Thanks Dave, If I purge this winsock thing and restart I can log into my home page in Internet Explorer from the Desktop. I can log into anything using the Internet Explorer "app" on the opening screen. From some sites I've visited looking for answers this appears to be quite a wide spread problem and affects other broswers as well which makes me think it's an OS problem? OK, XP was buggy but, it mostly worked....why change it? oh, I forgot, $$$$$

I have a work around for the work log in by making that site my home page I can log in to my work account but can't navigate away from there

I hope you guys can help. For reasons of space and the demise of WinXP support we've migrated to a Sony Vaio lap top at home It came with Windows 8 which I updated to 8.1 I removed the pre-installed 30 day trial AV software and installed Sophos which is what we use at work and are encouraged to use at home if we work from home, which I do.....and it's free. I have never had any problems with Sophos in the past so don't think it's the culprit here The laptop is set up for dual user and I have the admin rights on my account The problem is I cannot reliably connect to the internet through IE from the desktop. It will connect OK through the "Modern IU" app look alike panel. If I use the netsh winsock reset command (I really don't understand too much here, I'm just trying what I found on the web) It will work to let me connect to my home page but navigate away from that and it doesn't want to know Unfortunately, the software I use to connect to my work account (LogMeIn) works best in desktop IE mode. I can use it with restrictions through the app but it looks crap and I need to be able to see details I've also had to turn off the Sophos firewall but my IT guy says that shouldn't be too bigger deal as most modems are routers nowadays as well Any help you guys can give would be greatly appreciated. Apologies for the wall of text

This is starting to look exceptional! However, I have one minor gripe with this and most game releases............ why a midweek release?? Surely Friday night releases would be better...release parties, no worrying about taking time off work, no kids playing truant from school, etc Simples?

Thanks J just had a listen to them on YT - I might go with the last three but the FFDP track is a bit slow in places although I do like it I realise I might lose what little music cred I have but I think I may slip Knickleback's Burn It To The Ground into the CV section as that motors along a bit Oh and congrats on 1,000 posts

@Leper My idea of " racism is a two way street " is as this example:- If you don't want me to call you a "black <insert slur of choice here>", then don't call me a "white <insert slur of choice here>" To take the road analogy further, life would a lot better if we were all travelling in the same direction on a one way street

This is it for me....campaign gets looked at briefly if PSN is down.I haven't completed a single campaign - my son thinks I'm mad but can they be that good if people can get through them so quickly? I think you should buy the game as a MP and the campaign is the free bonus - maybe then acts would be got together? -

I would say an all day ticket due to the hour long queues....that's if you lot can turn up at a reasonable time....last year was an hour before it closed !!!!

I've just discovered that whatever troops are in your clan castle when war is declared stay locked on your war village even if you use them in the mean time. However, changes made to your village are reflected in the war village. I've got a builder coming free soon so I'll buy some more walls on my drainman account and see if new builds are incorporated as well
