Website Speed - How is it for everyone?

The title pretty much sums it up. I'm back from my holiday now and after some work prior to holiday from ourselves and a developer helping us, I wondered if it had sped up anywhere?

 

I'm finding the more I use the site, the quicker it becomes. I'm still not happy with loading times on certain specific buttons, most notably the 'Unread Activity'. It works, but it loads after 3-5 seconds sometimes for me.

 

Be honest, we need feedback below otherwise we won't know where to target next to help the site get better so when we start getting loads of buzz going on, I want to know you all can engage and enjoy it together.

Website is bearable for me now, it's not as quick as it was when I joined and like you say, if you use it i.e. move around the site it speeds up after loading a few pages.

 

If I go into a specific thread it loads almost fine, I think the main slow point for me is first accessing the site, I generally load it up from this link -

And that can range in time taken to load from 3 or 4 seconds to 20.

Hello, for some time now I've noticed slightly longer loading times on my end. (I don't have fiber optic internet). I can't say exactly when, but it started after February.

Yes, its being depressing me for some time, and I can only apologise for the issues we have had for a while.

 

The big news is that I've pressed a button behind the scenes that starts the ball rolling on a big change to the future of moving FG forward. I don't want to jump in on it too much right now as we'll need quite abit of work but I'm prepared to make it happen and hopefully we'll have some more hands on support from other FGers to make it so. This place is here for all and I want it to remain that way forever.

I've disabled all plugins and stuff to speed it up a bit whilst @GazzaGarrattand I migrate us to a new host. 

 

During this process I'm also gonna trim back some of the unused guff, so if you're missing any features please let us know. 

 

Any that aren't reported missing for a month will remain in hibernation until needed.

 

Also, all settings and profile stuff is saved, so don't worry about anything being lost, when we reinstate the plugins and mods they'll be there nice and fresh.
