  1. Had a look today...seems a good location although, given the size of the proposed build, I think we may end up doing some infill (or developing a basement!) I've left a warp point with a view if anyone wants to check it out and comment.. /warp communal
  2. Make them solid then chew 'em out if you want to use the gaps....mind you, shafts will need some local "architectural compromise" if they don't line up with anything below
  3. 3 or 4 should be ok to do things in
  4. Greboth What do you think about internal walls between the wings? I was thinking these need to be about 3 blocks thick to allow for built in furniture as well as shafts etc
  5. Hi Marina, Love the pictures! Here's a thought..Greboth mentioned kidnapping villagers to create our own village, either inside or outside the walls, why don't we keep the country house and walls as some form of stone and you create the village using wood? We did miss you and your farm on the mining world has...err..been extended slightly
  6. "Gimme the cash !! " I think you need t add the stairs from the ground floor to the wings to get it right in my head
  7. Correct!! Nice one!
  8. Let me try again.... Come in by the front entrance to a reception area. Archways to the left and right under W3 and W5 respectively to the areas shaded green. These double height areas to be stairs to the first floor areas. At the top of the stairs, "minstrel gallery" landings give access to the wings as well as views to the atriums below. As the wings W1 to W8 and the double height stairs are the only things on the first floor they will all have two external walls each. The double height atriums could also possibly have domed glass roof lights I hope that makes sense
  9. Yes, but looking at it again I don't think it would work.....
  10. Let's go with this then. I personally think the minor corridors should be about 4 blocks wide and the major one 8 wide but make the rooms tall say 5 blocks to give talk windows for maximum light or....... make all the wings first floor with the central green areas staircases with galleries to all sides for access, that way everyone has external walls? Gotta go now but may post something later if I think of anything
  11. Like it a lot Nick...@greboth what do you think?
  12. Also found a lava and fire area with loadsa obsidian
  13. Nick... tomb raid on the mining world for smooth sandstone and loads of mobs at:- X = -238, Z = 543 X = -100, Z = -1015 I've used ladders but you'll need some more
  14. I thought it was ping that was important for gaming not download speeds?
  15. Don't forget your sketch ;-) Via the FG App
  16. Can you do a temporary hard wire to test and compare against powerline and also the new wireless?
  17. Good shout and I haven't a clue....I was just gonna go FWC
  18. Found a great source of smooth sandstone on the mining world, could probably do with a hand with the mob killing though, I reckon there's at least two spawners in there. Rather than work through an extremely convoluted maze with torches etc to find them, I'm just tearing down the lovely smooth sandstone walls Might just use that for the folly
  19. Increasing your laptop memory from 4Gb to 8Gb definitely helps with this game!
  20. Forgot the workshop as well! Only problem with me doing the workshop is Ihave a tendency to line them with obsidian! @Marineta how's your interior design skillz?
  21. Can I do the folly? Pleasepleasepleasepleaseplease??????
  22. I think it's " /warp <name> set" and to delete it's " /warp <name> delete " and there's gaps between the words. To get back to your base bed quickly it's " /home "
  23. If the main building has the kitchen, main dining room, ball room, recital room, library, indoor swimming pool, gym, snug, lounge, etc , the personal wings don't need to be too long....bedroom, bathroom, study, dressing room, lounge .......and secret exit to your mine area cuz a man's gotta dig!
  24. I'm not very good at posting images etc so try this....... Imagine the letter 'H'....make the horizontal bar double thickness, that's the main building. Each of the uprights holds 4 wings...ground floor north and south, first floor north and south. With a communal main building we should only need single floor each? Another way of visualising it is your country home picture mirrored back-to-back
