  1. I'm bored of the amount of unnecessary sprays and emblems. If you were in charge what additions would you make? More of something already in the game like skins or Highlight Intros (hell yes for intros), or what about anything completely new and different? Rainbow 6 and Call of Duty added charms which the community asked for, bespoke ones for each character could look really cool.
  2. How is everyone's season going so far? This is the first season where I feel we all started really well. For me, I ended up placing platinum for the first time after placements in possibly 7 seasons. We've tanked a little bit over the last few weeks and maybe need to reset our styles of play every so often. I'm sitting around 2450 after we had a few good wins last night. Our triple tank meta doesn't seem to work well and we sometimes need to switch to DPS a bit quicker I think, regardless of where our ults are charged.
  3. An interesting tweet from Overwatch account displayed the following In the middle of that you'll see a new name not mentioned before - 'Emre Sarioglu'. Is this linked to Reinhardt's origin story by any chance or just shortly after?
  4. until
Comp if there's 6, if more we should get back on the Private Matches as there is some great ones out there. 6v6 if enough turn up. RSVP as per usual to help know who's about and who isn't.
  5. Event Title: Overwatch - Getting Better OR Private Pig Matches Event Author: GazzaGarratt Calendar: Overwatch Calendar Event Date: 02/17/2018 07:30 PM to 02/17/2018 10:00 PM Comp if there's 6, if more we should get back on the Private Matches as there is some great ones out there. 6v6 if enough turn up. RSVP as per usual to help know who's about and who isn't. Overwatch - Getting Better OR Private Pig Matches N.B. If viewing this via the FG App, please visit the Calendar event via browser to RSVP. 6. A notification of an update which should be going live on the PTR today and suggests big changes to Overwatch and team composition. Ana Biotic Rifle Damage decreased from 80 to 60 Biotoc Grenade Impact Damage reduced from 60 to 30 Impact Healing reduced from 100 to 50 Junkrat No longer hurts himself from his own explosions. (Effect added to current passive: Total Mayhem) Orisa Fusion Driver Magazine size lowered from 200 to 150 Supercharger Cost increase by 15% Sombra Stealth Sound effects and VO distance for entering and exiting Stealth reduced to 15 meters Translocator Cooldown reduced from 6s to 4s. Winston Barrier Projector Cooldown now starts when the barrier is placed, instead of when it ends. Zenyatta Orb of Destruction Alternate fire recovery reduced from 1s to 0.6s Orb of Discord Can now target enemies through barriers. So they are added another tank barrier with Orisa, reducing Ana's healing ability and buffing characters to help get through choke points. Is this going to be the end of the tank meta? I think for defending chokes a Reinhardt and/or Orisa (when released) will still be needed. However I am thinking if you Orb of Discord through a shield then a diving character could wreck the Reinhardt or Orisa or even Winston as his Tesla cannon goes through shields.
  7. I was talking to Rich the other night and I think we could defintely start to do this more often. Clearly @tronic44 and @Greboth are the video montage people here that can knock up a montage reasonably quickly so I'm suggesting we have a regular easy routine of: Playing Overwatch Recording gameplay Grabbing the videos stored to put in a central location Rich/Greboth to work their magic The easy bit is just deciding what days all videos need to be with the pair. The medium bit is where to store it. The hardest part is getting the videos off the playstation IF they need to be done in a set way. I'm happy to try out the USB way of doing it but it'll be unfair on the ones that don't have a PC so maybe we trial one with just youtube videos uploads to see what the comparison is? Uploading to youtube straight from PSN is the easiest way of uploading stuff quickly. Thoughts everybody? SUBMIT CLIPS https://www.dropbox.com/request/YHNlMHUiJNOgvLbN8QkR
  8. Alright people I have made it my duty to get a list of each of us that plays Overwatch, along with a list of characters you feel you can play as to a good standard on competitive. We need to start getting better to compete with other teams of 6 players and I figured this would be a good way to start. I will combine everyone into the one post so its all in one place Heres how I want it to shape up: PSN name - Self explanatory Competitive rank - Obviously this will fluctuate a lot depending on play but just a ballpark figure for now will be good, if your rank changes drastically post it on here again Characters - Post at least 3 characters you can play well with on competitive, also in order of who you are best with (Number 1 being your best) Plus any added explanation that's useful would be a bonus So for me it would be: LordBaguette Rank: 2800 Characters: 1. Junkrat 2. D. VA 3. Fucking Hot Healing Chick! 4. Lucio 5. Soldier 6. Hanzo 7. Symmetra 8. Orisa Easy as that
  9. The Overwatch League kicks off tomorrow and to support the league they have created the teams skins for players to buy for their favourite team. You get the chance to get one skin for free and then further ones at £4.99. The difference with these transactions is that instead of going to Blizzard's own pocket, the funds go directly to the prize pot for the Overwatch League. This is how you do microtransactions. Clearly, I'll be supporting London Spirfire and will get the D.Va and Reinhardt skins. *LA Gladiators did not upload a pic as of yet.
  10. until
We haven't grouped up in a while and the update for D.Va and Fucking Hot Healing Chick! has gone live so it seems an ideal time to catch up on OW and see how it all plays out! Grab a beer to bring

  12. Through the release of the new map there is talk the next character will be someone related to Junkrat, more specifically a Queen Junk. There is a throne for her in the new map desicated to Junkrat so all seems reasonable to think this is true knowing Blizzard's track record. Anyone else seen any info on it?
  13. Great news, which was expected anyway. However, Jeff announced a few great bonuses this time round: - New skins - Old skins WILL be available - Old skins can be bought via credits fir the first time - Old skins WILL be discounted - Lucioball is back - New Competitive Lucioball for the first time Not seen a date for it to start but will be open for 3 weeks. Love the idea of competitive Lucioball, didn't play it first time round.
  14. So there was so much disappoint in Terry Crews not coming to Overwatch it seems to have been missed by most he's going to be another game (probably because he's gonna be in a game on the xbox ). However, these videos make me smile so much, the guy is hilarious. The game itself. Well, not sure if its going to be any good as the prequels as not much stands out from these clips. What a man though.
  15. Finally, the Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch has just arrived in the Overwatch PTR, with players on PC and the plan is for it to come somepoint after Summer Games. About time these modes came because you can see this opening up the game more so it's not just about Competitive mode. Love the idea of the 20 points total as well. Details of the mode are below: Deathmatch Eight players go head-to-head until one player scores 20 points. Players will earn 1 point whenever they land the final blow on an opponent and will lose 1 point whenever they die to environmental damage (ex: falling off a cliff) or self-inflicted damage. This scoring will be tracked in a brand-new scoreboard. The first player to 20 points wins.” Team Deathmatch Two teams of four players face off until one team scores 30 points. Players will earn 1 point for their team whenever they land the final blow on an opponent and will lose 1 point for their team whenever they die to environmental damage (ex: falling off a cliff) or self-inflicted damage. If players are resurrected before they respawn, the corresponding point for their death will be deducted from the enemy team’s score. This scoring will be tracked in our default scoreboard. The first team to 30 points wins. There’s quite a big list of maps to try out in Overwatch Deathmatch, including: Hanamura Horizon Lunar Colony Temple of Anubis Volskaya Industries Dorado Eichenwalde Hollywood King’s Row (TDM only) Black Forest (TDM only) Castillo (TDM only) Ecopoint: Antarctica (TDM only) Necropolis
  16. I'll just put it out there - we have some great nights but for us to win and win well as anything more than a 4 stack we all need to be on our game. I'm starting to think for the likes of most of us that don't really use tactics because we're not uber serious leads to 3 stacks being the optimum. 4 or more and this is when @crispymorgans critical view of diamonds on the opposite side come in. Mainly because they're within a 4 stack as well so they are far more co-ordinated. Tldr - we actually need to talk and communicate more. Also have some kind of tactics. Not that matchmaking sucks.
  17. So eventually after we have had some lolz actually trying to figure it out, Roadhogs with hooks only on Illios Well is amazeballs. So much fun. Definitely Elimination game mode keeps something to play for too. Well done for @Diddums actually working it out. Eventually. Crispy created the Tracer 500% speed boost, unlimited Fast forward which was a little crazy. The best bit is that you can actually fly outside the map from one end to another which is mental. If everyone scowers the internet snd custom games other people make itd be good to have others stuck here so we can create them. Or any other ideas we have so we can try and create them for next time!
  18. Not sure if most people have checked these out. Overwatch makers Blizzard have committed to do more comics and origin stories to help gamers understand the background of where the characters came from and where it all began. These are the comic links, which there are 11 so far at the time of me writing this. Well worth a read if you ask me. You could even print them out from the pdfs - i think i'm going to do it so I can enjoy reading them with my son. #1 McCree #2 Reinhardt - Dragon Slayer #3 Junkrat & Roadhog - Going Legit #4 Symmetra - A Better World #5 Pharah - Mission Statement #6 Torbjorn - Destroyer #7 Ana - Legacy #8 Ana - Old Soldiers #9 Junkenstein #10 Tracer - Reflections #11 Bastion - Binary Enjoy!
  19. The Overwatch World Cup starts on July 14th in Shanghai for the first group stages. 32 teams compete on PC to become World Champions of Overwatch. From what happened last time out, South Korea decimated all the competitors and I haven't seen or heard anything this year to stop them again. I might check out when Great Britain are on as they seem to have made it through.
  20. Anyone on here or new looking at FG should have a look at downloading this and giving it a try. It really is great game that you can have a lot of fun with a group of us.
  21. Sounds like a new event is upcoming real soon. A tweet from the Blizzard Australia/NZ account leaked a video surrounding 'King's Row Uprising' that happened 7 years ago and is 'Confidential'...until April 11th/12th. Jeff Kaplan said in a recent interview with PC Games: “We’ve heard the call that a lot of players want a non-real-world-tied event, meaning they want some sort of set event in the Overwatch world,” explains Kaplan, regarding reception to the large, seasonal events that have kept Overwatch on top these past few months. “The event is going to be something - when players see the event and play the event, I think they’ll see that we’ve been listening to their feedback,” he continues, confirming - as many have assumed - that there will be a playable element to the April 11th/12th event. If they are really developing the PvE side somewhat this will be fascinating to see and get to grips with. It's already a gripping game, even if you're getting hammered (well, we keep playing one more game) and I think this is the part that really requires some broadening. Hopefully some further lore will come within the game too.
  22. Origin Story Developer Update for Orisa. She looks pretty bad ass.
  23. Jeff Kaplan has come out the overwatch forums to explain his disappointment at players going idle in custom games, then gaining XP for loot boxes. Got to be honest, didn't even reqlise you could get XP from custom games. One sense it is great but in another I can see why this happened. They are turning of XP in skirmish and will be introducing bans for anyone caught doing this in the future. I really enjoy the black and white stance they make. Some we may not agree with but at least they come out and make a decision and back it up with rationale.
  24. Over the last 12 weeks, we've been listening to your feedback and working behind the scenes to make the next season of Competitive Play even better. So before you dive into your placement matches, let’s talk about some of the changes coming to Season 4. Skill Rating Changes Back in Season 2, we introduced a skill rating decay system, which required players in the Diamond, Master, and Grandmaster tiers to complete at least one competitive match every seven days in order to maintain their status. This season, players with a skill rating above 3000 will need to complete at least seven games per week—a change that will improve the accuracy of the player’s skill rating, make maintaining multiple high-level accounts more difficult, and make upper-tier placement more meaningful. When you complete a match, the amount of time until skill rating decay occurs is pushed back by 24 hours, and you can bank up to seven days per week. That means as long as you manage to play seven games over a one-week period, your skill rating will be safe. You could play one match per day or complete all seven in a single session. It’s up to you. Last season, we retooled the skill rating and placement match mechanics to more accurately place players into an appropriate tier. Overall, we’re extremely happy with these changes, but we've noticed a few issues at the extreme ends of the skill rating spectrum. Some players, for instance, have been deliberately throwing matches in an effort to reach the lowest attainable skill rating. We obviously don't want to incentivize this behavior—because Competitive Play works best when everybody is trying—so we're making it a little more difficult to hit the lowest and highest possible ratings: 0 and 5000. We're also no longer displaying skill rating values that are lower than 500. This change will have no effect for players who have a skill rating between 500 and 4500. Top 500 Changes We're also making some changes to the Top 500 leaderboard. Previously, any player who managed to break into the top 500 at any point throughout the season would receive a special spray and player icon at the end of the season. This meant that many players no longer had an incentive to maintain their status as the season progressed, which could result in less competitive matches toward the end of the season. Starting today, these rewards will only be granted if the player is in the top 500 leaderboard at the end of the season. This will make the end-of-season leaderboard rankings much more competitive as players fight to reach the top 500 Respawn Changes Until now, stalling an attack by repeatedly throwing yourself at the point has been a common defensive strategy on Assault, Escort, and Assault/Escort maps—even when the attackers have a decisive advantage. Typically, this tactic doesn’t change the outcome of battle; it simply delays the attackers’ progress. This season, we’ve implemented a respawn time delay that’s activated when the attackers outnumber the defenders on a contested point. If the point hasn’t been captured and the defense hasn’t regained the advantage after a specified time, the defender respawn timer will slowly begin to increase until it hits a maximum value. If the defense manages to gain the upper hand, the timer resets to zero. We hope this change will improve the attackers’ ability to capture the point (when they have the advantage), encourage defenders to group up and retake the objective, and reduce the number of ties. However, we are currently working on a more robust solution for breaking ties on Assault maps.
