Thanks @GazzaGarrattfor getting back to me! Yes I can see there’s not a huge amount in the difference between the one @Diddumsshared and this one Hubby was sent last night. And if this is the top of the range for within my budget of £200 or less for now, then happy days.

@Emma McManus The good news is that they're both MSI monitors so you can see the comparison on their website:
https://uk.msi.com/Monitors/Products#?tag_multi_select=41529&compare=T3B0aXgtRzI0QzQ=,T3B0aXgtRzI0MVZD
First off, the one he sent through is ever so slightly better (Refresh rate is 144Hz on the one you shared, the one Didds shared is 75Hz so not a huge difference really to a 10 year old). Secondly, i've noticed my monitors are ever so slightly different (mine are MAG241CR rather than G241VC) so I can only apologise as they looked identical. Mine is slightly better than the one you've shared but the price goes above 200. Nearer to 250 actually. I know I managed to wait for a sale and get one of mine for £189. The other was £40 more so you can see they fluctuate in price. If you get the one you shared for a decent price then I don't think it matters much between them IMHO 😄
MSI are a great make so you'll be set with whichever ones you get...just be careful if you surf for a better price, check the letters (just like I didn't 🤦♂️) as you can see there's tiny diffferences in letters as well as specifications.

@Diddums🤣🤣 ha ha you literally forecasted the future!!!
Oh Jesus Why did I even have to open that email this morning. Last night I was on a total high that is got it sorted, and of course I still am but because it’s something I’m so unfamiliar with and even the process of upgrading etc I’m allowing that email to wreck my head!!
Regarding my budget are we taking about for the monitor?? Because I’ve already bought that PC last night, so it’s signed, sealed, delivered, arriving here in about a week!! Lol. But yes I do want a gaming PC that will last him at least 2-3 years before I need to spend a fortune upgrading it. 😫
The monitor id like to get for £200 MAX.
im getting totally ahead of myself now, but say in 2-3 years are we looking at £2500 to upgrade Danny to next “best” thing?? Sweet Jesus! Lol.
And here is the space we hope it will go….
we will be moving the keyboard and that Lego unit.

you can definitely go with this option it's slightly better than the other that was reccomended, as for the systems that were recommended by this company only the most expensive one is altogether better than the one @Diddumsshowed you and it's more than double the price of what you ordered, so in my opinion you are fine

Thanks so much @Diddums, he’s only 9 turning 10 in January but nevertheless I know he is just going to busy with excitement when he sees this. He’s such a good wee boy and asks for very little but has had his heart set on a “gaming pc” as he’s called it for the last 2 years now. So I just know he’s going to love it! And if it wasn’t for you all, he wouldn’t have half the quality of things hes going to have so I honestly I can’t thank you all enough. I’ve no doubt I’ll have more questions along the way but I wouldn’t hesitate for a second jumping on here and I know I’ll be sorted in no time! Yous are a fountain of digital knowledge!! 🙌🙌

@GazzaGarratt@DiddumsI am sending the biggest virtual hug in the world. You have no idea how much of a help you have been. I’m literally ordering everything you have linked below this evening when hubby and I get home from work. You are a computer genius in my eyes and have made what I would’ve classed as an absolute minefield a few weeks ago, much clearer and concise!!! And yes I’m pleasantly surprised as well with the price, I defo thought it was going to be well over £1000 and I was going to have to make really detrimental compromises to get it on budget.
And also thanks for the tips about the keyboard!! Knowing me I would’ve been talked into the wireless mouse 100% and most nosiest keyboard on the planet that packed in come the new year!! What you’re saying makes so much sense, yet it would’ve been something i NEVER would’ve thought of.
Thanks @GazzaGarrattfor the info on the mouse mats aswell. They defo look the part! And that’s great to hear you have those monitors and would rate them for what Danny will need at this time!! So reassuring to get proper user feedback.
i will let you guys know this evening when I get it all ordered. And if I think of any other questions in the meantime.
this is his headset, he does have a microphone attachment but has taken it off at the mo. If you wouldn’t mind checking the compatibility.

That's a Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2 headset. It will likely have come with a little bluetooth dongle which you plug in to a PC (it might be plugged in to his playstation).
If you have it, it'll work. Great headset too 🙂

WWW.SOUNDGUYS.COM The Turtle Beach Stealth 600 was a great wireless gaming headset. Is the second generation version a worthy successor?

Steam = Netflix for games, except that you purchase them outright rather than pay a monthly fee. Install on PC, punch in some card details and you can start buying games. Keep those card details under wraps though, kids have been known to bankrupt their families with in-game junk.
There are other platforms which give you access to a plethora of games for a monthly fee but honestly that's Phil's bag, he's like The Wonderful Wizard when it comes to that.
I wouldn't worry about a webcam yet, maybe some speakers if you want. Loads of creeps on the internet and 13yo boys are very gullible so simply don't even have the hardware to snoop and it'll never be a worry.

The Microsoft Store is a good one if your son has the Xbox games pass, as with some games you can choose if you want to play them on PC or Xbox. I wouldn't buy games from there though as it's often more expensive and the platform isn't as stable as it should be. I do use it myself though for certain games and Minecraft is a Microsoft game these days so your son will be aware of it I'm sure!

steam is both a site and a program you install on your pc, it's an electronic store where you buy games and then download and play them, you buy games like with any e-store by using your credit/debit card, it has an option to remember the card number or not too so you can control when and how often he buys games if you want so he doesn't bankrupt you😅, avoid if possible the microsoft store cause i have heard many problems with it and their discounts aren't the best, but in general the most complete store with the most games is steam, then you have uplay, gog, origin and epic, my advice is to install them all as they all give freebies from time to time, yes not all games are great but it doesn't hurt to try them, half the games i have were given for free
another thing, you should prefer digital for games because most pcs don't have cd/dvd player anymore and you would have to buy it extra, it's not expensive but it's unnessecary hassle and you have the boxes/discs taking up space
