Need for Speed 2015

Recommended Posts

Got it for xmas and after just a couple of hours if definitely gives me a nolstalgia feeling. I can see why people have said if you liked NFS underground then you're gonna like this.

Driving is a really fun arcade style with great simple customisation. Picked a Subaru to start with, drives well and makes you feel you can change just enough that if you don't know masses about cars you can still make a difference.

The missions are well put together and the achievements off a few hours is decent value per session.

Drifting is back like old times overusing the handbrake and being able to turn 90 degrees in a split second.

Worth the money for a change and looks like they are working on a crew system so you can play together.

The drifting is spot on... I can just drive round for hours with no real goals in mind, just trying to chain drifts all over the city...

I started with the BRZ, sold that, now in my garage I have:

Nissan Skyline GT-R R34, almost maxed out with performance upgrades

Nissan GT-R only body mods, stock performance

Subaru Impreza STI, minimal body mods (looks like the 1 I'm thinking of buying in RL)

Mazda RX7, with everything almost on max drift settings, it's hard work to even get it to go in a straight line!

1thing I will say about it, it's not very social game, even though you are always online and in with other players... It's like everyone is to busy, you find another player challenge them to races and no response... Only time anyone acknowledges you is when they just come and constantly ram you on purpose...

I love watching videos of this game. I just don't have the reflexes anymore to be decent at driving games.

You guys should post some videos

Nice Jonny! Drifting does feel spot on and totally love the fact you already have a car ready for drifting. Is that the best or just the highest drift car you've unlocked?

I'd really like to get this at some point.

It should come down in Jan sales for sure. You would love this game for the challenges alone I think.

I still love the game to death. I just have to finish up the drift quests and then I've done all the story.

Anytime y'all want to ride let me know!

Wowser Rob, didn't realise you were that far into it! How do you ride together, just join friends?

Bart, I'm utterly shit at these games but I can still feel rewarded from it. Don't let your talents put you off [emoji6] . If I have a decent race I'll have a look at recording it.

GAME UPDATE: HOT RODS

Under the Hood #5

Manual Transmission, new cars, more garage space and Drag Racing. All things you've been asking for and all of which will be going into the next update, due March 3rd.

New Feature: Manual Transmission
A few weeks ago we broke the news that Manual Transmission would be making its way into Need for Speed and we're really pleased to be able to confirm that it'll arrive as early as this week. We know that this is a feature that many of you have requested and we can't wait for you to get your hands on it.

New Cars: Hot Rods
Arriving fresh into Need for Speed are two brand new Hot Rods. Starting with the 1932 Hot Rod which will come with four unique Bodykits. Each of these bodykits has the potential to transform your Hot Rod into a great new look; Soft Top, Coupe, Sedan and Pickup.

rendition1.img.jpg

Each version of the Hot Rod also comes complete with a full set of customization, including Hood, Lights, Grille, Exhausts, Bumpers and more.

The second Hot Rod being added into Need for Speed is the Aaron Beck ‘BeckKustoms F132’. This is an absolute monster of a ride and defines the word ‘custom’. When you take the shell from a Ford 1932, gently massage it into a fierce Formula One style chassis and strap in a high performance NASCAR engine, this is what you get.

New Events: Drag Racing
Inspired by the Drag Events of previous NFS titles, these new events are the perfect place for you to get your speed fix.

Unleash a burnout on the starting line to prime your wheels, align in the start box and time your revs perfectly. Think wisely about the use of nitrous, as it may just influence the outcome of the event.

There will be five new Drag events for you to take part in; Neck to Neck, The Perfect Shifts, Drag the Town, Pedal to the Metal and Speed Tunnel.

New Feature: The Warehouse
You’ve read that we’re adding new cars but before you head over to Twitter or Reddit to proclaim you need more garage space we’ve got your back.

Starting next week your garage will receive an upgrade that will allow you to store an additional five cars, perfect for those eyeing up a new ride and no excuse now not to take a Hot Rod for a fun-filled spin around Ventura bay.

Wrap Editor Improvements
We’ve been constantly blow away by your Wrap Editor creations and we can’t wait to see what you do based on the improvements coming in the Hot Rods update.

One of the most common bits of feedback we’ve received about the Wrap Editor is that you would like a coordinates system allowing you to position decals with a lot more accuracy. This information will now be shown in a panel below the selected decal in the edit decal menu and will update in real time when the decal is transformed.

Writing on your car also becomes even easier as we introduce Text Decals 2.0 and selectable fonts. Simply select your desired font and a popup will appear where you’ll be prompted to input your desired text.

Animations within the Wrap Editor are also being improved including:

  • Animation indicating when a decal has been added to a vehicle
  • Improved animation to indicate more clearly the selected decal on a vehicle
  • Speed up info text animation when showing an action happening

Achievements and Trophies
There are three new achievements and trophies for you to go and unlock:

  • Drag Queen – Win five Drag Race events
  • Wrap it up – Download a shared Wrap
  • Kustom kar – Buy your first Hot Rod

Full Patch Notes
With this Living Game update there will be two new vehicles, a new game mode and Manual Transmission.

We are bringing Hot Rods to Need for Speed! Firstly the Ford 1932 Hot Rod, secondly the Aaron Beck BeckKustoms F132. Along with the Hot Rods players will now be able to play a Drag Race and use Manual transmission

On top of these big features the update also includes:

  • A Virtual Warehouse where you can keep an additional 5 cars in your garage
  • Improved Snapshot overview screen in the Need for Speed Network menu so you can find out more about your snapshots
  • Improvements Snapshot Pro mode
  • Improvements to the wrap editor
  • 3 new Trophies and Achievements
  • More campaigns for Rep / Cash and Discounts
  • A variety of tweaks and improvements including game play, World and audio
  • Multiple stability fixes

So this is probably the other game I will play every other day for an hour or two still. I really think overall they have done a great job and every other month a big content update is pushed with feedback stemming from Reddit and other social media. 50% of this stuff wasn't in the game at launch, which pissed folks off but the developers are shockingly dedicated in updating this game. From this I have really began to like the guys over at Ghost and would consider buying future titles.

The new hot rod is at the top of the list, costing 225,000, I barely had enough. The drag racing missions and the system itself are a little bit of a let down, there's no real shift "zones" but hey that's not in a real car either. Powerful cars are extremely twitchy and hard to shift with.

GAME UPDATE: SPEEDLISTS

New Feature: SpeedLists

Multiplayer is an area that we know many of you are deeply passionate about, and we’re really excited to be bringing you SpeedLists, a feature which builds upon that competitive gameplay you’ve been requesting.

SpeedLists are a series of five pre-selected events that you compete in against other human opponents. Getting into the action is quick and easy, simply select the new SpeedList tile from the main menu, choose from Quick Play, Speed, Style or Mixed, and away you go.

At the end of each event you'll gain points for the place you finish. Then, once all events have been completed and the points tallied up, the final standings are displayed and the best racers shown off in a short cinematic sequence.

Once the winner has been crowned, the action starts again, meaning for those that enjoy competitive multiplayer racing, SpeedLists will quickly become the go-to choice.

Player Titles

As you play SpeedLists you’ll soon find yourself awarded one of the titles below based on your overall position within the NFS Community. Be warned though… there can only be one World Champion.

  • Street Urchin
  • Sunday Driver
  • Wannabe Racer
  • Stick shifter
  • True Contender
  • Rising Star
  • Night Rider
  • Top Competitor
  • SpeedList Junkie
  • SpeedList Pro
  • SpeedList Master
  • Urban Legend
  • Chosen One
  • The 1%
  • Top 100
  • Top 10
  • World Champion

New Feature: Prestige Mode

We've upped the ante on some of the best events in the game. Test your skills and beat the target scores across each of the Five Ways to Play; Speed, Style, Build, Crew and Outlaw; to once and for all prove that you really are the Ultimate Icon.

Once you’ve completed the main narrative you’ll get a call from an old friend who’ll hook you up with all the details. From there, a brand new App will be installed into your phone, allowing you to toggle between both regular and Prestige events.

New Feature: Activities

Located across Ventura Bay will be two new types of Activity for you to participate in, Drift Corners and Speed Runs.

Approach a Drift Corner and send your car sideways to rack up the points, or go full throttle through one of the Speed Runs. Keep your run clean and leave your mark on the Speedwall - with bragging rights at stake you’ll want to ensure you’re coming out on top.

Achievements & Trophies

Three new achievements and trophies are waiting for you to unlock and collect.

  • Basic Bronze: Win all the Prestige events
  • Gold Plated: Win Gold on all Prestige events
  • Speed Master: Win all the events in a SpeedList

Daily Challenges

We’ve made some changes to the way Daily Challenges award decals. Whereas previously you had to complete all three to win the Decal, moving forward, each Daily Challenge that you complete will reward you with one of 150 decals on offer.

Earn them all and take the personalization of your ride to the next level.

Full Patch Notes

With this Living Game Update players will now be able to experience Need for Speed Multiplayer in a brand new way in SpeedLists, and replay the best of the story events with a much harder twist in Prestige.

SpeedLists

Test your skills versus other players in custom made tournaments to become the Speedlist World Champion.

  • There are different types of tournaments so choose the one that suits you: Speed, Style or Mixed.
  • Use the time between Speedlists to tune your car and get the winning edge.
  • The higher you finish in each event, the more SpeedPoints you'll rack up.
  • Join a Speedlist at any moment and you will race the next event available in the tournament.

Prestige

  • Are you ready to try some of the best events from the story but in HARD MODE?
  • Prestige offers a collection of tougher Speed, Style, Build, Crew and Outlaw events.
  • Once you’ve completed Story mode you can expect a call from some old friends to let you know about this new challenge.
  • Turn on Prestige from your phone to toggle between regular and Prestige events.
  • This time winning isn’t everything. You’ll have to beat a series of increasingly tough target scores to earn Gold in each event.

Activities

  • Drift or Speed? Choose your style and compete with your friends for the best scores in these short skill challenges.
  • Drift long, hard and fast through the Drift Corners to smash the target score.
  • If Speed is your game, then some short and challenging Speed Runs are out there for you.
  • Remember not to collide and keep up the pace so you can leave your mark on the Speedwall.
  • Collect them all and keep playing to stay top among your friends and earn those bragging rights.

Daily Challenges

  • Challenges now offer a unique wrap editor decal for each Challenge beaten.
  • There are over 150 Daily Challenge decals to collect, previously only available if you beat all three daily challenges.
  • Keep playing to earn more decals and personalize your ride.

Other

  • Forced Induction and a new visual Engine are all now available on the Ford 1932 Hotrod
  • New Community Campaigns for REP bonuses, $ bonuses and discounts - keep watching our Social Challenges for details on upcoming events
  • 3 Brand new Achievements & Trophies. These ones are tough!
  • Improved network warning messages for players with a poor connection
  • New red zone on the rev counter to clearly see your rev limit
  • Updated Drag Race Outro comparison screen
  • Various Bug Fixes and Improvements
  • Multiple stability fixes

So the new mode is great and all except people will ram into you over and over. Drift matches with a full game is an absolute nightmare and now we actually see a tier list of cars. You will not be beating any lamborghini at drift or speed events and that's kind of rough. I love the idea of the speedlists but now needs to come some car balancing.

I am still impressed with how Ghost seems to want to really focus on delivering an up to date quality product.

We were talking about the For Honor emblem creator as I compared it to any vinyl editor, say in NFS2015 and he didn't know about it as I started braging about my replica porsche.

Nice Rob, even though @ChaosGladiator doesn't agree! Porsche 911 would be a great car to do up, although the Skyline and Subaru were my favourite cars to pimp and drive.
