The price increase is effective immediately for new subscribers and it goes up for existing ones on November 4th. The silly thing about it is they are bloating the pass with more day one games which means the pot has to increase i.e the price goes up significantly yet the revenue splits will probably decrease especially if Microsoft want their first party tiles to have the majority share. Some developers will probably be lucky to receive $0.25 an install at this rate! They should just have 3 flagship games a month and then 12 others and then switch it up. This will allow other games to have some breathing space at retail and allow for some proper revenue to be earned. Microsoft need to accept they wont beat Sony especially with business models like this.

I looked and my price is not increased at the moment. Don't know if it's new subscription or what. But my Oct/15 price will be what I paid in September. People have to remember that they need to pay the price to play online (both PSB/XBOX). the cost of the GAME pass is whatever is the difference. People can decide if that is worth it to them or just move over to steam.
-
It gets worse. I have it for free because of Game pass which I will cancel once my price goes up. But it was just sitting there waiting to be played yesterday when I looked so I figured I would give it a go. Time would have been better spent watching reruns of Mr Bean for the 30th time

I don't think I'll bother with the beta - I got motion sickness just watching a few gameplay videos from COD Next!

I think they will ultimately sell off BioWare and it'll be the correct decision for all parties. The studio has been a mess for well over a decade with several high profile departures and below-par games in terms of quality and the number of players. The new owners wont support a lot of the material in these games and the developers wont be willing to work for a company that don't share the same ideas or have their creativity restricted. I think the upcoming Mass Effect may get to market under EA considering how much money they've bankrolled BioWare over the years but I reckon they will go their separate ways eventually.

I have nosed at game pass recently there are a few games on there I could quite happily play and may still pick up (not ultimate mind). That said you can see that there must be issues behind the scenes financially with everything they produce at the moment going up and up in price, I do think that with some of their recent acquisitions they must not have made anywhere near the amount of money they needed to, to justify the purchases. That said if Sony keep their subscription as is I can see it really pushing Microsoft's Xbox side of things further down the crapper.
-
I do wonder if with the 'inclusivity' in Mass Effect and Dragon Age with regards to genders and same sex relationships if the next games do come to fruition if we will see that side of things scaled back in the next games. That said I think this purchase is about the multiplayer and esports side of things and can see a lot of their single player stuff disappearing over the coming years.

A new Advanced Warfare sounds amazing to me. I'm now looking forward to playing the beta.
-
I played 3 matches on the Beta today. It's Advance Warfare named B07. Wall jumping, double jump, OCD movement. I'm not going to be playing that shit Guess they didn't get the memo last time about that movement non sense

Microsoft has raised the Game Pass ultimate price meaning a near-50% increase and an extra £100 a year. It's now $30. The cancellation page was so overloaded last night, it crashed too! Hogwarts Legacy has been added yet you can get that in the sale for £8 on PC and the new price makes purchasing games like the new COD outright far more attractive. These 'upgrades' that MS are using to justify it bear absolutely so benefit to gamers who just want to play games on the pass on their overly-expensive console. Putting more games on the pass means a higher price as developers will be vying for a cut so this is also counter-productive especially if gamers collectively aren't interested in the majority of titles on there. The whole Xbox brand has become extortionate for very little return these days. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Price Rises to $30 a Month, Microsoft Adds More Day One Games and Throws in Fortnite Crew and Ubisoft+ Classics to Help Justify the Cost - IGN WWW.IGN.COM Microsoft has kicked off October by announcing a significant price rise for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which comes just over a year after the last price rise for the subscription service.

you need your herbal tea grandpa :D. (I totally agree with you 🥷) By the way, that reminds me that I'm waiting for BULKHEAD's game. They're developing a game similar to BF. They already released Battalion 1944, a game similar to Cod 4 Promod, which was excellent but unfortunately died a while ago. If it could be a future competitor to BF, that would be good !

Thankfully Bf6 will sort out my FPS this year as Bo7 looks like dog egg. To me it looks worse than bo6. Also everything I've heard of seen from CoD next looks so fake, they have no interest in the game it came across as one of these generic infomercials that's trying to sell crap to idiots. 🤣

I watched a video from somebody at COD Next and they said the maps are really good this time around. They feel like actual MP maps rather than a bit of the Warzone map that's been turned into a MP map. That's good for me as the maps were my biggest gripe with BO6.
-
I miss the days when developers would just throw all the content in day one and people would be happy playing for months. This seasonal shite is so tiresome now.

This year's 'COD Next' served up everything wrong with Call of Duty: Nonstop ads, manufactured hype, and a stagnant game | PC Gamer WWW.PCGAMER.COM Black Ops 7's big multiplayer debut was loud and insecure.

Nothing will change in terms of leadership but I think they will be more aggressive with monetisation to try and overturn their debt as quickly as possible - something Microsoft seem to be struggling massively with after the Bethesda and Activision buyouts. A new Battlefield game every year has already been announced for the near future and I wouldn't be surprised if this was a condition for the takeover to be completed. I also think this will finally be the final nail in the coffin for BioWare, certain design philosophies and see a huge shift to live service exclusively. Another concern is kernal-level material going to yet another continent.
-
I honestly don't think much will change, the games won't improve but they will want to continue making a profit, this is all part of them trying to diversify income by moving away from just oil. They have taken steps into the gaming industry elsewhere and I suspect they may push esports more on the EA titles as well.
-
Looks nothing like the trailer - basically the same as BO6 but with a futuristic skin. The movement looks absolutely ridiculous

Yeah it's complete nonsense. 95% of stock is already landed so they are upping the price on products already shipped that retailers are selling on commission. The game pass isn't performing as well as it should, they've also culled several studios and cancelled many games plus money is being freed up and funnelled into their AI division. Plus the acquisition of Bethesda and Activision is a monumental debt on their books that needs to be turned around. I would love for them to release a detailed breakdown on how much revenue each game makes as a dividend on the game pass especially when compared to retail and projected potential missed. That would be telling.

They are blaming the tarriff's, but they are made predominantly in China aren't they? So I get the arguement then for raising prices in the US but not elsewhere. I suspect this is more that they are not making as much money from the consoles as they had hoped, they don't seem to understand that it is solely their fault. I mean everyone enjoys an era where games are more open and available on all consoles but the only first party stuff Microsoft has made since the launch of these consoles is flight simulator & Gears of war remastered remastered for a second time. There is no reason in today's world to buy an xbox console as far as I can see, to sell a product it still need's to have something that makes it stand out from competitors and they just don't have that. They have completely bottle this era, I mean Sony have not done a good job but Microsoft just blew them out of the water.
