I can understand them wanting to broaden their appeal outside of rich old white dudes but this new marketing campaign and car is unlikely to be the way

NEWS.SKY.COM

Jaguar's boss says 'we want to be bold and disruptive' as its new electric car, which is expected to cost more than £100,000 when the production version hits the market, was unveiled at an event in Miami.

This will probably be a Bud Light 2.0 moment but probably way more damaging.

For anyone that didn't see the original promo

I mean, where the fuck is the car? The logo is hideous too.

And this is the brains behind it all

If you gave me a million guesses, I'd never even think it was a car let alone Jaguar.

I guess guys your next purchase will be a Ferrari instead lol

I didn't know Jaguar had new cars, I do now, you've advertised them for free 🤪

I’m more of a Porsche man myself.

People that watched the advert didn’t know Jaguar had new cars either, you’re not the only one.

Well this was expected

Jaguar's European sales tanked to just 49 cars in April 2025 after a divisive rebrand and EV pivot. Can the iconic...

it’s amazing how normal people could see this happening but corporate marketing executives couldn’t😂

49 cars sold in one month globally has to be a record low!

Yes, definitely the woke advert.

Couldn’t possibly be they stopped building Jag’s 6 months ago so don’t have the product to sell.  But I guess that doesn’t fit the anti-woke agenda or make clickbait headlines.

That's funny because my local Jag dealership which I pass 10 times a week has a forecourt of about 70 of them and they ain't shifting. There is nothing clickbait about it - their sales have dried up and that's from their own press release. Just because their lines may be stalled doesn't mean there aren't tens of thousands of cars dotted around for sale.

I’m not saying sales haven’t stopped.  I’m saying it’s clickbait as the headline is Jag sales decline after woke ad then article goes on to explain the decline is a trend long before the ‘woke’ advert, dealers not having stock to sell and no new models to drive interest (though there are other factors too).

If ‘clickbait’ offends, how about sensationalist then? Why is it a surprise that a company saying we’re going to stop selling these products then has poor sales of said product?  Where’s a shocked pikachu when you need one.

There’s something funny about your anecdotal evidence for the numbers of cars when I know precisely how many they are.

These types of articles are designed to stoke or play up to people's fears or prejudice and I suppose some amongst us are more easily manipulated than others 🤪

There is plenty of stock to sell - it's just not selling and to shift the blame on shipping and production is nothing more than a corporate cope. You can get a brand new pre-brand Jag cheaper than ever now but they aren't selling and people can bury their heads in the sand about the rebrand being not to blame, but that is clearly an aggravating factor. Jaguar was alienating its customers and brand identity long before the advert was published anyway, when a full compliment of stock was being manufactured and shipped, so it's clear this is a long-term problem and the rebranding is a culmination of everything in the last 18 months.

At my dealership, you can get as 74 plate XFR for £24,995 brand new and it's not selling. Two years ago, the same vehicle was £36,000 and people would bite your hand off at that price. So despite a surplus of stock and a 25% markdown, there doesn't seem to be much demand and this is up and down the country. I very much doubt we'll see a 10,000% influx when the new range is available and I doubt that's what customers are waiting for.
