Anyone getting this next week? I've been totally dismayed at what the Resident Evil series has become for years but this game looks like it's going to go back more to its horror roots and away from action. I played the Beginning Hour demo/teaser which was interesting and it looks like RE7 is going to work well in first person. Also looks like it's tailor made for VR but even without; it's likely to be a very atmospheric and shit your pants scary experience!

Really enjoyed the demo but simply don't have time to dedicate to this...I agree it seems to be the atmospheric and shit your pants experience we all want from RE.

I'll get it at some point though

Great game so far! Still haven't finished but it's been fantastic throughout. It's very similar to the classic games in terms of tone and structure but the first person perspective brings it in-line with the immersive modern horror games we have today such as Alien Isolation and Outlast. I think the Resi series is finally back and it's definitely worth a purchase if you can squeeze it in within the coming months

I watched two entire playthroughs on Twitch; one with VR and one with PC. This game was great to watch but I'm too much of a pussy to play it myself.

I'm pretty much like you Rob, however my mate at work has it and i'm soooo tempted to get it...and maybe even the VR. It's a shit ton of money but the idea of playing this and maybe with a friend to help you guide through it would be epic. Apparently the boss fights are brilliant too and the scores on metacritic seem justified.
