In Fallout 4, the newsreader in the prologue mentions Vault 76 debuting in 2076 in honor of America's tercentenary when discussing Vault-Tec's plans to expand. Expand So whereas the other games took place some 200 years after the nuclear war happened, this was take place 25 years after the war. Kind of like a prequel. It's been also hinted this will be similar to Rust, which I have no intentions of playing.
