You can also tell roughly when an area was captured if you can find a billboard i.e movie release or some other form of advert in the game. I'll have to have a hunt around Chicago and see if I can spot one to find out when the City was scanned.

A buddy of mine living near Wrigley said it's a 6-7 year old scan.

Did a quick check earlier and saw that the restaurant closed in 2016 so that sounds about right. New York seems to be a scan from 2019 but I just flew over Seattle and there is an Xbox 360 advert covering the seats that must be from around 2009!

Bit surprised they are releasing a standalone sequel after initially promising a 10 year commitment to 2020, however all in-game purchases carry forward and this one looks to have a lot of interesting new stuff. Really hope they see it through and fix any outstanding issues because this could piss a lot of people off if it is seen as a double-dipping cash grab release. Fantastic trailer through!

i've been playing this for years and I always wanted to get out. I think the concept of career is pretty cool too, like yes, maybe I want to simply be a bush pilot in Alaska flying the most dope Super Cub and landing on a river bed. Looks like this is out on game pass day one too. I keep forgetting I have that so I'll put that monthly fee to good use lol.

Disaster launch for Flight Simulator 2024! Currently just 16% positive on Steam because the overwhelming majority of people cannot even get into the game. This is completely inexcusable considering this is a sequel running off the same servers and it's Microsoft's Cloud ones on top. Total humiliation for them and it's a huge kick in the teeth as this is one of the most expensive videogames ever ranging from £70 to £200. So glad I didn't pre-order as I feared these issues especially after the back-end state 2020 was in with their dogshit launcher. 

 

The incompetence from Microsoft and Asobo is just insane. 2020 was bad but they got away with it because it was an ambitious title especially from a technical standpoint but this release puts them at square minus one.
