J4MES OX4D 10,184
Charging $15 for MW:R Variety Map Pack DLC consisting of maps that most people bought a decade ago! That's desperately embarrassing. cyberninja2601 1,106
Well i have MW and considering how long it takes to get a match I would not worry about it too much. That game is pretty dead anyways Link to comment https://forevergaming.co.uk/forum/forums/topic/4135-activiion-sink-to-new-low/#findComment-86591 Share on other sites

That's desperately embarrassing. Is it that embarrassing though? Remastered games are what they are. Everyone knows what they are getting into and the world we live in today as 2 routes; supported DLC that you pay for or supported patch updates with non-pay to win add ons. If you've paid for the remastered one then you already accepted that they would do this. Its whether its value for money is more where I would be coming from e.g. are the maps varied, games are better on those maps because of XYZ, etc. I feel we have to embrace the change in video games as its not going to steer away from this as there isn't enough noise about it. Also the young generation don't know any different to us oldies when we had it so good! cyberninja2601 1,106
As long as people keep buying, companies will produce product with minimal effort. Activision is no a public service. They are a public company that is expected to generate profits for the share holders. If they can do that by taking old product, putting a little bit of make up on it and we still buy, it's our fault not theirs. This is also why I've put the whole CoD thing behind me once and for all. Let the suckers pay, I'll keep enjoying my lifetime free DLC on Overwatch and GTA Online. The only game I might pay for is Destiny, but even then only because of a hive mentality. This is actually the first remastered title in videogame history to re-charge for DLC. All games/packages of this nature usually consist of the 'Complete, Gold or GOTY' edition with all DLC included in the core product. Seeing Activision charge for material that costs $5 more than what it did a decade ago plus the fact the game is dead anyway is rather cringeworthy of them. With the first DLC being dished out for free partly to mitigate the hate for supply drops; people could have been forgiven for expecting some consistency in the content being free. Well, if that's the case, I do see the point now. It won't stop them, nor will it stop others doing it if this is the first. They need to follow Battlefield 1 footsteps with CoD nostalgia as BF1 is a great game but doesn't have the massive replayability factor for me.
