You'll need to buy Infinite Warfare

Activision knows what it's doing. The first trailer for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare didn't exactly leave us performing somersaults, with the confirmation of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered proving more exciting. Alas, the publisher has announced that the spruced up PlayStation 3 game will not be available separately on the PlayStation 4 – you'll need to purchase the Legacy Edition of Infinity Ward's all-new FPS to get it, which has a premium price tag.

The news comes courtesy of a nonchalant entry on its FAQ page, stating: "You must own Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare in order to get Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered." Now, there's every chance that the publisher will change its mind a little later down the line, but it seems that for now, it's using Captain Price and crew to flog copies of its latest game. We're not entirely sure how we feel about this – it must be a confidence killer inside Infinity Ward, though.

Let's be honest, they're selling Moder Warfare remastered and chucking in a shit game for free. That's how they should market it if they insist on not splitting them.

I seriously hadn't even thought of it like that, but yea, you are right

How do you know it's shit?

Please enlighten me with some mp gameplay showing how shit it is.

I can't believe the hype for cod4..half a fucking game this community really deserves all it gets...

It's a smart business deal by Activision - entice users to spend an extra £30 with a baited product so they can get paid off twice and drive sales on a game that was likely to sell appallingly. Ghosts was available in more countries and on more systems than any other Cod game but sold terribly and that was also counting the copies obtained through people upgrading to next gen versions. Having MW:R in there could spare any blushes and Infinite Warfare embarrassment if their main product flops again.

Lots of people will buy this as well as supply drops and the season pass and Activision will triumph once again by only allowing the remaster to be available with a game they probably don't want and would trade in or sell possibly without playing it. If people splash out £70-80 then it's another success for Activision and yet another revenue stream is opened up that will be prominent in all upcoming Cod titles. MW:R will probably have paid DLC and possibly a season pass too down the line but it may become available as a standalone download once Infant Warfare has maxed out its peak income six or so months after release.

I hate Activision but they well and truly have their community by the balls and even the complainers will cough up I expect. I

Having played the last 3 it's pretty difficult to be optimistic about this one. I didn't get pass level 23 on Ghost because it was so poor. Given that IW shit the bed last time, this is a space game which CoD players don't seem to want and they are making such a big deal about packaging it with a game that was released in 2007 (almost 10 years ago), the game is probably shit.

If the game was good IW and Activision probably would make a lot more money by releasing  MW independently a few months later and charging $40 to everyone who wants it. Having to bundle it from the start and only making it available as a bundle is a bad sign for the new game

this about sums it up

You didn't mention blops3. However ghosts got boring but wasn't a total shit fest unlike advanced warfare which as you said really sucked but blops 3 imo isn't a bad game and a lot on here have played it. However that's not the point, people are saying the game is shit but haven't seen any mp gameplay, I could care less about a setting it's all about the gameplay the last cod I didn't play was waw.

Activision win if people buy infinate warfare just for cod 4.

I will reserve judgement about it till I see actual gameplay.

On the flip side people saw division gameplay and played a beta bought it but that games dead already..I think people hate on cod because it's cod.

I rolled Blops 3 into the last 3. A lot of people played it yes. Me included. However hardly non one here seems to play it anymore. I loaded it up today because I was feeling like something different and I put it away after 3 matches. It was also next to impossible to get match making on domination for some reason. I can only assume that the player base isn't what it use to be. I actually like AW much better than Blops. At least the connections and hit detection works for me on that game. Every Blops for me has been crap because of the technical execution.

I am hoping that people wait for the game to be out before buying it. I really would like to see people wait a while and see if they can get Activision to cave on the AW availability. However I doubt that will happen

I can in some ways agree about blops 3 core is imo pretty bad but like blops 2 before it I prefer hard-core however one thing ghosts seemed to get right was hit detection and connection.

I will agree I hope people do wait but it's not likely especially if there's a beta, I may pre-order just for that then cancel but no way would I buy cod 4 if I didn't want infinate warfare and hope people will do the same as that's the quickest way to get cod 4 standalone.

The main point and tbh my only point should have been that classing a gane as shit before you even see it is pretty dumb..and I know you didn't cyber it was Dave. :)

I do this every year, slate CoD before it's even close to being launched. I then wait until it comes out, buy it, play it for a bit, bitch and moan about it, put it on the shelf and that's that. It's a cycle. I'll do the same next year too.

Thing is when we bitch about it before it is launched most of the time we a right :)

Lol... If they at some point decide to release CoD4 without Infinite Warfare I might pick it up. But until then, my money will be spent on Battlefield this year.

This game will sell like hot cakes and it will be primarily due to the remaster. It was smart by them as this would be the one time I picture their sales falling to battlefield, but with that remaster it should be on top again.

Not a chance in hell I'd buy it though.
