A story I tell myself

I know that the title seems misleading but I'm wondering if there is any aspiring writers here I've been bouncing a story in my head but it sounds like I'm ripping off something that has already been done could you write a story just for the sake of telling to yourself?

I did an online open university fiction writing course during lockdown and have started writing a story myself. Of course you could write a story just to tell yourself, nothing wrong with that. Your story can be for any audience you want it to be, no matter how big or small that audience 🙂

OK cool what's that class called been looking at a video on YouTube called overly sarcastic they talked about trope talk it gives a lot of info

I did a couple, one was called Start Writing Fiction, and i did a second one called Start Writing Fiction: Characters and Stories. I really enjoyed both and they were bith quite short courses. These are the links 🙂

I'm thinking of incorporating the elements (earth, water, air, fire,, light,, and dark) some how I know it's very avatar nothing too original

I'm into horror novels so trying to write something like that, not got very far yet though lol
