  1. Here's what I'm seeing
  2. Whoa, whoa, pump the brakes... Datte, the banner looks centered to you?
  3. Banner looks tits, but not being centered is driving me nuts. If that's intentional then I'll adapt, if not and you lack the know how to fix it, I know enough CSS/HTML to be moderately dangerous. I could turn this into a pastel colored pony forum without too much effort. If you need assistance with anything, I'd be more than happy to help.
  4. One attack heli per team and no jets is all the game needs IMO.
  5. No problem, I'll keep pecking away at it, too much good stuff to lose.
  6. Doc's epic review of the Sig P220
  7. Doc on High Points High point is the best quality gun in their price range. Pros: 1) Reliable. They go bang with every trigger pull. 2) Cheap. But you knew that. 3) Warranty/Customer Service. Top notch, surprisingly so, actually. No questions asked lifetime warranty. 4) Unless there's been a recent change, made in the USA. Cons: 1) Terrible trigger feel. It will be nothing like the heavy but crisp feel of your Beretta. Its gritty, heavy, it stacks, and its just terrible. 2) Heavy. They are heavy and clunky, way too big for the caliber, and because they are a simple blow back design that big slide makes for an awkward shooter. Much like a brick with a grip. 3) Safety lever is terrible. Its much to small and poorly located to be manipulated under stress. 4) Grips are terrible. They are much to slick and bulky. 5) Magazine well is narrow. With single stack mags you want a bit of a mag funnel, and hi-points don't have it. It can make quick reloads dicey. If you've only got $130 or so and have to have a gun right now, its significantly better than the Cobra, Jennings, Jiminez, etc. that occupy its price point. The frame won't crack and it won't fall apart in your hand. My recommendation would be to save up for a better gun, though. If you can scrap up $300, the revolver above would be a much better gun, and you could look at Bersas on the semi-auto side. A Bersa Thunder is a close copy of a Walther PPK (trigger guard is differently shaped, so not an actual clone). Its much lighter, sleeker, has a better trigger, more useful safety, and much better grips than the Hi-point. Its also a fixed barrel blow back design, but not nearly as clunky. There's a huge difference, and its well worth the additional money. TL;DR $150-ish, Hi-point wins. You'll get a lot more gun at the $300 price point, though.
  8. Here's the first one
  9. That's a bunch of crap. I had my dog cremated and got his ashes back in two days. I always thought people keeping ashes in their house was kind of weird, but not anymore. It was so strange, but when we got his ashes back, it just felt better having him home again. *eyes misting up, gotta go*
  10. Would you want the posts from your old thread added in here?
  11. The biggest problem I have with Recon, is the number of them. One or two, are beneficial on the right maps, assuming they're watching the objective. But when you have 5 snipers, 2 people in planes, and some asshole more interested in the enemy spawn, you end up with only a third of the team playing the game.
  12. If I may translate to Bad Company 2: Assault - I like to hurt people Medic - I like to help people Engineer - Fuck people, I like to fix things and break things Recon - Objective? What objective? Some things are universal truths
  13. I don't remember well, old am I, but according to the wiki, points in assault rifles unlocks snipers and points in pistols unlocks shotguns. Like I just mentioned, it's a long game, you've only just started, don't hesitate to try the different classes before deciding which one to go all the way with. Half the fun is exploring and doing side missions, don't short change yourself by just blasting through the story missions. Make sure to keep your weapons equipped with the latest and greatest upgrades you find. Be sure to switch ammo types depending on the enemy. Tungsten vs Synthetics (geth) Shredder vs Organics (anything that breathes) For weapons with two upgrade slots, I generally use Heat Sink/Frictionless Materials and Tungsten/Shredder ammo If there is a third slot, I add High Caliber Barrel/Rail Extension/Scram Rail If you change squad members a lot, remember to de-equip them before ending a mission (or you can do it from the weapon lockers in the bowels of the Normandy). Otherwise they hang on to their equipment even when not on a mission, making it unavailable to whichever other squad members you take with you.
  14. Don't be afraid to start over with a new character. If you really like shotguns, then Vanguard is the class you want. That class is a shit ton of fun. I definitely recommend getting your level up before tackling the story missions.
  15. I'm sorry to hear this friend. I lost my dog unexpectedly in January, it was brutal. Time is the only cure. Now when I think of him I just smile and remember all the wonderfulness he brought into my life.
  16. I think the brandy needs to come first. Copious amounts of brandy.
  17. There are parts of Scotland? Isn't it like the size of Connecticut?
  18. I'm back... Here's some advice, do with it as you will. There are a shit-ton of short (non-combat) missions available on the Citadel. You should complete ALL of these. It's an easy way to boost your level and get more upgrade points to spend. Along the same lines, once you start exploring the galaxy (and assuming you're not averse to a little grinding) thoroughly explore each planet you land on, explore all planets and asteroid belts. You're looking for Matriarch writings, minerals, Turian insignias and League of One medallions. Every time you find one nets you XP, and finding 'x' amount of them completes an assignment which gives you another XP bump. These are things you can do without actually fighting. Also, explore every room and make sure to find all the available loot. Hacking containers is easy XP. Don't invest in Pistols or Shotguns. Funnel points into Assault Rifle and Sniper Rifle training. Pistols are pointless in comparison and shotguns are best left to classes with high levels of the Barrier and Immunity powers. Don't invest in FIrst Aid, leave that to your squad members, only one person on the squad needs to have the ability for everyone to get the benefit. As Datte said, you want eventually max out either your Charm or Intimidate, not both. The first things you should upgrade are: Assault Rifles to Rank 8 (unlocks Snipers and Advanced Overkill) Sniper Rifles to Rank 3 (unlocks Assassination) Combat Armor to Rank 7 (unlocks Heavy Armor) Assault Training to Rank 3 (unlocks Adrenaline Burst and Fitness) FItness to Rank 4 (unlocks Immunity) Either Charm or Intimidate Horde everything you find and sell what you don't need. Buy the Spectre Master Gear Assault Rifle as soon as you can, either from the shop in C-Sec or the dude on the Normandy. In addition to pumping up First Aid in one of your squad mates, make sure you have someone with a high Decryption score with you at all times. This will allow you to hack into all the various locked containers you'll come across. SPAM YOUR POWERS. Bring up the power wheel to stop the action and use those powers. You should be using overkill whenever it's available, use shield boost as soon as your shields go down, use Immunity whenever it's available. And when something is recharging but you need to use it, use Adrenaline burst. Use those powers!!!!!!!!!!!!! Make liberal use of cover. Soldiers do not charge into battle. Take advantage of your powerful weapons by attacking from cover and from a distance. When in the Mako, get used to using its 'hop' ability to jump missiles. If you explore a lot and do all the side missions, you'll find the game gets radically easier as you go. By the end you'll be an unstoppable steamroller of destruction.
  19. I like Mass Effect, so I guess it's good that there will be more stories told across the Milky-Way, but I do have concerns. First and foremost, Casey Hudson can rot in hell. Any producer who thinks he himself knows better than the rest of the design team that has poured their hearts and souls into a game is a shithead of highest order. How arrogant is that, thanks for all your help everyone, but I'm going to decide the ending by myself, so fuck off. (oh, and fans be damned) I'm concerned that if it takes place after the events of ME3 that it will be based on a default or "canon" ending of that game. For anyone who didn't choose that ending, BioWare says: Finally, I'm a bit concerned that EA is trying to ram the Frostbite engine down the throats of all their developers. I would think BioWare knows what they're doing, do we really need another Frostbite game? We've already got Battlefield and Battlefront, and probably more that don't I know of. This smells of a corporate mandate to me, though I obviously have no way of knowing. //Datte, I assume that scene was there to imply that Shephard presumably lives, why else would they include it?
  20. Headed off to bed, will be back tomorrow with some tips. I just completed ME1 on Insanity difficulty using a Soldier, so no worries about your class being under powered.
