I am reading that the PC port is totally unoptimized, and it is locked at 30 FPS

Any of you guys experiencing this?

The reviews are tanking for it all over the place

Update:

You can edit the FPS settings in the INI file

Here is a video playthrough, my favorite part is when he calls in the Bat Mobile, also the fact that it is prompting for PS4 buttons on PC

Luke 23:34
'And Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they don't think it be like it is, but it do."

I was experiencing graphic issues (textures are wet and shiny looking in the game, instead of it looking like that it was blindingly bright and metallic) I had to update my video card drivers to fix it.

My non AMD rig is pretty old now and I only have a 2GB GPU so when I did the performance benchmark with highest settings/everything on I was surprised to see I maxed out at 52fps and tanked at 21. Not smooth ones either, violent frame drops. The video above skips more than my PC did when calling the car but there are definitely frame drop, slow down performance issues not related to the computer being able to run it.

Moding the .ini for at least 60fps is easy enough but they need to fix it first. It's not perfect but it's definitely playable. "We are working closely with our external PC development partner to make sure these issues get resolved as quickly as possible." WHAT!

I've just had a brief play of the game and it's a stuttering mess. The truth is all coming out now - they offloaded the PC port to a shitty studio called Iron Galaxy and they've delivered what is basically an old gen console game. As if 30fps isn't bad enough; framerate going between 10-20fps standard and then fluctuating like crazy after I edited the config file - it's a total shambles. Glad I only coughed up £21 for this POS. Hopefully they'll patch the hell out of it shortly and Rocksteady get their arses into gear and do the job they were supposed to. Feel sorry for the people that spent £60+ with the season pass but at least they can get refunds now.

Why do you have to mod the ini file for a brand new game in 2015?

That honestly makes no sense to me

Luke 23:34
'And Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they don't think it be like it is, but it do."

I haven't experienced any voice stuttering or long pauses just a little skipping around from frame plunges here and there but for it to be totally unplayable day 1 for most is unacceptable. I also would not have pre-ordered it without taking advantage of the $36 Premium Edition promotion. (It's $32.99 now :P)

Cunts! ;)

The game has currently been suspended from sale in the Steam Store.

I flagged the product for 'False Advertising' after they published the statement:-

"WBGames is working with the PC DEVELOPER IRON GALAXY to address the issues ASAP. Rocksteady will provide any support to get this resolved."

As the listed developer is Rocksteady on their store page which contradicts what they said in their message. If I knew beforehand that this was an Iron Galaxy port; I wouldn't have fucking bought it B)

All round wankers. Remind me never to buy a Rocksteady game on PC, some reject company probably did the work.

In this day and age of project management there is no excuse for this. If it doesn't work, don't release it.

Maybe the adage 'all publicity is good publicity' actually means something to some of these dicks.

link? I don't think I have you on steam

I've added you Bart - had to dig you out through Joe's profile to find your account :)

I've managed to get about 10 hours of gameplay out of AK so far - epic game but shit port. I'm playing on dramatically reduced settings with 60fps and it's running reasonably well but it's not what I invested in that's for sure  What's more embarrassing is all the specialist nVidia additions are recommended to be turned OFF for a better performance - that's like being invited to a swanky party but not being allowed in the bloody door! Can't see it being patched anytime soon either.

I've heard people saying this about the game, but there are a few people who aren't experiencing too much problems.

Funhaus' latest podcast is somewhat centred around it and from what I've seen from them playing it, it doesn't seem that bad.

I only saw one noticeable framerate drop in like an hour of them playing.

Can't see it being patched anytime soon either.

There was a patch Saturday night. It was like 65MB though; might not have noticed it downloading...

http://steamcommunity.com/games/208650/announcements/detail/145587678178226617

It only addressed:

  • Fixed a crash that was happening for some users when exiting the game
  • Fixed a bug which disabled rain effects and ambient occlusion. We are actively looking into fixing other bugs to improve this further
  • Corrected an issue that was causing Steam to re-download the game when verifying the integrity of the game cache through the Steam client
  • Fixed a bug that caused the game to crash when turning off Motion Blur in BmSystemSettings.ini. A future patch will enable this in the graphics settings menu

I used this guide to tweak the the FPS from 30 to 120 which allowed me to put the texture settings back to max with no issues, and I disabled the splash screens by having the game load directly into the title screen. Which I prefer! The FPS bump sure does make it behave better.

I didn't even notice the update until today  I've configured it so it's running pretty well now although not maxed out as the game itself isn't even optimised to have that option in it's current state

One of the QA testers for the PC version has come out and said that WB knew a long time ago about the problems but carried on regardless.

Interesting that at a time when PC gaming is gaining in popularity the big boys seem to keep putting out shoddy unfinished PC games on launch.

I'm sure it's nothing to do with the fact that a new generation of consoles need to be sold.

I 'finished' Arkham Knight yesterday - excellent game throughout but just a tragedy it had to be played on such low settings  I did the main story and all the side quests minus finishing the Riddler trophies and it took 35 hours which was great for £21. Still have the Harley Quinn DLC to do but I'll probably run through that post-patch but wont be indulging in any other season pass content under the shitty circumstances on release. £33 for the pass is a fucking joke even if the game was epic and flawless at launch. May do the Riddler trophies now and again and try to get all 250-odd but I'm feeling a bit burnt out with it at this moment in time. Brilliant game though

I'm at 65%, I think, and I'm kind of burnt on it too. It really is a great game, arguably the best of the series, but it does get tiresome having to do the same shit over and over. People here have expressed their dislike of Far Cry and Assassins Creed being very repetitive. This might have them beat. I agree if it ran better it might make up for it.

so much fail. Glad to see they are now finally offering full refunds.

This is why shit shouldn't be ported from console to PC. It never works right.

(PC-> Console does work right typically though lol)
