J4MES OX4D 10,040
GTA V Current gen - releases with a host of online issues with players not being able to transfer data from the old gen AC Unity - Game released with numerous glitches and frame rate issues floating around the 15/25fps mark. 2 patches done and 3rd on the way next week plus more to come Halo MCC - Game released with the MP not working. Players advised to play the campaigns which are also broken in places. Average wait time for a match is now 30 mins from 3 hours initially COD AW - Game releases without dedicated servers as promised and a matchmaking service unfit for purpose DriveClub - Fuck me; where do I start? It no werk This is also not taking into account the likes of BF4 last year and plenty of other games that have been plagued with issues upon release. In this day and age; simply not good enough espscially with publishers focusing on pre-order incentives. Many games do release in an impeccable state and don't require 'get out of jail' patches. The issues in these games are extremely preventable and should be fairly routine these days. You have to wonder what the hell the Q&A testers are doing if anything. Ship now, patch later has to stop because it's severely harming the industry and my trust in devs is really being called into question. Such sad times. tronic44 3,642
I haven't found AW to be bad, there been a few issues but i think that's been down to my internet. I haven't played AC but from what i've seen and heard it just sounds awful but it still doesn't come close to the amount that DriveClub has been slated. Apparently it's just unplayble! I really want a good driving game, it's been so long! One word....well two and a number....Far Cry 4. I can't post in the Far Cry section, think they're after me But i have seen one weird thing, which i'll post later when i'm home.....a break dancing monkey in the middle of no where, was so random! cyberninja2601 1,106
Well it's about about the stock market and announcing revenue within a certain quarter. All of those pre-orders matter to increase revenue and these companies don't want to let it slip away by delaying a product. To be brutally honest, we are the ones to blame to a large extent. If we didn't rush to order games unseen and kept buying bad games (CoD for example has been wonky since black ops) companies would be in much more of a rush to fix the problems. Although a crap load of us complain about how bad Advance Warfare is, everytime I log onto the PS4 half of my friends list is playing that game. So a lot of people are buying and playing a "broken" game although the bitch about it a lot. CoD equaled Destiny's sales of the first day. If I'm the CEO or the CFO I'm not seeing much of a problem. If there was not revenue however, they would feel pressure to fix the problem. phil bottle 9,776
Don't forget Watch Dogs. Grrr. Ubisoft released a slew of games this year and none of them work properly. I follow Total Biscuit on youtube and he's got a pretty good take on these things, form a consumer point of view. Recommended. Total Biscuit is brilliant and is sided with the consumer instead of sucking up to the industry. He's got pretty bad cancer apparently but still has plenty of time for YouTube and gaming even under intense chemo. Top bloke and hope he pulls through. Sennex 1,903
Here is the problem in a nutshell: Gamers enjoy being in abusive relationships Seriously here, that's the problem. How many games has EA, Activision, Ubisoft put out, where we knew it was a bad game, but we sucked the Marketing cock of Hype anyway? How many games have been jarringly broke because of glitches, Bad QA, Features being removed, or never even implemented, etc...... purely because we wanted to get another "Chievment/ trophy!"? Seriously here. The Game studios don't care, they will continue doing what they do, because they know they have all the power and Authority in this abusive relationship. None of us are capable of walking away, we've all forgotten that we can wait months, if not years to play a game. Imagine what would happen if Ubisoft put out AC:U and no one bought it for a week. They'd flip the fuck out, their investors would flip out, people would be fired, and suddenly they would start taking notice. Now imagine if we (The consumers), did that and spammed Twitter and Facebook with messages about not buying games that are broke. If we (the consumers) honestly take the Hype cock out of our mouths for a few weeks and pay attention to real video game journalist (there are few, I will give you that), that care about being an actual Journalist. I bet the game studios would sit up straight pretty damn fast. Remember folks they NEED our money, we don't need their product. //soapbox off Luke 23:34 'And Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they don't think it be like it is, but it do." DarkArch3typ3 58
The problem with the gaming industry is that it's overrun with corporatacracy. Once a massive amount of money enters an industry the consumers are no longer in power. We won't see this industry as it was in the past. The problem is that consumers don't care. They don't want to fight or vote with their money. They want to buy the game and just complain. One game I love to play is nhl. My. Favorite part is season mode. I bought nhl 15 for $70, put it in my disc tray and went looking for my favorite games. No season mode, no playoff mode, and many features that were on previously were not there. Let's just say I took it out of my disc tray and it's not going back in. ea Will not take my money on this game again. Many many people are not happy. So EA there will be a content patch coming soon. They have got to be kidding me, you release a game that's only 50% of what it was last year and claim this will be a free dlc. Really? So it was included every year but now we're privileged enough to receive it was a dlc? Eff off you bastards. Yeah, I like TB, he's waded into the gamergate debacle too with a pretty common sense approach and I have massive amounts of respect for the fella. Particularly how he handled getting bowel cancer, he didn't man-up, he superman 'd-up. Hype cock, hype cock. I'm going to use that turn of phrase is as many situations as I can this week. Sennex 1,903
I Like TB, his latest TwitLonger was really spot on in regards to SJW's don't want to derail here though, so I will stop there Luke 23:34 'And Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they don't think it be like it is, but it do."
