  1. Rico, Josh and I were the playing the strike again and things changed quite a bit so we did a bit of exploring. We even ended up acquiring some pikes! I saved the clip and tried to piece together the interesting parts. I do not know if it is intentional or not, but making strikes more dynamic with changing enemies and environments would definitely be a nice addition. Hopefully they add more secrets to those side areas with the full game.
  2. I got sidetracked with my purchasing of a laptop because I bought a car and needed to save up again. But I am back on the market for a good laptop that will be good for uni but also be able to play games such as LoL and DoTa - doesn't need to have good graphics; just as long as it is playable and smooth! I was looking at I believe the the Acer Aspire E5-551G-T0Q9 - anyone have any thoughts on this or recommendations for others? Budget is around $1500-2000 NZD
  3. I can't seem to find that model of Acer for sale anywhere online. Have you got any trustworthy sites that do international shipping or would it be best for me to buy it in store?
  4. Holy hell, I didn't think something like this would happen to a forum-er. I didn't play with him much but interacting with him on the forum was always a joy. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. May he rest in peace.
  5. Cheers for that, I'll give it a check, I am willing to spend up to around $1500 if there will be a big difference in quality. But yeah tech is expensive in NZ for the same reasons. For a while the average game cost $120 and CoD was like $139. Thankfully they're usually about $90 now [emoji28] I've got an old laptop Toshiba laptop I can trade in so I'll try do that.
  6. I'm willing to spend around $1000 NZD which is ~680 USD. I could put forward a few hundred more if needed.
  7. My laptop is very outdated and has a lot of problems so I've decided to purchase a new one. I am not able to spend big bucks and it will primarily be for uni (hence why I'm getting a laptop over a PC). However, I also want to be able to play some games on it (Dota 2, LoL). It doesn't have to max out the settings but as long as it will run the games smoothly. If you have any suggestions and/or know of good options it would be appreciated.
  8. Like others have said it is sort of a mixture. I aim to get games which will give large amounts of playing time but there are also shorter games that provide great experiences and are well worth the investment. However, a lot of the singleplayer/story-driven games will be much lower in price around a year after release. So in most cases I just wait it out until I get a good deal on them. For example, I got the telltale games pack which included 5 of their games for about $50, and they were sold for about $25+ each so that was a great deal. For multiplayer games it is harder to wait because you'll fall behind everyone as well as the game becoming stale to people at that time. So in terms of longevity it depends on the aims of the game. If it is a MP focussed game then I'll try and only buy games that provide a lot of hours. If it is a story focussed game I consider longevity to be the sense of accomplishment and unique experience I gain from playing it. Also for a lot of games longevity is added if you aim for trophies. Some of my favourite games have had tens of hours added onto my total playing time as I go for the trophies.
  9. I've made a clan; "Forever•Gaming" Apparently verga is a swear word so couldn't but a space between [emoji23] But if you search up "forever gaming" it should be the first clan that pops up. You have to be level 3 before you can join a clan though.
  10. Clash Royale has officially been released worldwide! Give it a go [emoji16]
  11. I've recorded a gameplay commentary for it if you want to check it out. I go through a bit of campaign, customisation and online. First time using the share factory on PS4 so hopefully quality and everything is good. Enjoy!
  12. Well I have been playing clash of clans a little bit more lately and managed to beat my high score [emoji322][emoji322] For a grand total of 1,496,171
  13. What a coincidence, I just got an email from Ubisoft saying that I got accepted into the closed beta for the game. I don't remember signing up for it but I'll download it and give it a go [emoji16]
  14. Smite was officially announced for PS4 a few days ago. It is a free-to-play MOBA like Dota 2 and LoL with key differences, namely the 3rd person perspective. http://blog.us.playstation.com/2016/02/19/smite-battleground-of-the-gods-coming-to-ps4/I am really excited for this game. I played it a small amount on PC but as a big fan of Dota 2 and LoL I've been waiting for a successful MOBA to come to console. It's a huge genre that is untapped in console gaming and I think this game has the potential to hook a lot of people. Those on the forum who have played MOBA's on PC can attest I'm sure. Sign up for the closed beta is available at this URL: http://www.smitegame.com/ps4-beta/ Here's hoping it turns out well!
  15. Clash Royale will be released worldwide early March. I have been playing it on and off since I've gotten it and it some good fun for a mobile game.
  16. Saw it tonight as well. Great movie; it stayed true to the the character of Deadpool. Heaps of laughs and kick-ass action. Here's hoping its success will open up the door for more R-rated superhero movies [emoji1303]
  17. Definitely going to get game of the year!! [emoji23]
  18. I've been keeping an eye on this game as well! Looks like it has a lot of potential; I love games with differing characters and move sets - adds a whole new layer. I am hoping I can give a try soon - seems like it would be a blast working together with a team in a party.
  19. It's really him, long time no talk! How's everything been going for ya? (This is inFAMOUS/Corey btw)
  20. The Cinderella story continues! There's been no hope for Chelsea for a while so I have been hoping that Leicester can take it out [emoji16]
  21. I saw a lot about this game last E3 (I think) and it looked like it could be a lot of fun. The only concern I have is the small player number. Having larger numbers and/or multiple teams would be more fun. Hopefully they'll add a feature for that soon.
  22. I'll PM you my PayPal account... [emoji23]
  23. I've been playing for a few days so thought it would be good to give my thoughts on the game so far. PROS: It's a fresh and interesting take on clash of clans. Especially since I've heard a lot of people starting to be burnt out for Clash. The progression system reduces the grind that was in CoC. New sets of cards are unlocked as you progress in trophies/arenas. This keeps the game fresh as you progress as you can try new strategies. Friendly battles! You can challenge people in your clan to a match. I always wanted this feature in CoC so glad to see it in this game. Large variety of troops/cards. The troops are quite unique to one another and all have their own pros and cons. It allows for a pretty diverse variety of strategies. CONS: The current system of the game is you have four chest slots. For each successful win you get a specific tier of chest - the average is silver and takes 3h to open while gold takes 8h to open. You get gold, XP, gem and cards from opening these. The problem is that when your chests slots are full there is nothing to attack for besides trophies. Perhaps if they allowed you to get gold from attacks it would create more motivation to attack when slots are full. Following on from the previous point it is hard to earn gold. If we could earn a little bit of gold from battles it would help cards from the store. Card balance. Currently some cards are overpowered while others are underpowered. They have already done a hotfix to balance troops so I assume they'll continue to do so though. Map Variety. Currently there are multiple 'arenas' but each have the same layout - just different aesthetics. I think there would be a lot of potential in creating battle arenas with different layouts. __________ That's pretty much it so far. There is a lot of potential in this game. I think it'll be awesome having tournaments within the clan. On a side note; is everyone okay with me creating a clan with the name Forever Gaming? There will be some people from my clan on Clash but they are all good people.
  24. This game was recently released by supercell and features realtime multiplayer battles using Clash of Clans and new characters. I have been playing it for a couple of days now and it is quite fun. Here is a clip of some gameplay from a tournament supercell ran... My only gripe with this game is the way to upgrade your army composition is to unlock chests. You can only hold a max of 4 chests at a time but silver chests take 3h to open and gold 8h. This creates problems because you don't get rewarded with anything else when you attack besides trophies. I think this is an easy fix though - just reduce the time it takes for chests to open. UNFORTUNATELY it is only currently available in Canada, Hong Kong, Australia, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland, Finland and New Zealand on the iOS. They are using this as a soft launch/beta to see how the game goes but plan to release to more countries soon. I think this is definitely a mobile game to keep your eye out for. Especially since the latest Clash of Clans update really messed up some crucial aspects. Also here is the link to their website with more information: www.clashroyale.com
