Overwatch 2 Reveal Event Thoughts (inc. Junker Queen AND BETA Info)

Watched the whole reveal 10 days ago. Was a decent watch and learned a few extra things along the way. Full video below if you want to watch it.

 

 

 

The roadmap of what to come too has been shared within the video above, so i've grabbed a screenshot for ease below:

 

 

 

The jury is out still on how 5v5 will work instead of 6v6 for me. The fact they've had to go back and remodel most maps to combat this switch should prove worthwhile. At least we get to try out the beta in a few days to see how all of this is going to work out.

Junker Queen update came out too. Here's a clip I've found that explain her abilities (even though he sounds a little annoying) but the official gameplay trailer gives you a quick snippet to what she's like.

 

 

 

What's everyone's thoughts? I'm excited to get back into Overwatch and try and see if it can reignite the fire once had on a game we played so so much of.

Yeah Blizzard can get fucked. I'd rather burn money than spend it on them.

No it isn't. It'll be P2W out the fucking wazoo and have 300 different types of currency for XP boosts and loot boxes. 

 

It'll be a cold day in hell when Actiblizzard do something for free 😂

Overwatch is a dead brand for me now. It was brilliant over 5 years ago but they relentlessly neglected it thinking it would remain popular just like TF2 for a decade and now this knee-jerk sequel seems like a desperate attempt to rejuvenate it on the backdrop of a very bad company.  They have paid the price for not maintaining their live service and although this game will be free, it will never come close to making the same impact it once did. They also couldn't charge full price because it would've been deemed a cash grab and anything cheaper would've also looked like they wanted extra money for supporting something that most developers do for free over time. Really backed themselves into a corner with this one. 

 

I do think it will probably be a good game and many will revisit it but I'm not sure if it'll have the staying power no matter how hard they support it now.

To say I care little about this game is an understatement. They hamstrung their own flagship esport game for very little reason.

As an esport title I can guarantee it will not be P2W. The PVE content will do whatever nonsense PVE games do.

I've signed up for the beta. Used to love playing the first Overwatch with you guys, so satisfying when you won a game getting the payload over the line in the dying seconds or holding on to a capture point in amongst all the mayhem of a team fight. Like others have said though it seems to have lost its appeal so be interesting to see what OW2 brings.
