So its a population control game, so every time you need another squad of soldiers, you need to have 4 people sitting around unemployed. Survivors wander around and they either attack you, join you, or run away from you. Your citizens can have kids, which grow pretty fast, I think a full year (12 days) gets them to where they can have jobs, this is helped by having a school set up. The most I have had so far is around 300 people, which took around 80 in game years. I am well on my way to more, but the swarms of zombies hitting me are slowing me down a lot

First Person mode and Third Person mode confirmed and you can flip between the two during the game. Sounds like a really interesting take. You do find the later games do really well with the newer generation of RE followers. They love First Person. Us oldies may enjoy the nostalgia of some third person in certain areas.

Some really good thoughts from the Demo that was available for RE9.

@slamminbones You really have been slamming it bones at the races. Don't know how you do it. Like you say, you must get a huge kick out of competing in one of these, so much so it drains you by the end. Have you been running in this heat btw? I think if I wanted to lose 4 stone, all I would've had to do was run every day this past week. Scorching over here.

Looks great, definitely feels like a spin of Command & Conquer a little bit too. How do you create more soldiers for your side, or do you have a set amount and it can only go down?

@TheMuggySpud will deffo play this I'm sure. I know Hector, Rob and Josh from the States still do too. I'd probably have to organise a night to be free as I don't think its just a pick up and play for an hour mode. Siege has never been that!

Tell you what @phil bottle, I'll let you try it first and then you can tell me how frustrating but fun this could be 😅 I don't think its a bad call that the other survival games are adding a little more support in the UI, storage or even objective based elements. I know how brutal DayZ was for us and I can see me absolutely raging at this for bleeding to death by tripping on a stick no doubt. Having said that, they do have bikes, soooo......🤣

Okay..... Edinburgh might have been a mistake..... apparently the scots really like to turn zombie. I've never seen hordes this big in game before.
-
Changed over to Edinburgh to build and it forced me to use the Castle.... Oh No! whatever will I do with massive stone walls and insanely huge buildings to use as shelter and warehouses... Honestly I am loving this game, let me know if you all have places you want me to check out

I forgot to say that those pics are at night, I need to get some day time pics, but thats why they are so dark and washed out.

I've had this one on my backlog for a while now, and I have no idea why I haven't played it before now, because DAMN Okay, so its a Zombie apocalypse/ City Builder type game. It takes Google Maps data to create your play area..... I started a map, with my house as the HQ, and it has been amazing so far. You can create any location in the world. The game uses the map data to sort out how difficult of a time you will have. Cities obviously are the worst locations. The maps are not perfect, in that it assumes the sizes of the houses based off of google footprint. So in my case it has my house slightly smaller than it actually is, because the google map image isn't current. (See the screenshots below) You can dismantle houses for resources, and you find settlers all over the place. There is a story, that I won't spoil because I think I am about a third of the way through it, I could be wrong there though. I am way to busy farming resources to build a fortress to worry about other survivors in DC and Baltimore. Two gripes people have about the game: Zombies can cross any body of water, so can your squads. The Dev's did this for pathing reasons, as the game is still in Early Access, and I guess trying to differentiate water on a google map is hard when importing data. IDK, it doesn't' phase me, I just build more walls Radio transmissions are frequent, and can't be ignored. You have to choose an option, but luckily it does pause the game for you. That being said if you don't choose an option quickly the npc's will get grumpy. So the screenshots I am attaching are of my play area. The "Star" is my house, the HQ, the rest are shelters, and warehouses I am setting up, along with some build orders, etc. I zoomed really far out for these so you could see the street names and more of the play area.

This game has now come out of early access and 1.0 is live. They have bicycles now too 🤪
-
It's a shame, I was going to pick this up but I suspect it was a case of being too ambitious with the budget they had available. They should have drawn some elements back and improved others so it was a bit more polished then you build upon the rest with game 2 if your first game goes well.
-
This does look like they've gone down an interesting road. I think Siege unfortunately suffers from what many existing live service games have - ability to be a really good game...but only when you've learned all the characters and the maps, otherwise its a steep curve to get success. I'd like to give it a go though and its a good thing some of the options are free to play too!

I've honestly tried to play Witcher 3 so many times, both on console and PC, and I just can't seem to get along with it. Maybe if 4 has a 1st person option I'll have more joy.
-
That as a tech demo is probably something we have all been waiting to see on a PS5 since it launched. I think most people will need to at least try this game out to see and feel how it plays. I've started to try and play Witcher 3 but I must admit that the controls do feel clunky so hopefully that will be updated to feel more inline with most other games that are currently out.

I saw a post a few weeks ago on what the game would actually look like without any of the stolen assets and it looks like some gigantic placeholder. The amount of stuff they lifted is absolutely insane and makes up virtually the entire games stylised aesthetics. I believe they are still auditing their asset library and the amount of stuff they will have to replace from scratch is crazy. Without the stolen material, they literally have no brand or game.
-
I honestly wonder if this is the first step towards cancelling it. Bungie/ Sony sunk a lot of money into it, but if the artists of the stolen assets decide to sue, it might not matter

Bungie have today announced that Marathon has been delayed indefinitely and a new release date will be issued towards the end of the year. Honestly, I'd probably just cancel it altogether and cut the losses. A 6 month delay at the very least wont give them enough time to replace all the stolen assets, reshape the gameplay into something engaging and appealing, plus deliver a long-term strategy where the game remains viable for both players and publisher.

Ok, it's actually just Rainbow 6 with brand new visuals etc
