  1. Battlefield Hardline gameplay trailer!
  2. I was pissing about last night with traffic lights and raising bollards to cause crashes and some of the collisions in those with the AI are spectacular but as soon as I'M driving and colliding with other cars; I just bounce off them without causing any damage or flying off in a weird direction. The driving physics are inconsistent and very sloppy. I still find that not being able to use a gun from your car just makes the car chases annoying. You have to evade them by manipulating bridges, lights and bollards or essentially get out the car and take down about 12 AI enemies which is bloody hard. I lost $10,000 playing poker last night which fucked me off too

  4. Very good read. Thanks for posting!
  5. That's very true of Call of Duty but I think BF4 and Hardline could run well together and give gamers a vast choice of two very different games with similar core mechanics. By Christmas, you've seen it all in a COD game with only the DLC to retain any lingering longevity. You've unlocked all the guns, attachments and perks and the quick-fire matches of 6v6 just means a continuous cycle of the same old stuff. I usually tire of the current COD game long before summer as the hype for the next one grows as the leaks reveal. Battlefield 4 has over 130 weapons to unlock, tonnes of assignments, medals and matches on a huge scale on a variety of modes. There is so much meat and depth to this game, it is just massive and despite the problems; the infrastructure will keep players engaged for a very long time. I spent a couple of years on BF3 and I'll probably do the same with 4 as there is still so much to do and see. The backbone of this game is immense and that's why I think people will still maintain interest even if there is a sister game out at the same time. BF4 accompanied by Hardline as an alternative sounds pretty good.
  6. How did you get your girlfriend refunded?
  7. I'm really excited for this. It's a frostbite 3 Battlefield game with a spin. There is enough meat in BF4 to last two years plus having this on the side will be an interesting alternative. Hopefully it will be a different take on the classic Battlefield formula. I couldn't have Battlefield 4,5,6 annually as it would just feel like a ripoff like DLC masked as a full game but there seems to be enough diversity in this style to warrant a lot of interest.
  8. From what I saw of Elliott Rodger; it seems his wealthy parents spoiled him throughout his life and that he expected everything to go his way and be on a plate for him. His attitudes to women and life in general was worrying. I have grave concern for the youth of today and society in general. Parents that are happy seeing their kids playing on Xbox for 6 hours a night, no fresh air, Kim Kardashian, Rihanna, One Direction and Chris Brown as role models and this image that they have to maintain on social networks of being beautiful in all selfies and having as many friends as possible. I'd hate to be under 21 these days. The social pressures it seems is just too much now. Even guys are under pressure having perfect hair, skin, muscles and clothes. If someone doesn't fit the expectations; they get slated or bitched about by others. Also this fanboy culture we see in music and videgames has lead to people losing the plot, making death threats and literally going 'mental'. It's a far cry from the easy days I used to know. I think society is on the brink of collapse and I think metal illness particularly in young people will go through the roof with all the daily social pressures it seems.
  9. Yeah it's pretty bad most of the time. 90% of the maps are crap, 90% of the guns aren't worth using, 90% of the perks are pointless, 90% of the players are wankers 90% of the time, 90% of the modes are under-populated. Knack is better
  10. Oi, what about FIFA 14 and that American netball game?
  11. Pochettino named as Spurs manager..
  12. This is the new Battlefield game made by Visceral and NOT DICE thankfully
  13. Is Infamous worth the money would you say? I have been tempted to pick it up for ages but for that kinda money; I could pick up 2-3 quality Steam games. I just don't want to blow too much money on tat, Shadowfall I got preowned cheap and I still felt ripped off
  14. I didn't know where to place this but as almost everyone has a PS4 on here including myself; I thought i'd pop it here. Today after much anticipation and a 6 month delay; I finally added Watch Dogs to my minuscule PS4 games collection which consists of just FIFA 14 and MGS: Ground Zeroes. I did have Killzone Shadowfall but that was abysmal. I've had my PS4 since January which replaced my Xbox 360 of 7 years. I also frequently play on the PC and added COD Ghosts and Battlefield 4 on there in between the generation transition and when I was unsure as to whether I was getting a next gen console. I spent £350 on the PS4 and although I consider this an investment; I am immensely disappointed at the lack of games so far. I knew the line up of games wouldn't be outlandish in quantity and quality but I kinda wish I held on until later in the year to make the purchase. It appears Ghosts and BF4 have been very disappointing also and these two games accumulate large player traffic daily as the more popular games on the system. I don't know whether it is because I have them on PC; the PS4 just seems a bit bare so far or if others are feeling this next gen is somewhat lacking so far? I am excited for Destiny along with Call of Duty Advanced Warfare and Battlefield Hardline but so many games have been pinned back such as The Order 1886 and Witcher 3 along with The Divison. I always intended to get a PS4 but I think I've jumped the gun and perhaps should have waited. Watch Dogs is a good game but it just didn't make me feel like my PS4 purchase was justified. So, any regrets about the PS4 so far or is it all plain-sailing?

  16. Another niggle I've noticed on a couple of missions is the 'insta-fail'. You get spotted and it's mission over and you have to do it again. I just participated in this mission where you had to escort someone to their destination after they took part in a crime. I had to evade being spotted by the cops else it was mission failed essentially and a restart. This is annoying because instead of you being given the opportunity to creatively evade the cops using the technology that the game proudly demonstrates; suddenly you're facing a win or bust situation in some missions which aren't reflective of others in which you can outrun the cops. Also the loading screen on mission restarts particularly after persistent tries can get tiring. I then had a mission which heightened my concerns about the fact you can't shoot from your car; I had to hack this guy from his car and then chase after him and eliminate him whilst being chased in the process by his associates. We were driving round for fucking ages in a Driver-esque fashion as Sennex pointed out. All I could do was ping-pong off his car to damage it whilst damaging mine in the process plus being battered by his cronies in 3 other vehicles. It was a very scrappy and at times laughable sequence of incidences. After mowing him down when his car finally packed in and with mine on its last legs; I then had to outrun his mob. I got extremely lucky as I was able to hack the bridge to raise it and escape. I was glad of this as I couldn't be dealing with another 20 minutes of irritating and vintage meaningless driving. On the whole; this game is very polished and exciting but fuck me the driving just kills it. Considering how important this feature is in the open world of Watch Dogs; it's a massive issue. It's like buying a 4K TV for £5,000 and then a £40 DVD player. Doesn't make sense. How could they get so much right and so much wrong in the process!?
  17. I've finally got my hands on Watch Dogs and have just played a couple of missions whilst exploring and getting to grips with the game; so here's my initial thoughts: So far, pretty good but nothing incredible. The game settles in with a nice stealth mission at the Chicago stadium after the introduction. This gets you familiar with the foot controls and overall payer interface. You can hack cameras, people, look out for threats, gather info on them and also craft items to cause distractions to pave the way clear past guards. On this mission, you also have access to the Blackout feature which we saw at E3 last year. Plunging the stadium into darkness is very satisfying and stylish although the mission whilst seeming spectacular, is just a bit basic and bland although I hope the ante is upped as the game progresses. Graphically the game looks decent and performs well at 900p and 30fps although some textures and characters look a bit basic and last gen in all honesty. The RPG elements regarding the skills tree is vast and interesting. Earning skill points and doing things the right way seems rewarding instead of going in all guns blazing so there is good reason to take car and plan your moves instead of going GTA gun-ho. The driving mechanics for such a well-presented and seemingly serious game are borderline terrible. Cars handle reasonably well to some extent but the ping-pong collisions and poor visual demonstrations of accelerating and breaking drive the presentation and general feel down considerably. It doesn't even feel arcade-based; it's just feels very lousy at times which doesn't mirror the fine foot mechanics. You also cannot shoot from your car so chases combined with the horrendous collisions just makes it dissatisfying and at times laughable. You can hack bridges and traffic lights along with roadblocks but most of the chases involve wildly bumping into the person you are chasing and off other cars and scenery. Even Saints Row had more enjoyable and 'realistic' collisions and that game was a piss take. Not a good reflection on Watch Dogs then. Overall, I can see many people enjoying this game but you have to be very forgiving to live with the driving and accepting that as part of the game. The driving is a big aspect of the product so this is a massive letdown for me. I can live with it but it just leaves the game tarnished. The story is intriguing, the overall XP, unlock and missions seem very polished and fun and I can't wait to try out other things and go exploring. It's early days and this game does shine in many ways but the driving isn't going to improve and that could be fatal in the long run.
  18. Damn you!
  19. Big week on Coronation Street - Tina gets twatted It's not gonna be the same without her And that rack
  20. Apparently he was getting English lessons but on the last game of the season he still had his interpreter! Perhaps it's all a con - maybe Pochettino isn't even a manager and just a normal bloke and the alleged interpreter is the actual manager
  21. I reckon even I could twat Groves! Can't wait for this
  22. If the postman delivers this today; I'll hop on later and hopefully give my thoughts on the game. The reviews have been a bit of a mixed bag with anything between 6.5 and 9. Either way, it seems this game is a bit of a letdown. I desperately need this game to be good for me because the next gen so far has been a whopping disappointment.
