  1. That is a Beacon. It is set to Max power, it took 244 Diamond blocks to make it (9 diamonds per block), and it is in the exact center of the spawn. As in you spawn directly in its beam. It is set to make anyone within a radius heal faster as well as move and jump higher
  2. My son decided to help me work on the server, so I was able to do some more setup and tweaking Also built the roads, and the spawn.

  4. All of that would be gone to be honest. you will only need the vanilla minecraft game, no mods, and you will be fine with what we are now doing. I am going to end up doing a "pseudo small town", when other people join us, I dont want them dropped in and then fee like they are in a barren wasteland. It is also where the market place will be as well as the nether portal and anything else I can think of.

  10. okay, who voted town then? This in mind, I am building a portal shelter, an Inn (Think of the one I had on the Tekkit server ages ago), a Blacksmith shop, and a small farm. One thing though, I will set aside plots for a marketplace. Lastly I do want roads, I am planning on making a road straight to the world border from spawn in every direction. I would like folks to tie their builds in somehow with the roads? but its not necessary as I can't protect the roads once built

  13. DNS means Domain Name Server Its what interprets/ links an HTML address to a web address. Example: I told Cal to connect to damNation.eu yesterday as the server address, instead of telling him to use 176.9.50.166 Its not something we really need or care about to be honest, as long as we have the IP address

Here is the Nether Render: It is the exact same dimensions as the Over World That helps like NOT AT ALL LOL One thing about Portals and Players not of the FG membership: I disabled the ability to make new portals, I also disabled the End. There are several reasons for this, the first of which is both of these maps are just over a gb in size, so the servers static playing area is roughly 2.3gb, thats huge. Every portal adds in another point to manage and for resources to go to. So limiting them, and keeping a set portal at spawn is a good way to manage it. That said, I am upping the # of warp points people can have. Also, I plan on researching today how to make the amount of land claims everyone can have based on which world they are in. This will also help you guys get back and forth, and keep the server running cleaner. Lastly, with the "Random" placement of portals in the Nether, I dont want to deal with peoples builds or towns overlapping, or trying to manage that by "moving" portals and then linking them (Seriously, its a HUGE PITA)

  18. Follow the instructions in the "stickied" mod, download the files and what not, thats all you really need to do, as that mod is in there
  19. They are swamps Not nearly as solid as they appear, But a decent spot none the less

  21. This is an example of the "Towny" claim system. The upper left red block is one full 16x16 chunk The large outlined red block at the bottom is 4x chunks. Inside this red "Town" I can control if Mobs spawn, if other players can /Warp to me, or if other players can build/ Destroy/ etc.. Basically its your "Town" to do WTF you want I can edit this picutre if you guys can't read it, but this is what the towny controls look like. Town size 8/8 means I have claimed my 8 chunks. (This is just for testing. You guys can buy more chunks or merge Towns, or create nations etc... All give you more chunks to play with) This is a pic of me getting paid for killing a zombie. I made 13$ in game. Seems like a small amount, but I think I balanced it really well. I will play with these numbers as time goes by though
  22. The ideal spot for you might be a desert to be honest. Also, I have added in the ability to /set home, and to /warp to various places. One of which will be spawn. That way you guys can always get to the spawn point, and then back home again. Also, with the Chest shop I am setting up, there will be a market place for you guys
  23. Map of what the new Landscape looks like, The red Box is the world border. The total land mass is 6000m x 6000m (3000 m radius around the spawn point, which is the globe, in the center. As you can see its been pre-rendered. I actually thought this was going to break my PC LOL

We don't really want to exclude folks from playing, and at some point I think it would be cool to allow "others" to join us. So that being said, as cool as it was to do all the work I did; that server is now scrapped and I am building a Craft Bukkit server. The good news for you fluffers is that it means you will only ever have to manage the mods you want to play with on your own end. Player controls all permissions inside the block (Within reason) - 99% configured [McMMO] - Adds in several skills and rewards that just make the game a shade more fun to play - 99% configured Configured but needs more Testing:[Vault] - this is a wrapper to help link all this cap together. [Chest Shop] - Player driving economy. Got to much dirt? SELL IT! Need Cobble?
