It has come to my attention that we have a small closet MLP following here, and that they're all in the closet because people don't understand them or are not willing to understand.

 

I have come across this Brony thing all over the internet and although it's not my thing, I can understand the thought pattern behind it. It's a form of friendship and comeraderie and a way for strangers to find common ground.

 

This thread is for those that don't understand it to ask about it, and for those who are a part of the Brony scene to have their fun, tell their stories and gasp at the latest episode of MLP.

 

If you don't want to hear it, or you find it odd / strange / whatever, I invite you to stay out of this as these guys mean no harm and would also like a place to chat about their tv show. We need to be accommodating towards all folks here, regardless of their position on things and their choices in life, it's one of the things we as a community pride ourselves on.

 

If however you are open to hearing about new things, then welcome aboard.

I am tolerant of Bronies as long as they dont force their stuff on me i won't force my stuff on them, etc, etc. 

 

But then there are the crazy bronies that are running around wearing Rainbow Dash headphones with their laptops that have pony backgrounds and Pony mods for games like TF2...thats taking it too far.

 

But Bronies like Datte i like because the just understand that MLP isn't everyones cup of tea and accept them for that. and dont pull a "Bro" (PewDiePie Fanboiz) and instantly scream insanity at us because we dont enjoy what they do.

 

 

 

 

 

Also, Pony Porn. No. Just No. i've seen people making those kind of emblems on Blops 2 and people like that need to be hit upside the head by a..........should i say a baseball bat or a cricket bat?  Bat. because that crap just aint right. 

 

 

Maybe i also have a bit of a soft spot for people that are semi alike Furries because i've been around people like that and managed to become quite good friends with them, maybe even made a furry skin for garrys mod using some E2 stuff  simply because they were nice people.

Several thoughts:

Who hates bronies? I find them hilarious.

Bronies are not hated, they're pitied, ridiculed and the target of exasperation, perhaps, but not hated.
The world is a better place when you have things that everyone can laugh at (bronies don't count as people - they're ponies).

 

Is this like when ugly/fat people yell "You're just jealous of my body!" at anyone who'll sit still long enough to make eye contact? Cause it feels like that.

I also don't see what people hate about them, on the FIFA forum there was a bronie and he was giving away advice tips and even free players at one point and people were just down right nasty to the guy, and he left after something like 10,000 posts...

There are a handful of regulars here I got to like the show you wouldnt even know are bronies (not the guys who asked in my ppr or the new guys I brought from dA).

They refuse to reveal themselves over fear of ridicule.

At first I thought it was silly (this forum is filled with sensible folks), but with posts like ol Sennex's up there, I cant help but shake my head and chuckle.

Its a cartoon that just so happens to have candy-colored equines in it.

You dont have to "get" it, for there is nothing to be got.

Its funny, it doesnt talk down to you, and the community is great.

In the end, isnt that what matters, and not what packaging it comes in?

If you (generally speaking) dont like it (assuming you tried it), its fine.

It didnt appeal to you. Just dont assume something is wrong with those that it did appeal to.

It's just a cartoon I don't see why people rip into bronies, hell I love TMNT and Pokemon (early ones, not these retarded OTT ones of today). How is it too far for someone to have Rainbow Dash headphones, I have TMNT socks so does that count as too far or is it just because people are too shallow and narrow minded to get that people have different tastes? I think you're missing the point. TMNT is a "boys" cartoon. MLP is a "girls" cartoon. Like Strawberry Shortcake, Sailor Moon, Rainbow Brite, etc... Even at McDonald's here when ordering a kids Happy Meal they ask you if you want a Boy or Girl toy. It has nothing to do with the show being animated it has to do with the target audience. Grown men watching a little girls show is what people are finding hard to deal with. It might have to do with homophobia? I've never watched the show but I would. I might like it too.

Back to topic, I'm not missing the point I get that it's viewed as a girls show but I still don't get why people care so much. It's what they like so leave it be. I'm a 1D fan (considered a band for pre-pubescent girls) so what, there songs are awesome. It's not just the bronie thing though, hell I think gay is wrong, men are supposed to be with women IMO but I'm not going to protest against same sex marriage, if that's what they want to do then good for them. It will never end, Bronies, 1D or same sex marriage there will always be people who don't like or don't understand people who are just different.

I may have worded my last post wrong, (please cut me some slack here, i was hopped up on painkillers last night, so i wasn't acting like i normally would)

 

Maybe ill get a lot of crap for posting this here, but i SLIGHTLY AGREE with this post i found on the internet,

 

 

 

Wind the clock back, when furries were still in the 'spotlight.' Although they are perverse and decadent, at least furries keep it to themselves, stick around their own forums and blogs. No one bothers them, they don't bother us. They were contained.



Bronies do not do this at all, they have the urge to parade their.. fetish to the whole world, this is where the problem begins. And yes, I said fetish, not hobby, because that's what it devolved into now.

 

 

I've met Bronies IRL that FORCE MLP on me, that is where i feel annoyed by the Brony's. then i have some friends that are like "Yeah, i watch it." and thats it, maybe they have a phone case relating to MLP, maybe a wallet. Okay then, you do your thing, ill do mine. and i'm fine with that.

 

  Maybe i came off as attacking bronies but thats not the point i was trying to make in my last post.

 

Its just......Christ i can't even explain it well. when literally everything you do HAS to have something relating to MLP in it i feel as if thats a bit too much. 

 

But being relentlessly attacked by a fandom because its "Not my thing" is not the way you should act about it. that video said Bronies support things like Friendship and Love. Then accept that it isnt something everyone enjoys.
