It's definitely down to them trying to appeal to the COD audience. If I want to play COD then I'll play COD. I don't want to play a BF that's like COD. I play both of them because they're different to each other.

The maps are just bad. I've played BF since Bad Company and I've generally enjoyed most of them (we can all just forget Hardline exists) but I just don't like this game. I don't remember getting shot in the back as much as I do in this game. I think it's because the maps are really small compared to previous BF games.

I think part of that is the spawns as well, I don't know if you have noticed but if you are capturing a base and people spawn in on said base they almost always spawn behind you. I think this is about trying to keep everything happening at a fast pace for players, you know the ADHD aspect of COD.

Yeah I noticed that as well and it makes me very wary of them doing it. We all know Activision can't be trusted.

It says at launch not throughout the lifecycle of the game, it would be so funny if they flipped the switch once people had bought the game.🤔

Too late in the day really. It's only because Battlefield 6 exists and Activision's 'too big to fail' statement is coming back to bite them. They will re-apply SBMM gradually and call it 'matmaking calibration considerations' or some other corpo drivel and it'll the the same old story. Probably happen a week after release too in typical bait and switch form. 

Activision have fucked themselves with this one as it's shown that they're lying pricks. They put out those documents about their matchmaking process and they claimed that ping is king. This reduced skill matchmaking system shows that isn't the case at all. It's now 100% obvious that skill takes precedent over anything else when matchmaking. 

I feel that Treyarch have shot themselves in the foot by adding this reduced SBMM (it's not gone completely) playlist. It's shown players just how strict the current system is so removing for launch will turn those players away from the game completely.

Treyarch added a classic matchmaking playlist where skill was only used minimally and it was absolutely fantastic. Getting into a game took a few seconds and it didn't feel like you were getting screwed by the matchmaking system if you did well, plus I was always in lobbies with a ping of around 9ms rather than it jumping between 9ms and 40ms. It was actually fun.  It shows just how ridiculous SBMM is in this COD and how the system will prioritise skill over connection.
Hopefully they'll use that system going forward but I doubt it. If they remove it then they're fucked IMO as they've shown players how the game could play if it wasn't for their SBMM system so those players just won't get the game.

You can't play for more than 30 minutes without the framerate taking a nosedive on consoles. The solution? Restart your game 🤣 There is absolutely no way in hell that Gearbox didn't know this was an issue before release. Unless they didn't play test their own game.

Its on GamePass but not sure I'll play it, I never finished the original, but kudos to them for selling it at a reasonable price : )

I've been playing through the campaign with a friend and it's still enjoyable. It does look very dated I agree. It should have been updated to at least  UE4.

There's no doubt its a decent game, I enjoyed the first three GoWs, but just kind of shocked at how dated it looks...

Digital Foundry did a good video on this. It is a lazy effort. It's basically GoW Ultimate with a couple of extra tweaks. It's still running on UE3 🙄 
I've grabbed it because it's on Game Pass but there's no way I would have bought it.

If it plays anything like BO3 and AW then I'll be very happy as I really enjoyed both of those games.
I always felt there was just something off with BO6. It didn't feel like a Treyarch game. So I'm fully convinced that BO6 was released just as a stop-gap until they could get BO7 out.

It certainly looks more refined like Black Ops 3. Not sure what the hell they were thinking with BO6 especially with the stupid movement. They had it nailed down in MW2019 and Vanguard yet they practically made it so flimsy and exploitable in the last game that it just looked and felt ridiculous. 
 
I think this will be a similar case to Advanced Warfare where the devs have tried their hardest and produced a reasonably polished game but shocking direction and shite marketing ruins it. Sadly it'll look and feel way more superior to 6 but get ten times the flack. 

It's definitely a good game for Call of Duty players and ones that didn't play Battlefield in its golden era. Another small, linear urban map released today which means we've literally played half the original maps available in the final game and we are yet to actually see a true battlefield.
 
I will probably pick this up for the campaign and because I can still get 20-30 hours out of the multiplayer but I honestly can see myself getting bored as Conquest plays more like domination and matches just blur into one. I went back to Battlefield 4 last year and it was just breathtaking how spectacular everything is even to this day.  The map variety, quality and mechanics made for one hell of an experience that has never been repeated, not even in Battlefield since.
 
I'm hopeful this game can get close to those glory days and it has come a long way after the travesty of 2042 but if they end up losing 80% of their players to Call of Duty a month later then a lot of their design choices will have been in vain at the expense of loyal fans. 

Well maybe they started getting silly a while ago but the skins in BO6 just took the piss completely.
