I missed last week, so here are Episodes 71 & 72. We talk about the mass exodus of talent from The Escapist, including Yahtzee Croshaw, and I'm sick this week, so Sarah and Adrian talk about some gaming tables, the PS portal, among other things.

If you're looking for a good, turn-based style retro RPG, get Sea of Stars. Or this I suppose. Lol. I picked it up yesterday and have gotten a bit into it. It plays out pretty much the same as the original. You can even change the music to the classic style rather than the remake soundtrack. It looks and plays exactly as I remember it. I've heard that it's not very long, but I'll update myself when I've finished.

So this dropped yesterday. I plan on picking it up today, but did anyone else grab it? I've read some good reviews on it that it sticks true to the original. Probably one of my fav RPGs from back in the day.

That's always been D2's biggest issue balancing. So many times, abilities get nerfed due to over-preforming in PvP, but that in turn fucks the PvE side of it and the same for weapons. While I've never been a hardcore PvP player, I agree with @techno I fondly remember having a much better time in D1 PvP. D2 became really bad with the aforementioned balancing issues.

I don't think so, but I'm basing that purely on looking at some footage of Condemned. Alan Wake 2 has a different vibe to it. I'd say more along the lines of Control minus the powers you have in that.

I was a huge fan of the first two movies as a young lad, so I had every intention of picking this up when it dropped. You can tell it isn't a "triple A" title by any means, but it definitely puts you in the era of the movies. The combat has been decent so far, though I do find the targeting seems to be hit or miss. There have been a few times where I know I've had the crosshair lined up right over an enemy head and somehow ended up missing. The "investigation" stuff has been decent. Not nearly as cool as the Arkham games' detective mode, but still cool. I'd honestly wait for a sale if you're interested in grabbing it. But, if you're a fan of the old flicks, you'll probably dig it.

Not a very good month at all. I feel like the selection has been lackluster thanks to the PS Plus extra and premium games library. I may give mafia 2 a go. -
Agree completely @SWAINEY84 A lot of my fondest memories are with the large assortment of FGers since the D1 days, and just having a good fucking time. It's those days that I miss. I know a lot of FGers, and Non-Fgers stopped playing far sooner due to the grindy nature of the game or just not having the time to continue supporting it. Honestly, I stopped due to the seasonal model being utter dog shit, the drip-fed story each season, and forcing people to play certain game modes they may not want to play. Also, the seasonal play mode was literally the same thing with a different twist, but essentially the same. Calling old D1 weapons, armor, and locations "new" showed just how lazy they've become as a developer, and it's unfortunate. The last straw for me was the last season before nightfall using reskinned lost sectors and calling them "New." (Whatever the Rasputin season was called.) I still say that Destiny, to me at least, has always been the best FPS gameplay-wise out there right now. Granted, I haven't played at all since the previously mentioned season, but It just controls so damn well. I'm forever grateful for the friends I've made thanks to this game, as well as this group of amazing people, and I owe it to Destiny.

So far, so good. I'm enjoying this one. We haven't tried the co-op stuff yet, but It's your typical 2D style Mario game.

Update. I had some Xbox points to redeem, so I did, and got this last night. @Rumelyladyis currently playing through it, and has had 5 jump scares already. Lol

I'm honestly surprised there isn't one. The Mysterium challenges are kind of meh, but I don't recall the first game having one.

I picked this one up a few days after release, and It'll be the next one I tackle once I'm done with Spider-Man 2. I've always preferred the classic side-scrolling SMB games, so this one was an easy buy for me. Plus, the couch co-op should be a lot of fun to play with @Rumelylady Adrian, and his wife. Anyone else pick this one up?

Agreed 100%. This is fantastic, as usual by the folks at Insomniac. Really enjoying whipping through NYC kicking the ever-loving shit out of bad guys. Just passed the halfway point, until @Rumelyladytook over the system.

Episode 68 is LIVE!!! Imagine if back in the heyday of the "Bit wars", Nintendo and Sega dropped main line games from the Super Mario and Sonic franchises within a week of each other. Crazy!!

One thing that actually annoys me. There's already a spoiler article on Gameinformer about the game's ending. Wtf?! The game literally just released, and you're spoiling shit already? Fuck off GI. I'm probably going to be up all night playing this. I deserve it after working all day, and podcasting for the evening.

I got this pre-ordered, and can't fucking wait to dive into it!! The first one and MM were so damn good, and a joy to platinum. I imagine I'll be up all night after the podcast filming. Lol
