  1. 1.38 remains my best time in either dry fire or live fire. I've not been practicing everyday, though. With work, my dad in the hospital, family time, and running, something's had to give a few days. Hopefully I can keep at it, though. I'd really like to get under a second, but am not sure if I'll be able to with a retention holster. We'll see.
  2. Fuck fuck fuckity-fuck. I broke my reloading press so that it won't seat large pistol primers any longer. Its over 10 years old, so I guess it had a good run, but the part I need is discontinued. Its only a $7 part, but no one has them any more. I'm going to reload a bunch of .38 and .357 in the mean time since I can still load small pistol primers, but I hope there's a new part that will work. I e-mailed the company to see. If not, I guess I'll be in the market for a reloading press soon.
  3. I don't drink hard alcohol much, but a Tom Collins is one of my favorite drinks for hot weather. On a side note, I just had a "Pimm's Cup" at a local British-themed pub. I'd never tried one before, but the lemonade and cucumber combo got me curious. It was pretty good.
  4. Palmetto State Armory has free shipping this weekend, if anyone is considering doing a build. They have a good sale on .223 ammo as well, but I wouldn't be surprised if they are sold out by now.
  5. I finished the final Mistborn. I forgot how amazing the ending is. I remembered the actual ending, but had forgotten the little details that made it so incredible. I don't know what I want to read next.
  6. So is a nude picture of Spielberg now worth $100k to a pretend Democratic candidate for Congress? http://dailycaller.com/2014/07/11/democratic-congressional-candidate-offers-100k-for-nude-pics-of-teen-hunter/
  7. Trying to cheat the system, eh? I guess you didn't *really* want a photo anyway...
  8. I got all my upper half of the PSA rifle today. Still waiting on the lower.
  9. Ack. I was posting from my phone earlier, hence the double tap. Here's a helpful diagnostic target for right handed shooters (reverse for lefties): Here's a less helpful diagnostic target for shooters of either handedness:
  10. I'm a bald white guy. What's to see? Fine. You want shirt or shirtless? Choose wisely.
  11. Standard reasons are too tight with the strong hand and too much trigger finger. Likely because the grip doesn't fit my hand as well as the other two do. Lots of people have the same issue.

  13. Yeah, it makes me take more time between each shot since its a long trigger pull and that lets me get the sights back more precisely. Its an accuracy for speed trade off. The Sig let's me stitch like a sewing machine, I can keep everything in the torso and run it as fast as I can get the gun back down out of recoil. **oh, and all shots were with both eyes open. I've gotten that down pretty well now, too.**
  14. The dry fire practice is paying off. I went to an indoor range today, and while I didn't go for speed (its too tight there and I'm already breaking rules to be shooting from the holster, so I don't want to push it) I did some live fire to see how I'm doing. This is 50 rounds with each firearm. It's not a 100% fair comparison, as it doesn't account for speed and followup shots, but it does show accuracy at reasonable speeds: Glock 22 (modified with grip angle adjustment and trigger job): Ruger GP100 MC (stock): Sig P220 (modified with Trijicon HD sights) 7 yards. A mixture of double taps and 2 body/1 head on each target. 50 rounds total per. .40S&W was factory American Eagle. .357 and .45 were my own reloads.

  16. This is absolutely hilarious:
  17. It's easy. You raise someone to have no respect for life or property, teach them that they are takers and everyone else is prey, and then back it up with a toothless criminal justice system that reinforces their beliefs that there are no consequences for their actions. They are not deterred by jail, its a badge of honor. Both the carrot and the stick are much too small at this point. There needs to be help for those who will take it and an execution for those who won't.

  19. 1.37 was my best draw today. I took the last three days off, I was out of town 2 days and then resting up.
