Is it just me that really likes the new maps in this game? Greece isn't brilliant but the other ones are pretty decent. Even the new Stash House map isn't too bad and I normally hate tiny maps. They're much better than shit like Black Gold or that bloody Lighthouse map from MW2.
I've been playing on the play list with the maps from the newest MW2 and I think that the maps are actually pretty decent. Yet I really didn't like MW2. So my dislike of it was purely down to the design decisions of IW. Specifically the loud footsteps that just slowed the game down.
On another note: I really don't like a lot of maps from the OG MW2. I think the majority of them are just far too big for 6v6. And they're definitely too big for FFA.
Pro tip if you're came grinding and you have one of those "get 25 tac stance kills" challenges: Go into Hardcore Meat 24/7. Kit your gun out with all attachments that help with tac stance spread and then go into your options and make the centre dot on your screen as big as possible. It took me 2 games to get 25 tac stance kills.
Playing solo can be a pain. I have a strike rule now: If I die to 3 bullshit* deaths then I just leave a game.
*bullshit deaths are where I die with no time to react. I had one yesterday where I was pre-aiming a door as I knew somebody was coming. Then bullets came at me BEFORE I saw the player walk through the door and I died. Fuck that.
Yeah regarding that AMA most questions were about SBMM but they didn't acknowledge that at all, so not really an AMA😁
They can't talk about it. SBMM and the whole matchmaking system is handled by Demonware and the game devs have nothing to do with it. It's the Activision execs that shove it in the game.
An interesting video from Ace talking about the AMA.
Sledgehammer claim they'll look into disbanding lobbies. I'm pretty sure IW said the same about MW2 and nothing happened.
Sledgehammer have said that they and Demonware are looking at desync between players which is what is causing you to seemingly die in just one bullet. I had massive issues with this last night (Tuesday) and I turned the game off because of it. I had 4 or 5 games where I couldn't kill anybody and I was dead as soon as somebody appeared on my screen without any chance of reacting to them.
They're tweaking Ghost because at the right now it stops working the second you stop moving rather than giving you a couple of seconds before deactivating. I'm personally happy about this as it's annoying that you can't stop to reload or whatever before you show on the mini map.
Most of the post launch maps are going to be brand new 🤯 From my experience Sledgehammer are generally pretty good at making maps. Much better than IW are.
100% agree with him. Sledgehammer have had to roll back all of the shit decisions that IW made for MW2. Meaning they haven't been able to try anything new. This game is what MW2 could have been if IW weren't such stubborn pricks.
Running the Covert Sneakers and Ghost is great fun as most players chase red dots and just listen for footsteps, so you can now run right up behind people. I've already done a couple of executions.
I absolutely hate a few maps. Rust, Estate and Wasteland can do one. Invasion is getting on my tits as well as players tend to camp in the Embassy.
In the OG MW2 I wasn't a fan of Underpass or Rundown at all but I actually really like both of them in this game.
Listening to people online this issue could be what kills the game for most.
Hopefully it finally makes them change it....but I doubt it.
The only way it'll change is if it starts losing them money. Activision won't care if they lose players as long as they don't lose the players that spend loads of money on the game. A few thousand people moaning on Twitter or Reddit doesn't matter to them.
The matchmaking in this is so blatantly rigged that it's just ridiculous.
One match you're up against G Fueled bunny hopping sweats who play like they're in some sort of tournament. Next match it's like you're up against players who've never played a video game before.
There's nothing satisfying about doing well when you don't know if you actually played well or if the game put you up against a load of Timmy-No-Thumbs.
I played for a few hours yesterday. Tried Core to start with but the TTK just pissed me off. So I jumped into Hardcore and enjoyed the game a lot more.
One thing I don't like is that the colours in the game are very dull. All brown and grey. I wish it was a bit more vibrant.
Safe to say the campaign is utter dogshit. The first mission was decent but I got 10 mins into the third and gave up. It's basically just doing DMZ solo.

I only ever stay around the edges of maps so the buildings don't bother me.
