    New CoD Ad

I thought it was good. Let's face it, you already know everything you need to know about the game so why not have some fun with the ad?
  2. This sums up my concerns beautifully.
  3. Yup, I have both a PS4 and BF4 pre ordered.
  4. Don't get me wrong, I want BF4 to be as awesome as I thought it would be before I played the beta. But these CoD-like kill times affect everything. -Maps might be better, but you can die in half a second and it can take literally minutes to get back in the action. At least in CoD you're back in seconds. I was so excited for this game and now I'm struggling for a good reason to get it.
  5. The only reason I'm even considering CoD is because, judging by the beta, BF4 is CoD with vehicles. Which I think is really stupid.
  6. Assuming I can only get one at launch (which is true) what's my better option? I'm weighing objective reasons, such as: -BF4 has a better pre order bonus (map pack vs bonus map) -CoD has a shorter life cycle so it would be better to get it first (though for me it would last two years since there is no way on Earth that I'm ever getting another Treyarch CoD) I know I had more but they're eluding me at the moment. Thoughts?
  7. Getting completely off topic here but what I truly believe would help with that is eliminating kill/death ratio as a tracked stat. Without it there wouldn't be any point in a lot of the cheap tactics people use.
  8. Right now it feels like a CoD knockoff with vehicles so they can say "Look at all the cool stuff we have!"
  9. The way I read it there are supposed to be lock-on launchers that do less damage and dumb launchers that do more damage; more skill required but more reward.
  10. Tried to play some Domination. Got put in a game that ended two minutes later. When the next game started my system froze. Restarted, got in another game that just ended. New one starts, system froze. I don't think I like it but it's tough to tell when I can't actually play.
  11. I wouldn't count on Defuse to be any better. SnD has just as many trolls\idiots as every other mode.
  12. Conduit F3 There are those who deal in lead. Then, there are those that prefer alternative forms of punishment for their opponents. If a mass-driver doesn’t suit you, a weapon like the Conduit F3 may be more your style. With new tech, however, comes fresh risk. This new breed of munitions is evidence of an adaptive society. Jonathan Goff, an expert on Guardian militaria, tells a story about turning the weapons of one's enemies against them. “Advancements in directed energy disbursement were gained through dissection of hostile tech gathered in the field. The first implementation of this new technology comes in the form of Fusion Rifles.” Fortune favors the brave, we’re told. Bravery, it turns out, is requisite for anyone fortunate enough to wield a Fusion Rifle. “One of the first working prototypes was deemed too unstable for mass production,” recalls Goff. “Despite the concerns over faulty radiation shielding, the weapon's incredible power has made it a favorite of daring weapons collectors.” Newer generations of Fusion Rifles have solved some of these problems through slow and painful innovation. “The barrel configuration on this model dampens the wattage use needed to power the inertial chamber,” observes Art Lead Tom Doyle. The technical jargon translates to brute force that any Guardian would value. “Its over-penetrating burst fire is ideal for taking out multiple targets at once.” The Conduit F3 is next generation hardware for killing the bad guys who deserve it. Charge it up, and let it off the chain. Disclaimer: Destiny is a work in progress!
  13. Personally I don't think there's really going to be that much difference. For me BF3 plays the about the same as MW3 did connection wise, namely great for the most part with a laggy game on occasion (my connection issues with BO2 are well documented )
  14. Not necessarily true. They may not have had the resources to make it happen before. Also completely possible that they lied about it
  15. ^ Valid point. I think I meant that longer time to kill means that more gun skill is required. I'd agree that HC takes more of what we might call "tactical skill" and less gun skill, while core would be the other way around.
  16. See, to me longer time to kill = more skill required. I think most of us would agree that, barring lag, CoD is all about reflexes; 90% of the time whoever fires the first bullet wins. I have no problem with that. However, CoD is the king of that type of gameplay. BF3 tried to duplicate it in Close Quarters, but it still doesn't match CoD for fast paced action. I don't want to play a CoD clone on a bigger map with a few vehicles thrown in.
  17. I played a couple more matches last night and TBH, the beta is making me think about cancelling my pre-order and getting Ghosts instead. The time to kill is basically CoD now, so if I'm gonna play CoD I'd rather do it on CoD maps where you can get right back into the action than on BF maps where it takes a while. The main thing I liked about Battlefield was the slower pace, the fact that you actually had time to react when someone started shooting at you and either have time to get into cover or shoot back. That seems to be gone now, so what's the point?
  18. It's well worth it just for the multiplayer. I highly recommend it if you're looking for a change of pace from CoD.
  19. Lots of people are experiencing lag. I think its just an unavoidable part of beta testing.
  20. You know, I don't think I want to play the beta. I think I'd rather just wait a few extra weeks and have the complete, unrestricted story right off the bat.
  21. You won't like it, you can't give the medic an LMG Though the guy with the ammo box can have a carbine.
  22. I'd be very surprised if it had a monthly fee. It's still a pretty radical idea for consoles (are there any besides Elder Scrolls Online?) that's going to be even more unpopular now that three fourths of consoles require a subscription to play online. They'll make their money off DLC and probably microtransactions.
  23. I've got it pre-ordered for PS4.
  24. - What does Destiny do that’s unique? What’s revolutionary that sets it apart? Destiny casts you in the role of the iconic hero, and sets you on an epic journey brimming with heart-pounding action within a living world filled with adventure. You’ll cross paths with other brave heroes on their own quests — story, cooperate, and competitive — and they’ll know exactly how powerful and awesome you are just by looking at the gear you’ve earned. - How many players can team up in Destiny? Our core cooperative nucleus is the Fireteam — a group of three Guardians bound together by blood (and netcode). But whether you’re going it alone, of linked up with a Fireteam, you can still encounter other Guardians as you tackle the larger challenges that you’ll find in public events. There’s no telling how many people you might have to work with to defeat the most dangerous enemies. Of course, other modes like competitive multiplayer, or Raids, will feature player counts well above three — but we’re not talking about those quite yet. Stay tuned! -How does joining a public event work? To join a public event, all you have to do is get within range, and open fire. No lobbies. No loading screens. The frontier is open, and filled with encounters you can join, or skip right past, on your way to something you’ve deemed momentarily more important. - Will there be PvP? Yup! We’re already thumping each other’s skulls in studio-wide playtests, battling other Guardians for glory, bragging rights, and rewards. All the gear you earn in competitive multiplayer can be taken into other modes, too (and vice versa)! -I like to play games solo often. How much can I do alone? Ah, the proverbial Lone Wolf. You can experience Destiny’s story as a party of one, assuming you’re that much of a badass. Destiny will never require you to team up with other people in campaign missions. You’ll see other players along the way, but you can choose to ignore them. That said, we think you’ll find that playing with other Guardians is quick, painless, and a ton of fun. It’s always your choice, though. ‏-How deep does the customization go? All the way down to your bones! Well, maybe not that far, but Destiny will be what you make of it. All of the weapons and gear you can earn in Destiny can be customized — some more than others, but the goal is to let every player tell a story through the gear and abilities they’ve earned and wear. You create a character, pick a class, gender, and race, and then you customize the way you look and fight by completing missions, defeating enemies, or maybe just by exploring the world. -How big is the world map? I’m really excited! Bigger than anything Bungie has ever built. We no longer have mission designers, but world designers, instead. They’re building places worth visiting, exploring, and reclaiming from your enemies. We’re excited, too! We can’t wait to see what you’ll do when you get in there. We’ll be watching! ‏-What kind of endgame things are you planning on implementing to keep this world alive after players have finished? We’re creating a world you’ll want to visit again and again, and it will evolve and change right alongside you. We’re going to fill it up with activities that we think will satisfy a lot of different types of players, or even the different moods you have. That might mean something really challenging on the cooperative front, like a Raid. It might mean that amazing, exotic Sniper Rifle that you’ve been drooling over for the last few months. It might even mean the new twist we’ve put on the as-of-yet-unrevealed game type that makes it feel new and different. 25. Silver Dollar MK.35 A shotgun is more than a weapon. It’s an icon. In a place made strange by the passage of time, the Silver Dollar is as relatable as a lucky coin. The age-old claim to “ride shotgun” calls out to us from a long-forgotten frontier. These time-honored holdout weapons are quite common, and known for their reliability, but that doesn’t mean you can’t take one and make it your own. That sturdy frame can accommodate all of your favorite attachments and accessories. “This custom build is equipped with a catcher and 4 cartridge sidecar,” explains Art Lead Tom Doyle. Adding this weapon to your inventory is just the first step in a long and healthy relationship. Your shotgun won’t just save your life. It will tell people your story, suggesting where you’ve been and what sort of danger you favor. “The paint scheme implies it has seen action near the evacuation site for the last colony ships that escaped the collapse,” Doyle reminisces. For all the ways to defeat your enemies and reclaim our lost frontiers in Destiny, there will still be encounters that beg for nothing more elegant than a trusty pump-action scatter gun. New technology may come and go, but the Silver Dollar boasts a timeless heritage, and a close range kick that will scatter your enemies to the wind. Disclaimer: Destiny is a work in progress!
