  1. A Call of Duty maps top ten should be next one to list. Kowloon is my favourite. :)

Kowloon was amazing for Domination! My first match on there we won 200-199 and I went 49-39 or summat crazy and I was sweating come the end of the match especially after a tense finale where we nicked the middle flag with seconds to go. Also had a 200-14 win on there once where it was so easy; I had time to roll a cigarette mid game and still went flawless :D

  2. Placing a value on something that has no value and offering the option for people to spend real money in order to buy things of no value to boost their level hurts my head. What does a high level even get you? A bunch of badges, backgrounds and emoticons? It really hurts my head.

I farted around, sold some crap card drops and bought some cards to finish sets for games I liked to try badge crafting out. I can see how it could be addictive but I’m not spending any real money to do it. I'm $0.10 in the black at the end of it.

You also get random discounts on games but it's nothing on par with the Steam sale. It's stupidly good business from Valve because they just make a mint out of nothing and take a cut on every transaction in the community market. I went to sell a gun I earned from CSGO for £50 but the transaction value for the buyer would have been £57.50 so I then had to reduce it to £43.50 to make the price adjust to £50 meaning on that deal alone; Valve made £6.50 for doing sod all  The concept is deeply flawed as well as the 'investment' and loyalty aspect of it. I'm just happy I've ranked without going out of pocket unlike this guy http://steamcommunity.com/id/palmdesert- he must be spending £50 per level now. The Gaben has him by the balls that's for sure

  3. No one better than James to explain it. When I saw his rank I was like WTF? So I lurked his profile only to see that he had half the years in and 1/8th the games I do, not a braggart just typing whats real, so I immediately though "this mother fucker be cheatin' " then I quickly learned about the badge crafting rank boosting. It's all thanks to him

    I'm boosting....legitimately ;)

Can't believe I reached level 50 just buy wheeling and dealing and it hasn't hardly cost a thing :D If you get your hands on some good items in certain games; you can flog them for quite a bit and use that as collateral to rank up although it is a bit pointless minus the few perks.

I do however find the concept a bit stupid. I actually complained to Steam about this a while back after seeing the FAQ and they didn't respond unsurprisingly  A snippet from the leveling section of the FAQ:-

''The Steam Level is a quick way for users to see how much someone has invested in their Steam account. We have just a few different ways to get badges right now, but we hope to expand that to include all the different ways users contribute''

So basically what Valve are saying; crafting badges demonstrates more of an investment than actually BUYING GAMES! I spent £70.00 before the Xmas sale on 3 games and earned 3XP for my troubles but on the same day I spent £0.25 on 4 trading cards to complete the set and earned 100XP - basically this seems to mean that the 25p I spent on cards is more worthy in their eyes and on my profile than investing in 3 games at a far greater expense. Also this means that 1,000 games at a possible cost of £30,000 equates to the same standard of investment as someone that can spend £2.50 on trading cards and still have the same level of loyalty - that's a £29,997.50 difference but in Steam's eyes; both players are equal :o They seriously need to address this bullshit system.

My wallet funds are almost exhausted now so I'm done with ranking up and I don't have much in the kitty in terms of decent items left to flog into the community apart from some Black Ops 2 foils who's value has shrunk of late. I'll flog them in the next auction methinks!

  4. His name is Piders Paradise, I told him I'd let him know tomorrow. He says he likes crafting...

Mmm on the face of it he seems legit but if he wants ALL your Steam cards for just a few poxy backgrounds and emoticons; I smell a potential scammer or someone after something for practically nothing.

You have about £10 worth of cards there and I can't see what items could compensate those in a trade - also you'd be exchanging about 100 items too plus the fact the emoticons are worth sod all so he'd probably have to give you 200 of them just to balance it out.

I'm not sure about this Phil and you might end up getting the raw end of a deal. I'd delete and block personally.

You are sitting on quite a few items in your inventory and you should sell them for wallet money or craft them into badges on set completion :)

  5. So, some guy sent me a friend request via steam and then asked if I would give him all my steam cards in exchange for a background and emoticons.

That's never happened before. I'm currently stringing the chap along to see what kind of character I'm dealing with :)

What's his name Phil? I'll see if he's legit. Don't get scammed though B)

  6. Decent game tonight I thought. Bolton played really well and deserved the lead although the little shit dived for the penalty B) Red card changed the game and Liverpool were always going to win after they scored. Great goal by Phil Cooteeneeo to nick it. Bolton did defend we'll second half but it was only a matter of time until they were breached. Ref was dodgy throughout too

  7. Some footage has finally emerged of American Truck Simulator - the sequel to ETS2 which is one of the most successful and highly rated games on Steam. It's still in alpha and has no immediate fixed release date but it does seem to be coming along nicely. Not sure if the UI and menu is a placeholder or if they are going to keep it the same as ETS2 but either way; it'll be extremely polished when finished.

  8. I'll hopefully get downloaded today and playing tomorrow. Sadly, just logging into Origin is proving to be a difficult task at this present time as I cannot be arsed B)

I haven't logged in for such a long time; the update queue is going to be very long indeed..

  9. Not surprised to see Harry leave QPR although I am a bit bemused at his knee-op excuse! Definitely more to it than that but the club have been a bit of a mess every time they're in the top flight and come under the spotlight.

  10. Just picked this game up. It's very intense. Trying to get up those light posts for the first mission had me panicking lol. And the firs time being stuck outside in the dark, holy shit! That was intense. I'm just running my ass off and those Damn night walkers chasing you all over.

Its an incredible game! Had me shitting bricks.

Don't worry, it gets worse as the game progresses ;)

It's a great game and it gets better by the hour - if you need any help; just gimme a shout here and I will try and assist :)

  11. I bloody fell asleep didn't I

Saw the first half which was a weird game - Patriots dominated and then Seattle scored out of nothing. Patriots then get back in front and look comfortable but with 6 seconds left; the Seahawks nick another touchdown which was a risky attempt instead of a kick but it paid off. Katy Perry then comes out with a distinct lack of cleavage on show and after that; I don't remember a thing. Not really a reflection on the game or Katy Perry herself but I was just knackered. Looked like a pretty mental second period though

  12. It does look really fun fro, what I can see. I heard today that they're not going to allow anyone to mod it, that's probably more a WB move than a Techland one, but it's a shame.

Yeah it's a shame. Probably down to the publishers as this is a AAA title with planned DLC and they wouldn't want people getting stuff for free off the community and neglecting the official content down the line. Also the developers are probably quite strict about their SDK falling into the public domain - perhaps down the line when they've exhausted the engine and after the inevitable sequels; they might release it for modding purposes but this is typical AAA ignorance we see these days and they're probably scared that the community might do a better job in some respects

  13. Ok so I'm nearly 15 hours in to the game and it's just getting better and better by the hour. The story is unfolding and becoming very interesting indeed. I've also unlocked an entire new map to explore which I didn't see coming, so the game is now bigger than I initially envisaged which is fantastic. I've also got my hands on a few guns which are great fun to use along with the improved melee weapons I've looted or crafted.

This game really feels like what Dead Island could have been along with Far Cry 3 - it's simply brilliant!

  14. Noooooooooooooooooooooooo! Avoid this POS corrupt game like the plague Rich. It was released on PC a while back and people who own the game have had their personal information farmed out worldwide to every Tom, Dick and Harry. It really puts you at risk and can seriously screw up your online experience with unwanted adverts and emails.

It's a F2P game but they milk the money from spamming your details all over the shop and your email address will never be the same again - some guy on Steam was getting 1,000 spam messages a day that even bypassed the junk folder.

    Scum developers and publisher

  15. Thanks James, I watched several reviews online which echo what you say, it looks really nice and Total Biscuit's port review was extremely interesting with regards to view distance and frame-rate.

Tempting me plenty this game right now and.... but I'm saving for a decent 48 inch tv and I'll probably wait til the price drops a little.

That simple fix from TB actually worked well and the sacrifice was barely noticeable

I've done a quick review and got a shitload of screenshots on my Steam profile if you wanna have a browse when you get a chance.

I'd stick to Resident Evil HD for the time being and see how this game fares technically and price-wise in the coming weeks. We also have the physical copies of Dying Light coming out in a months time (bizarrely delayed) which could land into retailers very cheap indeed. The GAME edition is only £24.99 http://www.game.co.uk/en/dying-light-only-at-game-edition-229772?catGroupId=and could be even less when it hits the shelves.

I've also got Resident Evil and Grim Fandango to sift through but at this rate; they ain't getting a look in!

  16. I've put in just over 10 hours or so on Dying Light and my experience with the game since day one has improved significantly. After a slow start; the story is actually unfolding very intriguingly and the gameplay is becoming more enjoyable as you develop your character and craft better items. Some of the missions so far have been really entertaining and extremely challenging. There was a few Dead Island-esque mundane fetch quests at first but that part is nothing more than a prologue it seems. The game certainly took a while to get going but suddenly it's improved dramatically on all counts. Visually, it's phenomenal.

I am slowly becoming very impressed with Techland and what they've created - it's certainly surprised me. The movement mechanics are tremendously entertaining and I have to give the devs credit - so much better implemented than Assassin's Crappy Creed 'push forward on left stick and then the A button to scale an entire building in 3 seconds' brand of mediocre movement mechanics.

All the game has to do is maintain this level of quality and it'll be a solid all-round title that has exceeded expectations. At full price; still not sure if it's worth it at this stage but if you do get it; it's an absolute blast so far for me. Better than any game I played last year, that's for sure!

  17. Beta running Feb 3rd to 8th. Will be interesting to see how it's improved over the alpha in the summer and hopefully we'll have varying content daily to try instead of just a couple of maps and a few guns.
