How do you break up a fight between two blind guys?
You yell 'my bet is on the guy with the knife!'

Palle reacted to Drifter in Book recommendations.
The Old Man and the Sea by Hemingway is a great read and a total classic. I read it for the first time last summer and loved it.
Into The Wild by Jon Krakauer is a true story look at what the movie was based on and very moving with things that were true yet not in the movie, great read.
Walden by Henry David Thoreau is a good read. I'm about 60% done with that one. Good read, but be warned, it's written in old English style (1800's) and a bit hard of a read, but good.

Old classics: Anything my Alistair MacLean. I believe some of his books were made into movies as well which are also worth a watch. His books are mostly war related, although some have other topics.
If you want a suprisingly good read, try the books by Joe Abercrombie. I picked up one a couple of years back, not sure what to expect from it. Now I've got all his books. I'd say it's fiction/fantasy. Bit dark to be honest, but definetly a really good read. Make sure to check what book he gave out first though, they are all connected. Probably my favourite writer right now.

I've never understood when people go on and on about how amazing the first Black Ops was. I thought it was the most boring shooter I've ever played. The guns were bland, the maps were forgettable, and the pro perk challenges were retarded.

Palle reacted to Drifter in RIP Robin Williams
I was absolutely shocked when I heard this earlier. Celebrity deaths don't usually phase me much. Not that I am an uncaring person, but rather because I don't care to follow celebrities and the life they lead does not appeal much to me. There have been a few celebrities deaths that have bothered me over the years though, mainly John Ritter, John Denver, Steve Irwin (Croc Hunter) and now Robin Williams. I really liked Robin a lot. Losing him is like a part of my childhood dying because I grew up watching Mork & Mindy and Happy Days, then all his movies. The memories of watching "Mork" while sitting at the table eating a grilled cheese for lunch and drinking a red pop while doing it seem like just yesterday.
Extremely sad, but as shocking as it is, it really should not come as a complete shock. He had recently went back to treatment for alcohol abuse and depression and I know all too well how the throws of that addiction can utterly destroy your mind & spirit. I just wish someone close to him would have seen how bad it must have truly been before it came to this. That's one thing us alcoholics are good at though, hiding things and not telling anyone how bad things really are.
Odd thing is I actually just watched "RV" for about the 6th time yesterday and was thinking while I was watching it how there are just some comedians that will probably never be matched, and he was one of them. Great loss, thanks for all laughs Robin and Godspeed, you'll be truly missed

Palle reacted to Docwagon in A modern American horror story
It seems like only two years ago when my wife made me go to the mall to buy new dress pants two years ago. Somehow my dress pants stock appears to have aged two years, and some have not aged particularly gracefully. My wife, who claims to do the laundry (I know a laundry fairy does it, but I play along), claimed that some of them were now inappropriate for public wear due to cosmetic issues like "hole in crotch" and "excessive pilling where your holster rides". I didn't even know pants used pills, but regardless, this resulted in the time that every man dreads. A true horror. A trip....to...THE MALL!!!
For those who are strong of heart and have continued to read this harrowing saga, you may want to set down any hot beverages and make sure your chair isn't inclined to tip over backwards, for it gets worse. My wife has some sort of card for Starbucks that gets points when she buys things and places OTHER than Starbucks. Like the laundry fairy, I suspect magic. It also gives her a credit for a free drink the month of her birthday. She had her card. We were at the mall. There is a Starbucks in the mall. It was inevitable. Like being on a space shuttle leaking air, all I could do is wait for it. "While we're here, let's go to Starbucks." I considered faking a seizure, but I wanted to hold that card to play if she veered toward a shoe store, so like the brave little soldier I am, I took my Chai Latte like a man.
We walk into Starbucks and there's a middle aged white guy with a desert tan cordura guitar case next to him chatting up some woman in a black hoody. You will never freaking guess what he had in that case. I watched it like it was in slow motion as he reached in and pulled out...a guitar. I then realized that I had fully expected it to be one of those discrete rifle cases and was 51% surprised a guitar case had a guitar in it. I think the color and material did it for me. Well, that and too much time on INGO plus a healthy paranoia. He started to play and softly sing...and he was good. Probably not "packing up and heading to Nashville to sign my new contract" good, but definitely "random middle aged white guy in a coffee house singing to a chick in a black hoody" good. My wife and I enjoyed it for a bit until Mrs. Killjoy Buzzkillington of the Spoilsport clan told him it was against the rules and he'd have to stop. He did, and then we could hear someone WITH a record contract caterwauling over the speakers again, and it was exactly 73.1% less enjoyable than listening to Random Guitar Guy who Had a Real Guitar in His Desert Tan Guitar Case After All.
Oh, and I got two more pairs of dress pants. Don't expect a sequel until well into 2016.

That's today's society, freak the fuck out over the stupidest shit.
Got to wonder if no one else in there marketing department thought about that. Lol
There wasn't a conversation that went something like this " hey, you think people will have a shit fit cause of a burning building, and the words September 11th together?"
"nah, it's fine, print it. "
