War Games looks good and for £6, it's not too bad.

I was initially amazed at Titanfall but the game has got a little stale for me far too quickly. Technically; it's one of the most impressive FPS games ever but its core design is completely flawed along with a lack of unlocks, features and diversity. You can see all the game has to offer in a couple of weeks. The lack of a player count to accommodate the titans is the root of the waning interest from the community collectively. 6v6 and bots for pilot gameplay is not satisfactory in terms of the map size and the potential scale of the game. Shooting bots that stand still and offer nothing in combat is not satisfying in the slightest. The PvP gameplay is excellent but thrilling and challenging battles are a rare occurrence. The action is fun, fast and frantic but too often you have little chance to engage in some tactical or tough battles that could impact the match. It's all very samey. The core modes are there along with the impressive infrastructure that mimics COD but it doesn't feel like there is enough meat in the game. The guns and general weaponry are impressive but few and far between. The maps are excellent but too often the gameplay doesn't offer enough scope to change the way you play. It's great fun but in short bursts. I don't think I've spent more than an hour on this game in a session. It's not like the old days of COD where you could happily play for hours and choose an array of different modes which offer dramatic changes in the way you play. Hype sold this game and made it instantly better than the final product actually was. I was always concerned that the bots would discredit the gameplay and that is still the biggest negative of the game. The design is flawed and the sacrifice they made to bring their USP (titans) in at the expense of the player numbers on a server was fatal for community longevity. This game is good but it isn't the game Xbox One users thought or expected it would be. On PC; this would probably pass as a good alternative FPS but at £40 is extortionate. £20 for a rainy weekend and an escape from Battlefield and COD is what it is for me. This was never going to topple COD because it is restricted to just the Xbox and PC. Call of Duty already has an established and dedicated fanbase of tens of millions who'd buy the games regardless of the quality. The brand is far too established and with TItanfall not on PS4; it's not ideal to kick the IP off but I don't think PS4 owners have missed much in all honesty. Back to the drawing board for Respawn but this game in its own right for me is significantly better than Ghosts but isn't on par with with previous COD titles and the heavyweight that is Brokenfield 4. BF4 has over 100 more weapons than TItanfall, more diverse maps and a core infrastructure that is immaculately designed. 32v32 is also a massive selling point for that game and having this on the next gen in this format leaves Titanfall looking a bit half-baked. Will there be Titanfall 2? Probably but it needs a total overhaul in terms of the design. 10 years too late.

I've had Diablo 3 for months but only started playing it last week and it's still pretty good although it's a bit repetitive, linear and some of the locations are rather sparse. The latest patch has fixed the DRM woes and the auction house was given the chop a couple of months back so it's all in good order at the minute. Reaper of Souls is supposed to be darker and more in tune to the series and decent too. PS4 and Xbox One owners will be pleased to know the Ultimate Evil Edition is coming out soon which contains Diablo 3 and Reaper of Souls. You can also transfer your saves to the next gen also. It'll probably cost full-whack for the upgrade though.

BBC DJ loses his job for inadvertently playing a song from 1932 that contained the 'N word'. Although they offered him his job back; he didn't opt to take it due to the incident causing stress. This goes back to what I have said in this thread already about racist language being used in the music industry. Although this 'golden oldie' was a song from nearly a century ago; the bastards at the BBC particularly on BBC Radio 1 happily play sickening songs with shocking lyrics and racist language faded out and nobody raises an eyebrow but one poor old DJ with an impeccable service to the media and BBC radio makes an innocent mistake and is then forced to bow to mercy and still gets sacked. The BBC should have handled it much better but if they are going to get so anal about racist language in songs that are broadcast; their major stations such as R1 and Extra should not be allowed to play songs of that nature filtered or not. There were 1,112 on PC last night with 49 of us in the new DLC playlist 9,000+ on BO2 and a steady 80,000 on BF4. There was 500-odd on Ghosts this morning and trying to get a game in was like finding a nun clubbing in Ibiza.

Ghosts isn't number 1 and has never been number 1 anyway looking at the worldwide charts last year and this year so far. Titanfall is number 1 in 2014 and Infamous 2nd. COD Ghosts is 14th on PS4 and 39th on Xbox One this year. Last year was dominated by GTA V which sold practically twice the rate of Ghosts on both the PS3 and 360. Also Ghosts got a boost with the £10 upgrade for generation transition which also counted as an extra sale. These charts are single unit based copies sold to customer whereas what IGN and the rest of the media have been focusing on is copies shipped to retailers where the publisher actually makes their money. Ghosts has sold a lot of late to shops because Activison are offloading their copies for peanuts to wholesale according to the manage of my GAME store. So if Activison ship two trillion copies of COD; that doesn't mean 2,000,000,000,000 have been bought by actual people. So despite the 'lack of options', more people have bought the exclusives of the next gen leaving COD Ghosts for dust deep down in the charts. Even FIFA and MGS have outsold Ghosts on the PS4. Activison can ship as many copies as they want but at the end of the day; the gamers know what they want and it ain't fucking Ghosts
