I thought I'd do a thread about people's hopes and demands for this game.

So Ghosts wasn't quite the innovation we were promised or expecting. A few things renamed but the premise was all too similar. I think Advanced Warfare has the opportunity to really change the infrastructure of the game with perks expected to be attached to the suit and not the usual list that we've seen before renamed or not. This could be pretty neat if we get things like jump boosts and extra cloaking seconds or something as opposed to the usual stuff that we've seen before such as Steady Aim. I think the perk system has been really good in the franchise particularly when balanced and to diversify between modes accordingly but I'd love to see it overhauled into something different.

The one thing about Ghosts that I hated was the Squad Point system. They were far to easy to earn and the challenge was all but extinguished in terms of unlocking weapons and attachments. This used to be very satisfying in the likes of MW2 especially when going for camo and attachments. You often had to use things you weren't used of or comfortable with but that made it even more worthwhile and enjoyable to accomplish. Without this core challenge and just perks to unlock; you'd see everyone rolling the likes of Honey Badger and other overly-popular items. This was a major factor in why I got bored very quickly.

I also want the Prestige system to be scrapped or modified. I love a grind but ranking in COD of late has become so easy and dissatisfying; prestige only seems to represent how much you play the game now; it doesn't demonstrate the player you are and how good you play. It seems to be dumbed-down to keep people interested without the long term chore but many players would loved to have accomplishments that actually show the effort you have put in. Battlefield 4 has a superb structure; 120 levels to sift though, medals, assignments, weapons, attachments, basically everything on offer has to be unlocked based on a catalogue of requirements such as kills, score, heals, revives etc...Battlepacks also add something new and sometimes it's nice to see some good stuff being unlocked that way. It's like a present every time you rank up. You can't beat seeing an XP bonus of 200% in your gold Battlepack. It makes ranking satisfying and you don't know what you're going to get. The assignment and general attachments unlocks provide a challenge and aren't rank unlock dependent. This gives you the opportunity to be responsible for what you can earn without relying on just a ranking level to unlock items. The challenge is basically down to you and you can choose what and when you want to attempt to unlock certain things. This is a brilliant format which offers huge depth and rewards you accordingly based on your performances.

I hope the maps are rich and varied. I hated the core maps on Ghosts and the DLC weren't that much of an improvement. Freight echoed a good Call of Duty styled map but the likes of Chasm represented everything that we didn't want to see with embarrassing dynamic features. Everything felt lackluster and dated. I'm hoping that if we have super jumps and more vertices gameplay. I'm not hoping for Titanfall-inspired window jumping into buildings but I'd love to see some elevation in the map design if jumping is going to be a feature in the multiplayer. I hope the player count may be upped to 12v12 or something and that the maps are sizable but not oversized. I'd love to see more atmosphere and effects such as rain and snow. The current maps are rather bland and simple. Whiteout had a really good look and vibe to it but it was pretty basic.

I want them to do away with this camo DLC culture and tacky game mode inclusions. Just have a popular playlist and no novelty items. Ghosts bordered on the ridicilous with Snoop Dog and a load of shoddy DLC. They really need to change the Microtransaction format. It's a good idea; it's not pay to win or anything but it's hardly being utilized in a mature and appealing manner. I'd love to see a map a month or something that continuously engages the gamer. A new weapon per class a month or anything that keeps the dry periods filled with content regardless of the Xbox exclusivity. To think of what COD used to be and what it has become is depressing. The commercial side is so samey and predicable and when they do finally do something different; it's farcical. If you had told me Snoop Dog was commentating on COD just 2 years ago; I wouldn't have believed it. Now it's happened; it's just stupid. I don't know who they are catering for or the who their target audience has become but the brand is derailing itself from normality. I hope Sledgehammer take a more sensible and mature route to keep the brand and their game consistent with what the series initially was. Black Ops 2 only brought the Peacekeeper, Ghosts has had a couple of guns but BF4 is offering plenty of weapons and items per DLC drop along with solid maps and new modes. These packs are great value but COD is just scrapping for anything it seems because they know they'll sell it to some. I want AW to represent huge quality and justify itself as the most lucrative brand in gaming.

The one issue, of many, that i have with the whole camo thing is that they obviously spend time and money coming up with these camos......well if they've time for that then why don't they seem to have time fixing the game?

Ghosts has actually been the best cod, for a lack a bullshit, that i've played on. People will scream no it's not and that's fair but they've obviously got shite internet. There's a lot that this game didn't offer to us, why they felt the need to completely dumb down the killstreaks i've no idea. I get their point is that they didn't want people to be ale to camp for swarms etc but all they did was make it not fun for the people who can actually get these streaks. I only run specialist when i play clan vs clan, any public match and i run anything but. They just need to not take away the parts of the game that people enjoy, even if it is for half decent reasons. I'll be the first to admit that getting swarmed by some guy sat in a house because your team mates are useless isn't fun but at least it's slightly exciting.

Before i completely go off on one i'll put points down of things i want to see.

- A better variation of maps, large, small but all decent. Free fall is the worst map i've ever played on any game ever, lets keep it that way.

- Competitive! Just anything slightly competitive would be nice, copy blops2 if you must!

- Crazy killstreaks, they're fun to get and adds a bit of excitement to the game. If they're going to put dogs in, then make it a pack of dogs and make it a high killstreak, not some tarded mut that does fuck all for you but merks tings as soon as he's with someone else.

That's pretty much it for me, like i've said before, i enjoy ghosts but it does seem to be missing that something that blops2 and mw3 had.

But i've give it all up for the game just to work properly :)

Not much for me...I want infinity ward connection, like mw2 and ghosts, I would like better stats/leaderboards and challenges.

I want prestige and unlocking stuff to be more difficult, everything was a bit to easy in Ghosts. I agree with OP, scrap the squad point crap all together, it was a nice idea but I want the old system back.

Also please don't add C4. Fuck C4.

I want decent challenges like blops2 had decent connection in core, no bullshit scopes ( future stuff that doesn't bode well), do kill streaks like blood 2 support and assault in the same list, no specialist.

But unlike ghosts it needs to be fast paced and fun even playing solo.

Also make playing objectives way more rewarding than farming kills.

As for dlc I like how its done in battlefield more maps and guns and challenges to unlock those guns, as said before less reward for playtime more reward for challenging yourself.

My list isn't to complicated. Good connection. Little bullshit,IEDs, target finders and such. Good maps. Not so many damn flanking routs or one way in one way out places.

Fixed that for you.

Jump boosts and extra cloaking seconds sounds like bullshit to me. hahaha That's why I hate futuristic stuff. It's taking unrealistic things and making them realistic.

First and foremost, everyone wants a good connection.

I want the prestige system to be redone. As stated above it's shit.

I want to be able to unlock guns through my prestige and not be able to buy whatever gun I want, whenever I want. Because of this system, I immediately buy guns like the honey badger and never try guns like the.... See I don't even know all the gun names. In MW2 and CoD4 I could name all the guns simply because at one point or another you had to try them because you didn't unlock that damn AK-47 yet. I want that back. Then when you use the gun you unlock at level 4 you have to unlock attachments the more you use it. So if you unlocked a sniper rifle, you would actually need to put some effort into the gun to get it max level before you get your thermal scope. That's the kind of system I want.

I really wish Call of Duty developers would stop catering to new players. When we started playing World at War, CoD4, MW2 or before all that, we didn't have target finders and shit. Hell naw. We had to get better (LOL). They need to get better too or they can give up and play Mario Kart.

We need brighter maps. Not flamboyant Nuketown maps... Just brighter maps. Stop using dark colors to cover up your ancient engine.

Allow me to complete whatever challenge I want to complete and don't limit me. Looking at you Ghosts! One of my favorite things to do with John is unlock challenges, compare what challenges we have done and work on game mode challenges together. So Ghosts failed with that in my opinion. They fixed it as of late but the sting is still there.

Killstreaks... Call me old fashioned, but I want 3 default killstreaks and that's it. Just like CoD4. I know that's not going to ever happen though. So what I do want is Barebones back, HQ, and all the other fun game modes. Not this Blitz shit.

Oh and I want my classic UAV back and Stinger. I'm done. I think.

I actually didn't mind the IED's I could just use blast shield...what bugged me was the c4 riot shields, there nothing I could do to counter them, besides using that class myself.

I didn't like blast shield, I liked SitRep better. Worked for everything. The Riot Shields with the radar was annoying as hell. And squad mates in the support, they wouldn't work when I used them but going against them was a bitch. So many bullets you have to put in them and they would just pistol whip me everytime. It only took like 2 bullets to kill me too!

I agree with the prestige system and gun unlocks. I do however like how MW3 did it with prestige tokens.

However I like the multiple kill streaks to pick. I like being able to use support. I loved specialt in MW3 but have barely used it in Ghosts. Just make a counter for stuff, I'm looking at you Riley, you piece of shit dog.

Any kind of ghost/assassin make it work if your moving like blops you will always get campers but at least make it as difficult as possible.

Proper UAV too, not this sat com bull.

I actually didn't like the way it worked in BO2. It helped the good players and hurt weaker players. There needs to be ways to help level the playing field.

Yes, all of that.

I liked how it worked in BO2, I hardly had a complaint about Ghost users.

And that SAT-COM...I. called it since the gameplay reveals that it was a bad move.

That's way too much work for something we used to get in 3 or 4 kills.

Or look at it another way it helped weaker players get better by getting them out from cowering in dark corners.

I'll stick with how it was I'm blops to how it is in ghosts all day.

I also think making it easier for noobs is where cods been going wrong.

I picked up bf this year I sucked when I tried bf3 but still put time into bf4 at the start I sucked but I've learnt how to play and improved to great satisfaction, now I use stuff I'm uncomfatable with to keep that learning process going.

All this make it easy is a modern day illness....no ones a loser nonsense.

Sorry rant :)

Problem is, you need casual players. If all you have are the super serious play 6+ hours a day types the game becomes inaccesible for people like me who can only play a couple hours on the weekend.

Camping is a completely legit tactic. Forcing a new/weaker player to rush doesn't help them get better, it just makes them die more.

I'm not suggesting making it "easy". I'm just saying there need to be ways to help weaker players compete and have fun. Forcing them to be constantly in motion doesn't do that.

Here's the problem, there is no true ranking system. If you are a hardcore gamer and up five hours a day into the game or a casual gamer you still get put together in lobbies and get wrecked. I don't mind ghosts/assassin how it was in BO2 nor the way it is now. I'm on the move constantly so meh.

The developers are consistently helping weaker players. Look at the support killstreaks. Hell, they even had deathstreaks at one point. I use support killstreaks 90% of the time, not because I think i'm a shit player, but because I don't nearly play as much as I did in CoD4/MW2.

I didn't have these things when I was a 'casual' noob in W@W. And since when is a casual player a crappy player? I know some casual players that are way better than the people putting in 6+ hours a day. Just because you play a lot doesn't mean you're going to be good at the game. It just means you have a lot of time on your hands.

I just want it to be good enough to get a full party again, i miss those days.

I think the unlock system should be sorted as well, the only thing on Ghosts that you need to unlock is Camos and even those challenges are a piece of piss.

I miss the grind of having to use a shit default class until lvl 4 then have to use a pretty shit gun until about 15-20. Now I just choose Soldier, buy gun I want, buy perks I want, buy my scorestreaks and off I go... Wooo

They need to reward objective players. To this day; I still cannot believe IW didn't include this in Ghosts for the first half of the games existence.

I remember playing Kill Confirmed and seeing players on my team with 30+ kills and just a couple of tags. Also seeing players bottling B flag on DOM because they didn't want to die for no reward.

I loved how Black Ops 2 rewarded objective play. Even the weakest of players were able to get on the killstreak ladder without needing a string of kills. Everything seemed more balanced back then but Ghosts was lopsided towards noob camping or killwhores.

Also, I hope strike packages aren't included and we have one basic ladder of streaks. about 80% of stuff included on Ghosts is unused or just not popular.

This^

We have to be rewarded for objective play, this is a must!! They took such a step backwards by not including this straight away but then at least showed that they kind of are listening by sorting it out. Way too late though IMO
