So I had not planned to with selling the house currently but I generally can't resist a console launch. Got up launch day morning and thought I would have a look at the Argos near me, lo and behold they had some in stock so now I am a happy owner of a new console and the new mario kart. I have only briefly played it thus far and will give it some more time the weekend but initial thoughts. So the biggest thing I have noticed so far really is the quality of life improvements, this console is very much an improvement on the original Switch which in itself was a great console. The larger screen, the HDR, the joycons feel better build quality and the device itself feels more premium. Then the eshop works immensely better than it does on the OG, it was always my biggest gripe with the OG console and the lending of virtual games, I intend to package up my OLED and give it to the kids for Christmas this year. Setting up the family and being able to lend them games will be great, it suddenly gives them quite a large library of games to play straight off without faffing about so much with primary and secondary consoles and such. Mario Kart seemed fun as it always does, the open world aspect seems a bit of a bolt on rather than a key feature of the game which is surprising. I was expecting a more Forza type experience if I'm being honest. I have also continued my Pokemon playthrough on this and it is noticeably better in terms of performance and visuals. I think the big test for me is I am yet to play tears of the kingdom, I think I will pay the 7.99 upgrade and give that a go and see how it looks and how that performs over the weekend.

Iām well up for Verdansk coming back, got proper nostalgia thinking about the old drop spots. Hopefully it's not just a short event and we get some time to enjoy it.

Visually it looks brilliant, I just wonder how the series will cope moving onto a new protaginist. Though we know Ciri's story for some we have had 3 games of Geralt's character development and seeing a whole story arc go through it's motions. I think it will rest on the writer's somewhat who presumably have created a whole new story for the next chapter of the Witcher games. That said I will be diving right into this as the third game is still my favourite to date despite the clunky combat.

I watched Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning the other day and enjoyed it. I did think the film was a bit long though and it was bloated with too many characters and poorly written exposition. Some strong character performances especially from the villains and the action was plentiful.

I think it was always going to get mixed reviews as an expansion style update will never hit as well as the first installment of the game. I bet most Elden Ring lovers will absolute love this new one. Not sure what things you'd change from a model that many loved - and by not changing much, critics will end up having a go at it. Not sure they can win on the review side.

These games I feel I always want them but never at the price they go out at, as its very similar to FIFA. Not much has changed in the past few versions and whilst I love F1, I don't think this pulls me in like I would hope it would. £20? Yeah, why not. Although in 18 months it'll probably be worth a fiver.

Don't worry, you have the amazing Club World Cup renovation happening on your door step this Summer! š Unfortunately thats the stupid way the game has gone given all these ridiculous penalties so I don't blame them too much. Ironically it looks more unnatural that your arms are behind your back but the refs won't agree with that view anymore.

2 days into the transfer window and Leeds have been linked with 100 different players so far š We were apparently after Keleher but he's gone to Brentford which is understandable. Signing for a newly promoted club is risky because the trend from the past few seasons if for promoted clubs to go straight back down. I've seen reports that Calvin Phillips might be coming back but I'd rather he didn't. Man City fucked his career. Everton are supposedly after Solomon. I can't help thinking he'd pick us over them and if actually leaves Spurs. I've seen loads of our fans moaning like fuck because we haven't signed anybody yet š I'd much prefer it if we actually took our time and signed the right players.

It was a pretty one sided game from the off. I thought Inter would give then a good game but no...and they wasted the few chances they had. Should also say i think defenders who hold their hands behind their back get what they deserve š

Game is coming along nicely, I'll jumping on this evening to test the latest patch.

Play offs are on at the moment, we are in division 2 so this is probably going to be tougher than usual (we generally finish div 3 or 4!) so bring your A game tonight and let's see how many wins we can get!

PSG absolutely battered Inter tonight! I can't see Spurs posing much threat for the Super Cup Final so much work is needed. Inter just didn't turn up and PSG were totally on it. I really like how they continued to press and try to score more goals - sick of seeing some teams shut up shop with half hour to spare. Could've been 8-0 if Barcola could for once hit the target.
-
Not surprised by the mixed reviews - really silly concept and I will never understand what they were going for. I think some of the positive reviews are reaching but they are too scared to give it a lower score in fear of a backlash.

Getting pretty mixed reviews.
