Greboth 2,721
Morning guys, I thought we could have a thread to discuss the actual raid for those of who have attempted it. Just to be sure; *** SPOILERS BELOW! *** *** YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! *** So the raid - oh my god! how huge is it!!! Just loading in to the raid and seeing it in front of you. Whoever this raid is bigger than D1 may not be far wrong! We got through the first room pretty quick though the baths caused us some problem in working out the exact mechanics. Eventually we got the mechanics down and then a few more tries got it done. Due to the rotation of players it seems a fight that goes more and more wrong the longer it goes on so thankfully we managed it in 2 damage phases. We then got up to the dogs and tried to work out the mechanics but by this time it was a later so then spent a lot of time exploring the underside. I wont say how to do or where to go exactly but if you go under the spawn there are rooms with levers which open secret doors - the problem is all you get on screen is "the way is open" so no idea where some of the doors are! We managed to find one though and you go through the tunnels, pipe, up lifts, down drops, jumping puzzles etc. and there are chests in there which seem to require keys from the raid. It also seems a way to skip certain fights as you can get out of these tunnels in to the baths or straight to the dogs which could become useful. A lot of the doors have symbols on like the crossed axes, cup, dog etc. so we were thinking they open once you have done certain bits of the raid or maybe something to do with challenge mode but we couldn't figure it out. Overall, from what I played and explored last night I think it is a very good raid and it will take some time before we know all the secrets of it. Drop wise - I managed to get the raid pulse rifle which is alright actually. All the other drops I got were normal engrams so nothing raid specific. It did boost my level nicely though taking me from 285 to 290 so I can't complain too much. GazzaGarratt 11,056
If you want to run the raid blind still please don't read this! Well it was a long haul but after 4.5 hours we got through 3 phases until getting to the Dogs section which we didn't really try because of the time. Start wise was finding an entrance. Chris found underneath the initial bridge some levers, 6 in fact. We worked out pretty quickly the levers would stay down in the right order. It has to be quick and helps if someone calls out the lever numbers to be pulled. (Corey wrote the combination down, we can add it later). First phase is to then get 3 staffs, in an order, and bring them to a triangular place in the map. You lose a staff if you get overwhelmed and a Centurion gets to one of them so you have to get 3 in a row and defend at the same time. What worked best for us was 2 went to get staffs (you have ads and a boss to kill first each time) whilst the other 4 defend the triangular point. Next is Pools. I think both teams got stuck here but when you know how, in the end it would probably take 15 minutes. Its effectively like the relay totem in Oryx with 4 plates in corners and you have to pick up orbs to get a buff. What that does when you stand on the plate is make the chain infront of you go down. You need to keep switching with a runner either side to keep momentum going. Once all done that a bong will go and you get around the middle. The buff btw allows you to run in the black water without damage. You then have to get the protection in the middle ring and shoot 9 purple hanging bell things. I don't know how many phases you get but its a struggle if you do take 3/4 gos. We did it in 2 which was mental but amazingly rewarding. You then have to do the staffs again. Felt more intense. We then got to a phase with dogs that you can't shoot. Felt very mechanic based but we stopped at that point. MrBiron 1,453
Do you actually NEED a team of 6 to do it like in the first game? Link to comment https://forevergaming.co.uk/forum/forums/topic/4923-raid-discussion-spoilers-duh/#findComment-95693 Share on other sites
Greboth 2,721
I suppose getting the 3 staffs could be done with 2 players but that would be a shit ton of enemies to deal with single handed. The baths you have to charge all 4 plates so short of a glitch I can't see how you could have less than 4. Though timings may be too tight so you might have to have the extra 2 players being runners either side. The rest I don't know yet. Certainly for some of the secret stuff you do as 6 levers need to be pulled with specific timing. The3rdWalker 1,271
Quote Leviathan Raid Guide Part 1: Embankment After starting the Raid, proceed forward until you'll encounter enemies. These foes won't harm you unless you shoot them; attack them or run past them. Proceed up the slope and head through the door. Part 2: Leviathan Castellum (Part 1) Upon reaching the Castellum, you'll begin a trial that has you claiming and defending three Standard. To accomplish this, your group should separate into two teams: one to defend the a central point where the Standard are to be taken, and another to retrieve them from their respective bearers. Keep in mind that if the Cabal manage to get too close to the central point, then the trial will restart. Once all three Standard have been returned, a door will open up the path ahead where you'll find the first of the Leviathan Raid loot chests, containing a Legendary engram, the Calus' Selected shader, and the Emperor Calus Tokena Token. Part 3: Royal Pools In the next section, you’ll encounter four pressure plates, with a fifth located at the center. Each of these plates has an orb on it that imbues you with a one-minute buff that protects you from environmental damage. Make sure you and your teammates activate this buff before starting the trial, as standing in the water in this area without it will quickly drain your health. Once you’re ready, have four of your teammates stand on each pressure plate. The premise of the trial is as follows: four people must maintain position on their respective pressure plates to slowly raise a weight up a chain that will expose nine lanterns that you need to destroy. But as you’d expect, powerful enemies spawn, making the process significantly more difficult. As the assault wages on, make sure you and your teammates keep re-activating the buff. Once all the lanterns are destroyed, the trial will end and a loot chest will spawn containing an Emperor Calus Token. Part 4: Leviathan Castellum (Part 2) The next section has you once again defending and retrieving three Standards. However, this time around the central point you must defend has switched places with one of the points in the surrounding area. Regardless, utilize the same two-team strategy to complete the trial. After you've succeeded, a loot chest will spawn containing glimmer. Part 5: Pleasure Gardens The next trial is trickier than the previous two. First, eliminate the enemies you see before heading towards the massive golden statue. Have two of your teammates pick up orbs and charge them at the light beams scattered around the area. An opening should appear beneath the statue; remaining members should then grab the pollen inside. The members up top must then guide pollen holders to special flower scattered around the area. But be careful, there are six Warhounds wandering the area that can make short work of your teammates if spotted. You also have a limited time to get the pollen holders to a flower before a Warhound's Psionic Howl resets your progress. Regardless, once pollen holders reach a flower, those up top must fire their orbs at the flower to imbue their teammates with a strength buff. Do this two to three times to build up enough power. Once powered up, the pollen holders should then attack the Warhounds. But if a Warhound sees your teammates, they have one minute to damage them and retreat to the safe room below the golden statue. Rinse and repeat this process until the Warhounds are dead. Keep in mind that you only have three solid chances to defeat all six Warhounds, as the safe room will lock up after the third attempt. You'll then get Irrigation Key and a loot chest will appear on top of the safe room containing random loot and an Emperor Calus Token. Part 6: Leviathan Castellum (Part 3) Once again the same principle applies here. Simply utilize the same two-team strategy to obtain the Standards and complete the trial. A loot chest will spawn containing more glimmer. Part 7: The Gauntlet To start the trial, jump onto the round platforms to summon enemies. Steadily kill them to fill up the meter under each pillar in the room. Two orbs will eventually spawn; have two of your teammates pick them up. This transports them into tunnels in the surrounding area. Those in the tunnel need to run through gates with rows of circles on them. Energy barriers close off these uniquely designed gates, so tunnel runners need to quickly call out which gate's row of circles has a red one. Teammates outside then have a limited time to shoot at the rows of glowing triangles on the corresponding gate that doesn't contain a red circle. Successfully doing this will open up the gate, clearing the path for the tunnel runners. The two tunnel runners converge and throw their orbs into an energy fountain. Once you have completed this three games, your entire team can go to the middle and grab an orb and run through the tunnels. After the entire team throws their orbs into the energy fountain, the trial will end. Part 8: Emperor Calus After clearing the third Castellum challenge, you'll be led to Emperor Calus' throne room. To initiate the battle, shoot the cup from his hand, and he'll start spawning enemies into the room for you to fight. Eventually, Calus will teleport three players into a purple dimension to do battle with a giant projection of his head, while the other three will be left to defend themselves in the throne room. Four Psions then spawn in the throne room each with a symbol floating above them--make sure your teammates don't kill them. Those transported inside the purple dimension will each notice a different symbol on the Calus projection's forehead. Each player needs to shout out the symbol they see to their teammates in the throne room. The players back in the real world must then kill the Psion aligned with the symbol that wasn't called out. This lowers the barrier surrounding the Calus projection's head. The Calus projection will then begin to spew skull projectiles. When this barrage is over, orbs will spawn that can take the players back into the throne room. At this point, everyone should climb on whichever platform is glowing in the throne room in order to receive the Force of Will buff. Fire at Calus until he becomes invincible, and then move to the next glowing platform to shoot at him again. Make sure to avoid his attacks during this portion of the fight; it can instantly wipe out your team. Rinse and repeat this process until he goes down. i7 7700k, 16GB RAM, GEFORCE 1080, 240GB SSHD, 2TB SSD Link to comment https://forevergaming.co.uk/forum/forums/topic/4923-raid-discussion-spoilers-duh/#findComment-95718 Share on other sites

Baabcat 1,646
So I managed to finish the raid today. Overall I actually quite like it. It's taking some flak on the bungee forum but given it's the first week I can see all the encounters becoming reasonably straightforward quite quickly. Certainly after suffering for hours at every part, I have learned the most pretty well Biggest problem seems to be th epelasure gardens, confuses the hell out of me and I waste most damage phases actually looking for a dog, even though I know they go to their flowers. People who can navigate the floor and know exactly where everything in have my respect. Baths, Gauntlet, Final boss, all seeme d ok, heard final boss can be very buggy but I had a sweet run in it when I did it Biggest issue is the loot system,I can't describe it as anything other than shit. Do all the work to get a key or a bloody token, and then have to go and find a way into the ship to collect a bunch of engrams that drop les than your current light. I dropped the chest at th end but haven't had chance to see if it has any perks that help in the raid. I dropped the sub machine gun at dogs, no raid perks, no reason to use it instead of the mida mini tool. Haven't been to the emissary yet so might get something there but not impressed. loot system seems to be designed to encourage wandering round an empty ship, just to extend playtime, big fail Bungee. GazzaGarratt 11,056
No perks on the guns which isn't ideal but then again to get raid gear to have perks to beat the same raid for me seemed absolutely pointless so I'm fine with that. Yep, tokens being removed after today is pretty poor. That'll be changed within 4 weeks is my bet. There's no logic to it. GazzaGarratt 11,056
We'll need to unspolier this thread soon Raid this week rotates the bosses - Dogs first, Gauntlet then Baths before Calus. Dogs is the hardest part out of all of it tbh so would be good to get some pointers on this first if you have some. Greboth 2,721
With the dogs is that you need people to know where they are going so if you call trees, rocks etc. or even when you go for a damage phase how to get to their dogs. The problem is that if you're running around on the floor it is hard to see and so can be hard to know where you're going at first. A few tips though; - Once you have killed the stuff in the room, the next part of the fight doesn't start until you pick up the crystals and so gives people time to walk around getting a little familiar with the layout. - If you're on the floor stick together in a group, hopefully at least one person on the floor knows the arena well enough. - Those who are up top with the crystals will be directing and can, if need be, use the crystals laser thing as a pointer to mark a 'go here' - Don't kill the dogs! This is important, once you kill a dog the timer is much shorter so you are best getting them all weak then killing them all in the same round. The mechanics of the fight are; - You split up in to 2 groups, 2 stay up top with the crystals and take left flowers or right flowers and use the light things to charge the crystals - The group of 4 run around in a group on the floor collecting the pollen buff without being seen by the dogs - 2 of the 6 flowers will glow which the 4 on the ground have to get to and once there one of the people with crystal shoot the flower to give the buff - After this 2 yellow bars spawn (I think Centurions) which those with the crystals will need to kill - Repeat this with the next flowers to increase your damage buff - Damage the dogs and then run back to centre room (not sure exactly how much time you have) The way I did it was following the above; - Assign a dog to each player, the ones up top are best getting the furthest away ones. - Aim to collect a x24 or x36 buff (2 or 3 flowers) then go to designated dog and damage it. Best bet for damage is throw a grenade them super, swords or the exotic fusion rifle (I forgot its name) but importantly don't kill your dog! - Run back to the centre room to begin round 2 of the fight. You have a bit of time here so you can discuss damage done to your dog. - If you have them all low enough, to the same as above then kill all 6 dogs, if not repeat as a damage phase again then on the 3rd round kill the dogs. I believe you can one phase it but you need a high buff, I think x 60, so you need to get 5 flowers which is difficult. Baabcat 1,646
I did dogs this week and it seemed a lot easier than last week, more people had an idea and increased power level works to buff damage (I assume), so they were easier to take down i personally find the sneaking about a bit disorientating and was finding it hard to find my dog. So this time around I went up top, my view this is a nice job, and as Greboth says if you take the furthest away dog you are in a great position to get to it quick. I would recommend people not to shy away from the using the crystals job, it's not that tricky and also a good way of learning the map. Keep that map diagram Corey posted open on an iPad and it's not too tough Link to comment https://forevergaming.co.uk/forum/forums/topic/4923-raid-discussion-spoilers-duh/#findComment-96089 Share on other sites
