I'm a dabbler, not a professional, nor even an amateur. But... If you want to familiarize yourself with basic programming concepts and practices just to see if you like it, then I highly recommend this resource: http://interactivepython.org/runestone/static/thinkcspy/index.html I've done the whole course, including every practice exercise, twice. It's very, very good. If you register, you can save all your code snippets. There's nothing to download; the course provides space to write and run code from the browser. The language it teaches is Python 3 which is a very versatile language, though not hugely popular. The important thing though, is that it's a very easy language to learn and forces you to develop good programming habits. Its syntax is clean and easy to read, making it very friendly to beginners though no less powerful than other languages. If you know what you want to do, then you can consider learning a specific language: iPhone apps: Objective-C Android apps: Java 'Web' programming server-side: PHP, ASP.NET, Java, C/C++, Python, Ruby, etc. (depends on what back-end a website uses) 'Web' programming client-side: JavaScript Web design: CSS, HTML, JavaScript Video Games: C++, Java, C# (Microsoft) Database: SQL What's in demand? (Everyone seems to have a different opinion on this) http://mashable.com/2014/01/21/learn-programming-languages/ http://www.lifehacker.com.au/2014/02/picking-a-programming-language-python-and-java-still-top-the-charts/ https://www.udemy.com/blog/best-programming-language/ http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/career-management/best-programming-languages-to-learn-on-your-own-time/#. I've dabbled in Python, C++, {JavaScript, HTML, CSS} (grouped together because they all work together) and Fortran (many, many moons ago). There are tons of resources out there for each and every language.2 points

So I'm at a urinal, in a club, having a few drinks, and obviously peeing. Diddums phones me drunk, I answer and stop concentrating on peeing. One hand on my weiner and the others holding the phone. Next minute I realise my belt has flipped over and I'm peeing on it. So I created this thread to say..... Fuck you Diddums. Also happy birthday. Also I ain't ginger. Good night folks.2 points

Its because my wife is making me goes clothes shopping tomorrow. I'm thinking of running away from home. I *hate* going to try on clothes, but I haven't bought anything in about 2 years and my collection of pants that are suitable for wearing in public has diminished to the point she's using a female executive order to force me to go to the.....I can hardly say it....the mall. I'll miss you all.1 point

Best Bond

I’d like to participate in this thread but I haven’t seen all of the films. I watched Dr. No last night as a kick start. It was well done for the time. I started getting interested in watching them all when I briefly watched 1974 - The Man with the Golden Gun on TV. I refuse to watch movies on TV so I can’t wait to watch up to it! I have seen Casino Royale & Skyfall. Even though I really enjoyed Casino Royale Craig’s sucked in cheeks and duck face lips disqualify him from consideration in the running. I’ll vote when I’ve done the research.1 point -

You can't count that as a real "Bond" movie because it wasn't actually part of the James Bond series. That was a spoof / parody movie with peter Seller, and Woody Allen. Counting that as a part of the true Bond series would be like counting Space Balls as part of the Star Wars series lol.1 point

@Datte I dunno why I didn't like TWINE; I should have as it had Denise Richards in it also had some pretty good set-pieces but it just didn't grab me in the way I wanted to grab Dr Christmas Jones's boobs1 point -
I'm trying to think of something either witty or consoling, and all I'm coming up with is "I'm also very fucking tired of all of this snow and ice." I dunno, read it in a French accent or something.1 point
