall; Titanfall is an excellent game that lets itself down on key factors with the overall design. I think the devs have made a monumental cock-up in terms of how Titans are implemented into matches and the player count sacrifice to ensure their USP is maintained is desperate in terms of the presence of bots. I think much of the hype was justified and deserved but longevity and dedication from the community and the developers will be the determining factor for this games/series's future. Respawn fucked up with the design of MW2 and still they haven't learned but I think they can learn much from this experience. They were certainly riding on the cock of Microsoft to get to where they are now but many of the issues within the game must hit home for the future if there is to be a Titanfall 2. I think the devs have demonstrated they can deliver a solid experience but I'd like to see them come back to the traditional FPS titles like COD and Battlefield. Titanfall was a much-needed niche but the inclusion of Titans and the confusion of how to draft them into matches to suit everyone has left this game open for tumbleweed in the near future if they aren't careful.
